But it still hasn’t cleared safety standards required to share the catwalk with human models.

Because it'll go rogue and start killing everybody! First Law, Down!!

its programming technology will be made public so other people can come up with fun moves for the robot, the scientists said.

Yeah, great...I can just imagine all the "fun" moves Japanese men will come up with.

Who's going to be the first guy to be arrested for taking a photo up its skirt?

And how will fashion show guests be able to tell the difference between her and the rest of the automotons?

Wow, I guess the Ghost in the shell future is closer than we think..

She'll never make it in the fashion industry! Her breasts are too big and those feet need alot of streamlining!

Okay, I have to make one rude comment! You can tell she was designed by a man who's familiar with "artificial female companionship" ... look at the mouth!

I saw this robot on TV this morning. Wow! Pretty realistic, especially the facial expressions.

Wow! Just wait until Japan isolates itself from the rest of the world. We really will be living in a Ghost in the Shell future. I hope they get cyborg/robotics working right around the time my body is too old and weak to keep living. Wonder what it would be like to be a Caucasian guy? Hmmmm...

Somo robots have practical applications in real life, but when it comes to replacing loved ones as well as human interaction, they are a failure.

I hope she does not end up being molested by a pervert.

I saw her on the BBC over the weekend, and I have to agree with Nuckinfutz. When you get a chance, take a look at 'her' ass. It is not an ass invented for any other reason than the designers' (and eventually owners') titillation. As for the mouth... On the upside, raging at the TV as I did this morning did wonders for my blood circulation.

I hope she does not end up being molested by a pervert.

Look at the mouth. I have a strong suspicion the demographic will be socially challenged Japanese males between the ages of 14 to 101.

When is the sailor suit version coming out?

Also: Why would someone need a robot that expresses anger?

Male robot to take over prime ministers job.

Hahahahah

Here is another observation: Why does a robot need such big-looking boobs? Soap land might be cheaper than getting one of these for their wild imaginations.

Why does a robot need such big-looking boobs?

It's a "female" robot designed by mostly men...Japanese men. Did you expect "her" to be flat, given this? Just look at "her" expression and gestures, as if saying "Uwaaa, it was this big!"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

that's a lovebot, isn't it?

The size of the hands makes her look more of a new-half.

"Developers said the robot may be used in amusement parks or to perform simulations of human movement, as an exercise instructor"

Imagine doing tai chi with that. No, thanks.

Why does a robot need such big-looking boobs?

If you think those boobs are big, I have great sympathy for you. I have had...I mean, have seen...bigger.

Anyway, its about time a robot had boobs. All the flat chested ones suggested gender discrimination in robotics.

Its too bad they did not make her all with a realistic skin tone. Then they could dress her up to look nice in a variety of outfits. It would be cool if she could fool you at first glance every time you see her from a distance. Like this, you see her once and she can never fool you again.

Why would someone need a robot that expresses anger?

She will need it for all the rude comments she will get.

They aren't that big.

Let me misquote somebody from a movie "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...": Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed! It is insignificant to the power of the force: LOVE!

Why does a robot need such big-looking boobs?

Extra accessible space for battery packs? Spare parts container? Hydraulic reservoir? .....

She's still somewhat far from Cameron in The Sarah Connor Chronicles!

adult industry will kick start this industry

"without any clothes" My toaster has a b0ner

super funny:D Really though that has got to be the sickest robot ive ever seen. Very cool.

Why does a robot need such big-looking boobs?

Because ultimately, it will become a companion doll for the nerds that created it. I'm surprised it's not dressed in a high school uniform as well.

Couldn't they have made a female robot that keeps its mouth shut? I guarantee you, the first thing this says will be "Kawaii".

0 ( +0 / -0 )

When will they have one that cleans the house and to keep me company? To respond to my command and not get bothered by the sodai gomi. At night she could be the safety patrol.

WTF is going on here

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The robot often looked surprised, opening its mouth and eyes in a stunned expression, when the demonstrator asked it to smile or look angry.

Tarentobot - only able to respond with kawaii! oishii! kakkoii! But a robot tarento would be no good - impossible to generate publicity through tabloid scandals.

Now this is a cool robot: http://kiyomori.jp/main.html

Samuraibot!

My friend is trying to get funding to bring it to NZ later this year for the annual Japan Festival in Auckland....
