A nutcase opposing abortion? A religious nutcase? Just a nutcase shooting people at a random place? It's not clear.

The fact that a country can allow itself to be awash with firearms can only be defended by nutcases.

If he's Muslim we need to track his kind and monitor their progress. If he's American then oh well, no need to change anything.

Safety people, safety.

Another incident in the US of a domestic terrorist committing an atrocity with a firearm. It's too early to know what the motive might have been, but hats off to the police for arresting him. May justice be served and the killer rot on earth. RIP police who were killed. Condolences to their families, friends and the communities they served.

When an atrocity is committed by a Muslim extremist somewhere in the world, many non-Muslims want to see every Muslim denounce the atrocity, they want them to go out on the streets and protest against the atrocity. They expect Muslim leaders to acknowledge the atrocity from their pulpits and somehow accept responsibility for it.

Given the number of gun deaths in the US, and taking a turnabout is fair play approach, I think US American gun owners should be out on the streets denouncing atrocities like this one. Every preacher, regardless of sect, should be denouncing it from their pulpits. The NRA should take the lead in protesting against gun violence. The gun manufacturers and sellers should donate money to the innocent victims of gun deaths and to funds for police personnel killed in the line of duty by a gunman.

Pro-life + moron = oxymoron

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I just hope the misinformation spread by the GOP about Planned Parenthood didn't play any part in this guy's motives.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

As long as we don't call it terrorism America can comfort itself it was a misfit with a grievance and continue in its bubble of self-righteous hypocrisy. As soon as it is terrorism it is an outsider who hates "our freedom". They are really one and the same and America is breeding them all over the world.

A nutcase opposing abortion? A religious nutcase?

You get a nugget every now and then.

Just a nutcase shooting people at a random place? It's not clear.

The fact that a country can allow itself to be awash with firearms can only be defended by nutcases.

Not defending the Nut cases, but if we had more mental asylums that would greatly reduce a lot of these wing nuts and get them the help they need.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

The Republican Party incites its followers to murder of anyone (including the police) who get in the way of their imposition of Christian Sharia law.

Not defending the Nut cases, but if we had more mental asylums that would greatly reduce a lot of these wing nuts and get them the help they need.

So you'd lock up anyone with mental illness off the chance that a tiny percentage may buy a gun and shoot up some people?

And if so, why not do that for all white people in general, since the same rule applies?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Terrorism. Plain and simple. Even the FBI agrees.

Three dead Americans.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Terrorism. Plain and simple.

Only if the shooter isn't white.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

That is rather the point.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

"but if we had more mental asylums that would greatly reduce a lot of these wing nuts and get them the help they need." Medicaid expansion would help.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Ah. Classic American terrorism; it's almost nostalgic - at least no one will flip out and call for databases of US Christian groups, or try to seal the borders.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

American Taliban in action ?

It's got to be that kind of nutter. Send him to Gitmo.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"3 killed, 9 wounded in shootout at Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado"

Nothing further to add!!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Not defending the Nut cases, but if we had more mental asylums that would greatly reduce a lot of these wing nuts and get them the help they need.

Mental asylums and mental health care services are social welfare programs. I don't have to tell you which party opposes those.

If you ask me, the GOP and anyone who spread those lies about Planned Parenthood has got blood on their hands.

yet again time for tighter gun laws and control

Nah, that would make way too much sense.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

"A nutcase opposing abortion? A religious nutcase?"

"You get a nugget every now and then."

You get a nutcase with a firearm murdering people about every other week usually followed by you screaming about 'everyone' wanting to take away your firearms.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

But if only the police had guns, what's that - they did have guns? How many mass shootings this year in the U.S. - far too many, and the year has one month left.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Local terrorism it is! No one is safe.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You get a nutcase with a firearm murdering people about every other week

Apparently there have been more mass shootings this year in the US than there have been days this year. We just only hear about the ones that happen every other week.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

My goodness, some people just salivate at the thought of a right wing terrorist - just the thing needed to support their entrenched "liberal" world view. When someone is inspired by Democratic politicians to commit violence, well, they are just sick people. Nothing to do with liberalism. When it's a Muslim - well, he's an exception, as Islam is a religion of peace. But somebody who might identify as Republican - we have to silence the evil Repugs!

The Republican Party incites its followers to murder of anyone (including the police) who get in the way of their imposition of Christian Sharia law.

Case in point in this nuttiness. There is virtually no chance of strict Christian tenets becoming law in the US. There is, however, a real chance of Sharia law influencing general laws in the US. And the republican party only incites people to murder in the deranged minds of some leftists. It's called projection.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

There is virtually no chance of strict Christian tenets becoming law in the US

Because the NRA would challenge "Thou shalt not kill"?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

"There is virtually no chance of strict Christian tenets becoming law in the US"

It isn't through lack of trying on the part of religious nutters. Wasn't Carson babbling in strange tongues about a biblically-inspired tax and Huckerbee getting all excited about a woman breaking the law on religious grounds?

Be on your guard against any religious zealots.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

There is, however, a real chance of Sharia law influencing general laws in the US.

No, there isn't.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

But if only the police had guns, what's that - they did have guns?

Your point? I think this case demonstrates that it is a good thing that the police have guns when situations like this arise.

The fact that a country can allow itself to be awash with firearms can only be defended by nutcases.

Not really hard to defend at all and no it can easily be defended by people who are not nutcases, if you had 32-50% of the adult population owned a product and the death rate of that is one one hundredth of one percent of the population dies each year I don't think you would be against it, in fact I know you wouldn't be against it because alcohol kills over two hundredths of one percent of the population each year and you defend countries that allows themselves to be awash with Alcohol.

It will be so interesting to see how the republicans try to get out of this one, with all the rhetoric about Muslims and how they should be rounded up........they can only come out as hypocrites if they don't suggest Christians should be rounded up.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Terrorism. Plain and simple. Even the FBI agrees

So its homegrown terrorism. No biggy. It happens in america. Yes, its unacceptable.

Heh. Everyone is dogging on the white nutcases. But when Vester Lee Flannigan, Christopher Dorner (both Black) or Seung Hi-Chou (Korean) or Muhammad Youssef shoot- nobody plays the race card.

Even more reason to keep out the islamic refugees. We have enough to worry about with the nutters here. Lest the refugees become the targets.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Statistically speaking, the fact that majority of the terrorist attacks recorded the world over have an islamic link cannot be overemphasized. Nonetheless, associating the two interchangeably is an understatement. Muslims are peace lovers and scrutiny requires a case by case analysis as opposed to wholesome condemnation as some 'selfseeking analysts' may wish to insinuate.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Don't forget to mention they are conspiring with Obama to create the American Teleban.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

My goodness, some people just salivate at the thought of a right wing terrorist - just the thing needed to support their entrenched "liberal" world view.

A "friend" of mine on Facebook posted the same view but was thoughtful enough to post the link to the right-wing site this idea festered from. Nobody wants this kind of thing to happen, but let's face it: done by "brown" people, this triggers a massive (some might saw overblown) reaction; when by whites, it is swept under the rug.

The Supreme Court has affirmed the right to receive an abortion. Many do not agree with this on both ends of the political spectrum, and most of those protest peacefully. A certain faction, though - invariably right-wing - whips up rhetoric against abortion so strong as to virtually guarantee violent reaction, and they then act outraged when the natural results of their actions bear fruit, and their outrage is invariably directed at their political counterparts so as to wash their hands of their responsibility.

This doesn't wash with anyone with half a brain. Guns and violent rhetoric do not mix.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Noliving,

It will be so interesting to see how the republicans try to get out of this one, with all the rhetoric about Muslims and how they should be rounded up........they can only come out as hypocrites if they don't suggest Christians should be rounded up.

I don't agree with anything you have ever said as you consistently defend gun ownership immediately post massacre. Yet, I must commend you for this phrase. Don't expect the Republicans to even acknowledge their woeful hypocrisy on the religious issue, nor the nonsense they have ratcheted up in regards to their obsession with a woman's right to an abortion.

The Bubble is impenetrable when it comes to responsibility of one's actions. If it is indeed a Republican nut from the Ayslum then the Republican party and their continued insane rhetoric on EVERY SINGLE freakin' issue is entirely to blame.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"they can only come out as hypocrites if they don't suggest Christians should be rounded up."

I will support that once Christian groups put bombs on airliners. kidnap hundreds of schoolgirls in a single go, put young girls on the slave auction block while executing all the menfolk in their village because they are the wrong religion, behead journalists and taxi drivers.. Alas, Christians, even the nutty ones, are NOT doing that.

Sorry, the equivalency isn't there.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

no lies or misinformation about Planned Parenthood. Some clinics were putting aborted baby parts on the market for sale for profit. Planned Parenthood doctors and administrators were secretly recorded discussing this.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Alas, Christians, even the nutty ones, are NOT doing that.

Yeah, but they're still most likely to be responsible for this incident that killed 3 people. In fact, Christians are responsible with almost all violence surrounding Planned Parenthood throughout the years. Also rape and pedophilia (like Catholic priests and the Vatican. One can even argue George Bush's adventurism in Iraq and the Middle East had a Christian missionary factor in it. Just look at the travesty, that is the Republican Party and their presidential contenders, they are Christians (just listen to Ben Carson, for one). The fact that they, backed up by a sizable population, can one day be head of a powerful country.....

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Alas, Christians, even the nutty ones, are NOT doing that.

@JeffLee. Amen brother.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

JeffLeeNOV. 28, 2015 - 10:07PM JST "they can only come out as hypocrites if they don't suggest Christians should be rounded up." I will support that once Christian groups put bombs on airliners.

Bombs at abortion clinics not enough for you?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Bombs at abortion clinics not enough for you?

More people in the global community are more terrified of boarding planes (thanks to the nutcase islamic jihadis trying to get into "heaven". Than the mums who are walking to abortion clinics for a quick fetal scraping.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

About 30,000 Americans will die at the hands of guns in any given year with about 10,000 of them through homicide. But I feel worried when I get on a plane or when I think about Muslim refugees so for safety's sake I want to ban them.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

You have to look to the future. If religious headbangers like Carson or Huckabee had their way, the US would be dragged down to the level of spending money looking for Noah's Ark rather than giving children a proper education in science. A nation of religious zombies is not a nightmare for these people. Jesus is due back pretty soon anyway.

Nip it in the bud. Slap these people down early before they humiliate and destroy a decent country.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

But I feel worried when I get on a plane or when I think about Muslim refugees so for safety's sake I want to ban them.

Yeah, they shouldn't be in the US. We are "Infidels" remember? The "Great Satan".

Heck. Speaking in arabic and asking other passengers to switch seats when boarding a plane (so all of the middle eastern men can sit together) is more than enough to make us feel worried?

It would be insanity "not" to be alarmed.

About 30,000 Americans will die at the hands of guns

Mostly black and latino gangbangers shooting up their hoods cause they're "down." Or the one's attacking police officers.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Fizzbit:

Some clinics were putting aborted baby parts on the market for sale for profit.

Thoroughly discredited - unless you have contrary evidence, in which case you would be so taken care of you'd never have to work again. Please: Indulge us with even a smidgen - but you will not because you can not, yet you will even after this go on repeating it like Trump after a smackdown.

Let us not forget that this tragedy is not about Muslims or media interpretation; it is about rights, particularly the right of a minority (distressed pregnant females) to exercise their right as the United States government has recognized their right.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

JeffLee: "I will support that once Christian groups put bombs on airliners. kidnap hundreds of schoolgirls in a single go, put young girls on the slave auction block while executing all the menfolk in their village because they are the wrong religion, behead journalists and taxi drivers.. Nope, they've never done that. Not during the Crusades, and certainly not Catholics and Protestants killing each other because they were of the wrong belief system. Nope, not at all.

Meanwhile, Republicans are saying this is not about Religion, it's one nutbag, but when one nutbag takes Islam to the extreme, it's about the religion. And not only that, but this time DURING THE SHOOTING some nutbag Republican Congressman was belittling Planned Parenting while its people, and police officers (won't see FOX jumping to blame all whites for cop killings like they jump on black people!), were being shot and killed, and actually had the gall to add that "I expect an apology of Planned Parenthood was not actually targeted!". What a coward!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

it is about rights

Yeah. I agree. It's about rights. I don't have any problem with the mums goin in for a quick fetal scrape. But when people exercise other "rights" like bearing arms, others just try to slap the taste out your mouth. It's too one sided.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Laguna

I've seen a few hidden videos. Easy to find on the net. I'm not pro-choice, but these videos were absolutely disgusting. Watch the videos and make up your own mind but saying they're "discredited" with out backing it up is weak.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Perhaps you cannot see the irony of an anti-gun person protesting gun violence by shooting up a gun shop. Ain't gonna happen. The sad fact is that the media's drive to appear "balanced" has dramatically skewed the debate. Texas, for example, has nearly twice as many gun retailers as museums and libraries - but contains so few family planning clinics that many women are forced to travel several hundred miles out of state. http://data.mysanantonio.com/texas_gun_stores_compared_to_museums_and_libraries/

Wc626, if you can stomach a real comparison, I'd suggest you consider a world in which a potential gun owner is forced to view photos of the horrific damage guns do to the human body, wait for 48 hours, and then only be able to purchase a gun at a hospital with an accredited psychological staff. You wouldn't find that oppressive at all as long as you could get your gun on, would you?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

ooops. Meant to say I'm not pro-life. But keep thumbing me down if it makes you feel better, whoever you are.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Who cares. I'm from southern CA.

Your thinking is warped pop your bubble and Coke down to earth

Relax. I'm a frivolous poster. Never take me serious, I just like to stir the pot.

@Fizz. Me too. But its okay. When they thumb you down, you've just stirred the pot that much more.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Since its inception Planned Parenthood has directly ended the life of around 7,000,000 people. Planned Parenthood killed 327,653 people in fiscal year 2014 alone. Planned Parenthood receives over 50% of its annual income from the fees charged for abortions in its clinics.

At around 13% of the US population, African Americans account for over 30% of abortions on a yearly basis. Latino Americans at 16% of the population account for around 20%. White Americans with over 63% of the population represent around 36% of the abortions. Not only are Black Americans killed at a higher percentage than whites but according to some sources they represent an actual majority with more blacks being killed than whites despite their much smaller percentage of the total population.

Planned Parenthood has stated that they will never deny a client’s wish for an abortion regardless of the reason. So in other words if an expectant mother seeks an abortion from Planned Parenthood because she doesn’t like the gender of her fetus, Planned Parenthood will kill it for her.

From a non-pro choice perspective, Planned Parenthood is, at the least, a business that generates the majority of its income from the contract killing of completely innocent and helpless individuals. At worst, it is an organization that not only kills the helpless for money but is also doing it as an accomplice in the State sponsored genocide of people of color.

Maybe Robert Lewis Dear represents the extreme radical fringe of the pro-life movement or maybe he’s just a guy that feels murder on such an industrial scale is just something that cannot go unpunished.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

@smithinjapan

"Nope, they've never done that. Not during the Crusades"

Err...uuumm. it's kind of hard to "round up" people who died 1,500 years ago.

"Meanwhile, Republicans are saying this is not about Religion,"

Canadians said the same thing about the Muslim gunman who murdered a soldier and ran in the Parliament. Canadian police described his actions as "ideological." Let's not use the M-word, eh?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The term 'pro-life' is stupid - even pro-choicers are pro-life. The terms should be pro-choice and anti-choice. That's much more accurate.

Canadians said the same thing about the Muslim gunman who murdered a soldier and ran in the Parliament. Canadian police described his actions as "ideological."

Turns out Canadians are pretty smart.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"Turns out Canadians are pretty smart."

Then so are the Republicans who say the clinic shooting has nothing to do with religion.

Both deny the influence in religion in such violence, which makes them "pretty smart." (Lazy liberal logic at work again.)

0 ( +1 / -1 )

See your mistake is seeing fundamentalism as the representation of the religion, rather than the perversion of the individual. If it were the representation of the religion, all members of the religion, or nearly all, would be that way espoused by the fundamentalists. The fact that it is only fringe members shows that the problem isn't the religion as a whole, but rather screwed up individuals. And you can find screwed up individuals in almost any group, not just religious ones.

By your reasoning, you would have to condemn all of America for the actions of this one individual, as he is a member of America, and likely thought he was making America a better place.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

"Maybe Robert Lewis Dear represents the extreme radical fringe of the pro-life movement or maybe he’s just a guy that feels murder on such an industrial scale is just something that cannot go unpunished."

That's as scary a sentence as I've read on JT. Just a regular guy with a conscience?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If religious headbangers like Carson or Huckabee had their way, the US would be dragged down to the level of spending money looking for Noah's Ark

Or worse, spend money to try and let Armageddon come true because they just cannot wait for their beloved Savior to come back. This translates to endless wars and chaos in the Middle East.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Ladies! Get your voting cards ready. The Republican party is no longer normal. OK, I understand the argument on tax cuts, less government etc. But they have turned into a circus party. They are now taking on an unpleasant political situation that was settled decades ago. The Republican party has become the party of the Jesuses. They are a bunch of clowns. They want to control your body and the only way to fight back is that little piece of paper that gives you the ability to command what happens in the USA. Vote with your bodies ladies. The Republicans are not your friends. They don't deserve to lead because they are obsessed with an issue that was both settled and has nothing to do with leading a country in the right direction. A lot of this is up to you ladies. Vote!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The Republicans are not your friends.

In the US, that's what a lot of "low income" people say. No wonder they lower classes traditionally vote (D).

The Republican party is no longer normal.

Right. But D. Trump is pretty entertaining. Did you guys see him mocking the cripple with the inverted hand gestures saying, "I don't remember-I don't remember!" ? That was comedy central.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"No wonder they lower classes traditionally vote (D)." Louisiana (Jindal)? Mississippi? Alabama?

Then look at smart states like Connecticut.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Then look at smart states like Connecticut.

nishikat- Didn't you say (in another JT Forum) that America is finished? Now all of a sudden, you're saying Connecticut is a smart state? Yes, it is. In fact there are lots of smart states, higher learning institutions and innovative individuals in the US. . . . No wonder why everyone & their mother wants to emigrate to the United States of America.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

No wonder they lower classes traditionally vote (D).

Say what?!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

No, I was echoing you. You are worried about just thousands...at most tens of thousands of refugees when you say nothing about MILLIONS of Muslim immigrants who are entering and number is supposed to top 6M before long. Bad for the Budweiser business. But it's trashy beer anyway when modern American beer lovers enjoy micro brew. Now the white people who live in seclusion in forests like this guy are being pushed by the Republican part to shoot up clinics...based on lies like "no more body parts"

The Republican party have become the part of the extremist clowns.

Who in their right mind would want to immigrate in one of those southern poor Conservative states? People there are not the smartest cookies. Look at what happened to Sureshbhai Patel for just walking down the street.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Who in their right mind would want to immigrate in one of those southern poor Conservative states?

Right. Not me. Sunny, southern CA tops.

People there are not the smartest cookies.

Maybe so, maybe not. Perhaps other countries should get their acts together and start creating favorable conditions for their citizens . . . . that way, everyone & their mother don't try to come to the United States of America for a "better life."

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Perhaps other countries should get their acts together and start creating favorable conditions for their citizens

I think that's what Mexico did, which is why net immigration from Mexico is now in the negative numbers. The Mexicans figure Mexico is a better place to live than America now.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The Mexicans figure Mexico is a better place to live than America now.

Good. There are enough already in CA. And well established unlike their parents or grandparents who first emigrated to the US.

They often own land and beautiful ranches in Mexico. As their income in the US is slowly invested and sent "home" to Mexico. They proudly display (in their US middle class neighborhoods) the Mexican Flag on mexican national holidays too.

The chinese are doing this too. Except the chinese have way more cash and actually create jobs in the CA job markets. Isn't america great?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Maybe so, maybe not.

Definitely not smart. Look at average earnings of their citizens.

the United States of America for a "better life."

In other words "The United States of America is the only developed country in the world.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"Oh, you again. "NO." -but everyone and their mother wants to go there. Ever been to Disneyland? The happiest place on earth. Yeah, that's american too-"

I can understand some people wanting to live in the US ( not Texas - if ISIS could be persuaded to switch religious brands, they'd feel right at home with gun-totin, religious crackpots ). There are some fantastic places.

I'd go for Europe myself. Disneyland is nice for people under age 10 but you should have grown out of it by now.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I don't agree with anything you have ever said as you consistently defend gun ownership immediately post massacre.

Really? Even on comments that have nothing to do with firearms you have conscientiously refused to agree with anything else I have said on any other topic because of my comments on guns?
