Sports fans in Japan are now able to sign up to the live sports streaming service for ¥1,750 a month and enjoy over 6,000 live events a year

Perform, the leading digital sports content and media group, on Tuesday launched its revolutionary live sports streaming service DAZN in Japan.

For just ¥1,750 (excluding tax) a month, fans will have access to the widest array of live and on-demand sport. It is available on most connected devices, there's no long-term fixed contract and no advertising. Customers can also try the service free for the first month.

As of today, DAZN gives sports fans live access to some of the best sports tournaments in the world including an incredible range of soccer. All Bundesliga games will be broadcast live starting with this weekend's opener between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen. DAZN also has action from the FA Cup, Serie A, Ligue 1, and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. From 2017, every game from J1, J2 and J3 leagues of Japan's Meiji Yasuda Seimei J.League will be broadcast live.

DAZN offers fans the greatest breadth of live sports ever on one TV service, with over 6,000 live events a year in Japan. The best U.S. sports including MLB, NBA, NFL and the PGA Tour feature as well as F1®, UFC, tennis, boxing, rugby, darts and domestic sports from V League volleyball, Top League Rugby and much more.

Not only will fans have access to some of the best leagues and tournaments, but they will also have complete control over what, where and how they watch. No matter how many matches are playing, DAZN allows viewers to choose between them all and will help guide viewers, based on their sporting preferences.

The service is available on a wide range of connected devices, including smart TVs, personal computers, tablets, smartphones and games consoles. DAZN's immersive playback experience also allows customers to pause and rewind live matches and watch games in full HD with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound.

"It's been an exciting few weeks at DAZN" said James Rushton, CEO, DAZN, "We're thrilled with the response since launching in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Now we head to Japan to launch our game changing service to sports fans there. We will give people one place to go to get their fix of their favourite sports, all for an affordable monthly price. DAZN will completely transform the way live sport is watched and will give users the freedom to enjoy more live sport than ever before."

Commenting on DAZN's launch Len Blavatnik, founder and chairman of Access Industries said: "Perform's management team has a unique, visionary perspective on digital sport content and its potential for explosive future growth. The successful launch of DAZN is indicative of Perform's ability to drive innovation to the next level."

Media streaming in Japan sucks. It's like a cultural sakoku.

I use a Roku 3 and a Vpn and get to watch premier soccer at a fair price (not the extortion prices of Skyperfect), cricket, Spanish soccer, golf etc etc.

I use ustvnow and find it pretty decent. Between that, Japan NetFlix and the NFL GamePass, I'm pretty well covered.

Just signed up for a one month free trial. Looks good so far, but all of the commentary I've seen so far is in Japanese! is there a toggle to switch broadcast languages? If not I'll cancel right away.

Hey this looks good. I got NFL pass and UFC TV but I gotta stream other sports that aren't on Jsport.

Will give the 1st month free trial a go and see what the lineup is. I already have access to BeIN Sports streaming, which literally has everything regarding football so not sure if it would be better on that front. Rugby access is interesting though

Got darn near everything now but need something that will enable me to see NCAA football and basketball. Didn't see them in the list.

With ustvnow, you get ESPN.

By everything, I assume that includes EPL, FA Cup and Champions League? If so, how do you get access and how much does it cost?

I'm currently using Sky Perfect (J Sports) to watch EPL, but it's pretty darn expensive considering I only watching it about 4 or 5 nights a month... would be nice to find something cheaper that also has FA Cup and CL games (live).
