Peach to open routes between Osaka and Shanghai; Tokyo (Haneda) and Shanghai

Peach Aviation Ltd will open routes between Osaka (Kansai) and Shanghai (Pudong), and Tokyo (Haneda) and Shanghai (Pudong).

Services will start on the Osaka (Kansai) – Shanghai (Pudong) route on November 1, 2016 and November 2, 2016 for the Tokyo (Haneda) – Shanghai (Pudong) route, both flying five flights a week.

This will make Peach the first Japanese LCC to open a route to Shanghai.

Representative Director and CEO Shinichi Inoue said: “Shanghai is a city that is watched by people throughout the world, and in recent years, it has become a place where the latest global trends come together. True to its former name, Paris of the Orient, its retro-modern citiscape is full of beauty, many stylish shops and cafés align the streets, and I hear it’s also very popular among women who travel alone. The opening of a route that linked Japan with Shanghai has been an ardent desire that we have had since we first established Peach to become a “bridge for Asia” that could deepen (exchange between) people and things. I have every confidence that the opening of our Shanghai route will further invigorate exchange between people, and that deeper mutual understanding will help build lasting friendships, not only between Japan and China but with the rest of Asia as well.”

With the opening of the new routes, the Peach network will consist of a total of 26 routes; 12 international and 14 domestic.
