Google smartphone expected at Oct 4 event

I understand Apple is the main competitor but I sure would've liked to hear a bit more about this Google smartphone. Perhaps some guesses at some of the features and strong points that it might bring into the ring.

More than half of this article was devoted to the iPhone. (Which we've already been reading about extensively in the last few weeks.)

Doesn't seem different from the Nexus handsets, which I own. I would assume Google is going to contract the manufacturing to some Chinese company or companies, despite what the badge says.

I don't find the name replacement a step up, albeit it removed the Blade Runner reference which could be good or bad
