If these submarines are based on the French nuclear submarines, I'm not surprised that Australia chose them. France's SSNs are relatively small, so it's conceivable that they could be scaled down to fit Australia's needs. That would be better than any conventionally powered submarine.

Of course, it may be a bit of a risk, but if they're willing to take it, fair enough.

It will take at least 10 years to deliver first Submarine and budget blow out and then another 10 years to fix problem. The Sub will be decommission after the problem was fixed that I learned from Collin Class Submarine project.

As a Country that's Too broke to look after its Elderly that paid taxes all their life How are they going to pay for these monstrosities of death. yes Australia is now back into business Buy faulty antiquated coffins from overseas. Then make the poor Ausy workers fix them .These Submarines are of old Technology that is no longer Viable in War We should be Looking at Better missiles To protect out Own borders not overseas problem Areas.
