Samsung voice-assistant Bixby to debut with new phone

What's with these VA names? Maluuba?? Bixby is S Korean, it should be called Park Kim Lee or something.

Surely it's a "virtual assistant".

A "voice assistant" would be a throat sweet. Or possibly a loud-hailer.

"I am on fire! I am on fire! Move away from face! Please assist Bixby!"

Samsung as usual coming late into the game, and likely just copying Siri in particular.

A bit stereotypical, don't you think? Should they change their smart phone name from "Galaxy" to "Seo" or "Park", too? Should Japan only call their products "Tanaka"? And why "Siri" and not "Gertrude" or "Anne"? I don't think there are such rules on creativity.

LOL. I was not being picky at Samsung only. Tech companies have funny ways of thinking of names for their products. But you concede that it would sound much more natural saying "Kim, open my hidden porn files" instead of "Maluuba, open my hidden porn files", don't you?

No, because 1) Korean porn sucks, if and when you find it. 2) It's not meant to be one way or another, and Maluuba sounds just as normal as anything else once you accept it. 3) How many people who don't know much about Asian names would think "Kim" is necessarily Korean instead of the short form of Kimberly? I do concede, though, that you were not being specific to Korean tech or Samsung, though. :)

Samsung also provide voice assistant. Samsung Galaxy 8 and bixby will come together. It's Good news for Samsung mobile phone user.
