God save the second amendment!

Those whining about "politically correct" and "progressives" should be asking where was the "good guy with a gun", who the NRA assures us will show up and save the day in these situations.

What would the NRA do if 'the good guy with a gun' turned out to be a gang member with an illegal gun...

I think it may make their heads explode.

Just wait for the Republican brigade to arrive to say it wouldn't have happened if everybody had a gun, or if there was just a big wall to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in, or if Muslims were banned from entering the US, or if only the Republicans had all the power so the African-Americans wouldn't be resorting to crime, or...., or...

Why do we have to wait for the republican brigade? We have you! And you seem to have the low IQ angle covered quite well.

Again and again and again . . . . . . . .

RIP to the innocents killed. No doubt the gun and ammo makers will once again see increased sales of their products as a result of this latest mass murder. Most likely the buyers will be those adding to their own private arsenals of lethal weapons, putting even more guns in their hands and in circulation. The gun industry and the gun hobbyists have made the US an increasingly dangerous place for people to live - and visit. Sick.

It's the perpetrator who committed the killings. In a land of no guns at all he would still kill people with something else.

God save America from the second amendment!

It's funny you say that when the article mentions another incident where a maniac went on a stabbing spree but killed a big fat ZERO people. And the only gun-holder who stepped up to put him down was an off-duty policeman.

Okay, let's check to boxes. Islamic? - No. (Actually, that was the only box to check. Move along, citizens, move along.)

Of course it was the perp. The rifle has the best lawyers - and lobby - that money can buy.

@SenseNotSoCommon - Love your two posts ! Especially the first one ! (9:03 PM JST) Why can't more people see this ?

Reminds me of the Munich shooting. The image of the shooter that was released by authorities is rather grainy, but good enough that anyone who knows the shooter will recognize him and help law enforcement capture him.

Nothing wrong with the 2nd amendment, just the people that like to twist it's meaning again and again.

"Hispanic" looking doesn't mean he was Hispanic. Coulda been of Italian, Spanish, South American, or Middle Eastern ethnicity. Can't wait for the full information once the investigation turns them up.

And yes, we do have the NRA to thank for more of this. I don't even own a gun and they've been calling me about the "threat" to "my" gun rights for the upcoming elections and such. (Expletives x1000) are pouring from my mouth at them.

So, I guess you're saying you don't need guns to defend yourself.

I guava would be just as effective.

Good to know.

@Black Sabbath

I guava would be just as effective.

You got a thumbs up from me on that one. Mainly because I have seen weaponized guavas in action.

Awhile back my middle school aged son got turned on to primitive weapon technology as part of a science project at school. The gist of the project was to identify, describe and demonstrate the scientific principles behind ancient technologies and give examples of those principles in current usage. The team my son was in was assigned the sling (as in David and Goliath).

Long story short, the team learned how to make and use the ancient sling and used the gravity assist maneuver for space travel as an example of current usage. In learning to use the implement it became apparent that consistent projectiles were fundamental in getting the most consistent results. Golf balls were a natural choice, but they cost money and had a tendency to get lost. So the team opted for something that was fairly consistent, readily available locally and best of all free. Guavas!

Those kids spent a lot of time in my backyard getting pretty proficient at slinging guavas. One team member got so good she could hit a soda can, at a measured 40 feet, with just about every guava she slung. And let me tell you, a green guava is pretty hard (as the dents in my fence can attest) and a well placed head shot with one would definitely put a serious hurt on someone.

You may have been joking with your comment but I can tell you, a guava can be just as effective, in the hands of a skilled slinger, as a handgun at close range.

No need to guess anything. If there were no guns at all neither criminals nor those who want to defend themselves would have guns. .

Ossan

That is not the point. The point you raised, btw, that people kill. By whatever means they have.

I really don't understand why you pro-gun people half pretend guns aren't tools very good for killing. Guns make it easier. That is their design, function and purpose.

Its why so many of you love them.

No believes any of you when you blabber on about how guns don't make killing people easier.

Its why you use them.
