Bad luck West Ham. Stirling performance. Robbed by referee Phil Dowd failure to give a penalty. Inconsistency ruins matches. Like playing against 12 men. Come on you Irons!

You must not have watched the same match I watched. The two situations were very different. In Rafael's case the ball was kicked into his thigh and ricocheted up and hit his elbow. Accidental at best and it would be the official's call whether he should be penalized. In Spence's case he knocked down a cross from Giggs that was heading for Rooney in front of the goal using his hand. It was hard to tell if it was intentional but even if it was accidental it very possibly prevented a goal and I don't think Dowd had any choice in awarding a penalty.

Frustrated Hammers manager Sam Allardyce insisted his side had been denied a penalty for handball.

“We should have had a penalty,” he said, before voicing the long-held belief that United are favored by referees at Old Trafford.

Sour grapes much? Sad sad person.
