I thought I posted something here before but got distracted, but anyway, I hope Apple keeps up the good work. As they are adding a regional Shanghainese they should also consider adding regional from the states too. Siri has a hard time understanding my NY accent. I am sure some heavy Texans and Southern Drawls are difficult to use. I gave up using it.

Then perhaps your accent is the problem. The way I see it, Siri is accommodating different languages, not accents. There's no such thing as the Chinese language - there are many, eg Wu, Yue, Mandarin - and they're as different to each other as Portuguese is to Romanian.
