Oakwood Japan’s 10th property opens in heart of Azabu

Oakwood Asia Pacific Ltd, which manages the finest serviced apartments for business and leisure travelers, has opened its 10th Oakwood property in Tokyo.

Oakwood Apartments Minami Azabu marks the first collaboration of Oakwood Asia Pacific with Pacific Development & Management Company Limited, a real estate company with more than 20 years of history. The company is making its first foray into serviced apartments and picked Oakwood, now operating serviced apartments in Japan for 16 years, as its partner.

The grand opening party featured sumo legend and special guest Ozeki Konishi, and guests from various industry sectors were treated to a sumo demonstration by Musashigawa Stable of the 67th Yokozuna Musashimaru. The night began with the traditional sumo ring taiko drum, 7 Gods and Shi Shi Mai Lion Dance. A toast to the opening was made by Oakwood and the owners with “kagamiwari”-breaking of the sake barrel.
