Peach to open hub at Shin-Chitose Airport in Hokkaido

Peach Aviation Ltd says that Shin-Chitose Airport in Sapporo, Hokkaido, will become its fourth hub airport within fiscal 2018. In addition to parking at Shin-Chitose Airport overnight and opening multiple new routes, both domestic and international, from the airport, Peach said it is also planning to initiate services on routes between Shin-Chitose and other airports in Hokkaido, as well as between other Hokkaido airports and those on the main island of Honshu.

Shinichi Inoue, Representative Director and CEO of Peach, said: “The Shin-Chitose route is the first route that Peach opened, and we had received countless requests from the people of Hokkaido, tourism organizations, and people with economic organizations from the start of our services. Tourism resources are in abundance, not only in the central part of Hokkaido but throughout the island, and it is an area that still has a great deal of potential demand. Look forward to developments as we will bring in a lot of customers from the rest of Japan and abroad. We will also start servicing routes that link Shin-Chitose with other airports in Hokkaido, and by servicing routes between other airports on the island and those in Honshu, we will aim to be loved by the people of Hokkaido as a familiar airline and establish it as a method for the people of Hokkaido to enjoy casual trips in the sky.”
