Reckon John Key realised AB weren't going to win the next rwc hence the sudden resignation! ;)

I think he should thank sir richie and co for making his tenure faveryasier with 2 cups under the belt (and am only half kidding, country's morale would have been much much lower without the 2 titles especially the one at home).

Surprising news. First PM I can remember who left of their own volition, either PMs lose an election or are deposed by their own party.

I don't agree with everything he did but NZ came through the Christchurch earthquakes and the global financial crisis in reasonable shape. Unfortunately though immigration is out of control and the housing market cannot cope, with property values correspondingly in orbit right now. Feels as if something is about to blow up, which is possibly why he left.
