Me wants it!

The LG 'Galaxy Note II' ahem, I mean the "LG optimus G pro".

No doubt this is aiming dead square at the Note II. A surprising lucrative niche market for device size. Competition is a good thing. Keen to give it a whizz and see how it runs.

The rip-off of a rip-off? Samsung is about to taste its own venom...

Unlike Apple, samsung won't claim that another company "copied" a rectangular shaped telephone with a speaker on top and Mic at the bottom. Apple executive; huh they copied the iPhone, they only made it twice the size, put in a different operating system, gave it a s-pen, better camera , mini sub, better video handling and some other unique things....but they can't fool us, it's a copy, let's sue!

As a note owner I don't mind whether LG copied the looks of the note, I'm sure it's very different once you use it......and this is going to sound unbelievable to you...I won't hesitate to switch to it if it proves to be superior. Why would you as a paying consumer feel obligated to be be loyal to a company? You're not married to it...our are you?

^dutchduck: take it easy. Both companies are chaebol, so no problems ripping-off each other, you see. They only face problems when they rip-off real innovative companies. Actually, you should be happy with this news: now you have one more choice of a rip-off product to buy. Isn't it cool?

It sounds great. I use a note 2 and it is a great piece of tech. The LG is going to be even faster. Sounds like a good step up!

I gave this idea to Samsnug and also Apple. And now offer it to LG.. The innovation that would vault sales of the smartphone that does this first...is a phone or a case that has a solar panel so your phone does not run out of juice especially in an emergency when stranded off the grid. I rigged up my own and it works. Aloha.

^kimoke: you're certainly not the first person who thought of using solar energy to power up devices. Problem is that the area in the backside of a smartphone is too small for a solar panel to generate energy in a level that could make it an affordable technology. The last I read, the energy generated is so low that it's not enough to turn on a dead smartphone even after hours of exposition to the sun. Plus, the UV rays can make more damage than good to the delicate parts of electronic devices. Best clean technology I read so far, battery-wise, is one that Apple bought, that uses water bubbles trapped inside a battery case. God knows how it will work.

Sharp released kimoke's idea a while back. But it went the way of the dodo with the smartphone boom. It would actually charge even under UV light in an office apparently. Fairly nifty

And can one of the iPhone fans please tell me how the Galaxy Note, or this new LG is a copy of the iPhone? What unique design features did they copy?

It's funny how nobody here accuses companies like Sony of ripping off the iPhone. Why is that? Sony does the exact same thing, using Android to make smartphones.

We have to ask lostinnagoya, he obviously works for Apple.

They don't form a threat to the Apple empire....plus you can't sue the whole world. The true reason is that Apple wanted to make a statement"don't copy our rectangular thingy or else", and by now every body is convinced that Apple invented the smartphone, as they're made to believe....through these lawsuits.
