Thank God for withdrawing Federal funding.Oh my when did that happen must be fake news again..

I never said, it didn't happen, I am saying it SHOULD happen and probably will knowing Trump. I hope and pray that he does cut that lifeline of badly needed funds to fuel that entitlement state. Go for it Jerry, let's see what you got. LOL

Um... howsabout you think before you post:

California contributes more in federal taxes to the US government than any other state, about 40% more than #2 contributor Texas. An administration that starts playing fast and loose with its commitments to California in order to bully them could well end up costing the nation a substantial amount of money.

Has Mr Brown visited the border region in California? There is already a wall along the majority of it.

Did you even read your own link?

In truth, the money isn’t spread out evenly. About 56 cents of every federal dollar spent in California, according to the analysis, goes to health or retirement benefits — Social Security, Medicare and money for low-income residents’ health care through the Medi-Cal program.

Defense contracts are the next biggest slice of the pie, followed by paychecks to military and civilian government employees.

Good luck to any Republican trying to maintain party loyalty while also cutting money to retirees and the military.

Yeah, that money is not going to get touched.

From there, federal spending gets sprinkled among a number of programs run by the state government. Gov. Jerry Brown’s recent budget plan pegged those funds at a total of $105 billion, equivalent to about 58% of state taxpayer dollars to be spent in the fiscal year that begins on July 1.

So not counting the funds that no Republican would dare touch, what California gets from the government is slightly over half of what it gives back.

I like those odds.

Even then, Trump needs California to prosper. Almost 1 in 8 Americans lives here, and the state has created more than 2.4 million jobs since the current economic expansion began seven years ago. He may not like the state’s politics, but Trump the businessman would be wise to see California as a good investment.

I mean, no one expects Trump to think beyond the end of his nose, but I doubt even his most rabid handlers like Bannon are willing to poke that bear. At least not until their Fashy takeover is closer to fruition.

California is pretty badass. Super majority by Democrats, jobs and growth outpacing other states, silicon valley, Hollywood, and they do it with a mix of different people and races. Their big issue is trying to keep it affordable for everyone.

“The wall, to me, is ominous."

Heh, how about the gate around the Governor's Mansion?

Jerry Brown is going to lose this fight because the wall is necessary for the security of our country and most Americans agree with it.

"Mr. Brown - tear down that wall!"

@katsu

You couldn't get a more liberal newspaper than the LATimes? The Daily Kos would have been better. LOL

Despite strong job and wage growth, the Golden State has been losing residents for years and could be facing a shortage of middle-wage workers, according to a report from Beacon Economics released in March. For instance, California's tech scene has been prosperous, but its benefits have been somewhat concentrated. "All the gains aren't coming in support of the rest of the economy, they're coming at the expense of the rest of the economy, " said Christopher Thornberg, founding partner of Beacon Economics. "Folks in the tech industry make craploads of money and they can afford to live there and will force out other people." Plus, California is still a magnet for foreign buyers, who tend to be more affluent. "It makes it harder for the average person to make a living there ," said Khater. "So that means less teachers, fire fighters, retailer workers. It's causing the entire state to become more expensive." To help make life more affordable, residents are trading the beaches and nice weather for states with more affordable housing markets and a lower costs of living. Places like Arizona, Texas and Nevada, according to Khater.

Again, I was talking about the average American in my home state.

And now they've lost an NFL team as well. Maybe Superlib hasn't noticed the exodus. Too many hallucinogens can do that.

I love California, but it just got too expensive to live there, high taxes are the norm, not to mention the political correctness was way out of control. Love to visit, but living there again, naw.
