I am paying the price this morning for staying awake to watch this, but what a race. You couldn't have written a better script for the start of the race. Great drives by Vettel to recover, Alonso to yet again pull another great performance out of an average car, and Button to take the victory. Been a really exciting season!

What the man said. I was watching an intermittent live video feed but gave up in exasperation, preferring my beauty sleep and knowing that they will show the race on TV in Japan this evening from 10pm.

Kamui beat Kimi! Wow! Congratulations all round, but sad for Hamilton. Towards the end of the season MacLaren had become the real team to beat.

Just going on the number of wins, Red Bull got seven between their two drivers, and so did MacLaren.

Ferrari only got two and Lotus one. Reliability and luck also play a big role in the championship.

Er, make that 3 for Ferrari above, 3 for Alonso and none for poor old Massa who actually drove his heart out. ;-)

I'm glad that neither Red Bull nor Ferrari had to resort to team orders in order to get the title. It would have been sad if Massa or Webber had been told to lose position, to give their team-mate more points. Well done Vettel though - and hopefully next season will be just as thrilling for all.

Very exciting race. No mention of Kamui, but well done moving up 5 places and finishing with points.

Fuji TV's mediocre F1 offerings?. that would turn people off the sport. I much prefer the classy, well presented, highly informative and entertaining offerings from sky or BBC.

Well done Vettel, great driver and a great guy to boot (watch him be interviewed and charm the uncharmable brute Jeremy Clarkson). Gotta hand it to Alonso though - the man can drive a race car. Lewis too, if his didnt break down so often or idiots didn't crash into him, it should have a been a 3 way race for the title.

Normally I would agree with you, Carcharadon, but compared to the overloaded cable link to Sky, cutting out for 30 seconds at a time with only two or three seconds movement and commentary in between freezes, Fuji was actually a better option.
