I cant understand why if someone wants an abortion they would wait until 24 weeks to have it? How many abortions are actually performed after about 12 weeks anyway, and for what reasons? I would have thought the vast majority of people who dont want the baby, are keen to have an abortion as quickly as possible anyway.
I have never had an abortion and I dont think I ever could, but I would never ever tell someone they couldnt have one, or judge them for it. But I am shocked that the counselling is being given by organisations who make money out of performing abortions. That sounds like a major conflict of interest to me.

I concur. It's a simple conflict of interest, and I would say the same thing if a government was paying an anti-abortion group to give counseling.

That is quite a rock in the road of her thinking. Women should be able to choose the counseling they want. If any two legally recognized/or licensed judges, counselors, doctors, elected officials or yes, even priests, offered and gave counseling, that should be that. Women should be allowed to seek the kind of counseling they want, and get the signatures of the people they respect. And if they have them, they should be able to get their abortion. I suppose the signature of the father of the child should also count, if he wants to sign, as well as the mother and father of the woman.

Teenagers too scared to tell anyone.
Women who suddenly find themselves without the support of a partner and unable to cope alone.
I doubt that any woman, unless she was really thick, would simply put off having an abortion till she was 6 months gone simply because she couldn't be bothered to make the appointment.

What is there to debate? Women have rights over their bodies and lives. Does The UK want to have some kind of Taliban style government?
