Third time the charm? Something to look forward to, I guess.

Another Bush as president, when hell freezes over. GWB presidency did not do well, because all the thinking was left to GWB and his people.

Any administration in any nation, will not do well,if all thinking is left to the administration people only.

Knowledge is not hidden secret to anyone and thinking by many is far better than by a group of people, in the administration of a nation. Same applies for company, company will get nowhere if all thinking is left to management. This a big mistake now in today's world stretching from many national leaders to corporate leaders.

What to North Korea and the US have in common? Father-son president combinations.

What to North Korea and the US have in common? Father-son president combinations.

In fact the North Koreans got the idea from Chiang Kai-shek in Taiwan. Having your son succeed you is the best hedge against having your record undone, or even your judgments questioned.

But we live in a democracy where the press is not controlled. And Old George, who in this interview also touted GWB's accomplishments, said something to the effect: "He'll come home with his head held high. His parents are proud of him."

First his wife, now his father talking up his record. What a sad sack of a man! I think the association has ruined Jeb's chances.

I didn't like the former president bush until his son proved to be even MORE of a nightmare. Compared to the current bush, though, this man is actually a little respectable, particularly in his old age.

Anyway, there isn't a chance in hell that his other clown of a son, Jeb, would get into office. I don't believe Americans are dumb enough to allow a third bush in.

Surely he couldn't be as bad as his big brother?

First Bush failure was only economy is stupid.

Second Bush failure was WMD, Sub prime mortgage, Guatanamo, Cyclone Katherina & tillions of budget deficits.

Third Bush success is ???

If this does happen, God forbid, then please let it be after I retire. Having GWB for a CnC was horrible enough.

Just like dai-dai (generational) Japanese politicians.

Just like dai-dai (generational) Japanese politicians.

Probably the next generation is the one to watch:

The Dallas Morning News profiles former Gov. Jeb Bush's eldest son, George P., calling him "the likely heir to a political dynasty and perhaps even the future of the Republican Party.."

"He's our John-John," one woman told the paper as Bush posed for pictures with young Republican donors, casting his appeal in "Kennedyesque terms."

Like Bill Richardson, George P. Bush is a WASP Latino. Given the shifting demographics of the American electorate, that could prove advantageous.

Boy, it is already April 1st. How time flies!

First they need to make John F Kennedy's daughter a senator. Then everyone will be happy. That's what I think.

Poor guy. Senility must be setting in....

If Jeb is President his vacation home would be Disney World. Other than Mitt Romney, the Republicans don't have anyone that can take back the White House even if Barry Obama "Dikenizes" America in the next four years...

The Palin and Jeb Bush ticket....Yuk!

I don't believe Americans are dumb enough to allow a third bush in.

I think they are dumb enough. I wouldn't discount it happening in the future.

Read my lips, if there are WMD in Iraq, I'll vote for a bush. < :-)

Americans should be thankful that Mr and Mrs Bushes have just 'twiddle dee and twiddle dum' for sons. Hasn't Double You's eight years cause enough destruction to a super power such as America? No wonder they say that every mother's goose is a swan.

haha Jed Bush hhhhhaaaaaaaaaa

Any chance Jeb had for President was destroyed by his dopey failure of a brother.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ditto, zurconium

Sadly, Jeb would have propably made a much better president than his brother. They said GB senior cried when Jeb retired the governership becasue he knew it should have been Jeb rather than W, and that there was no way in hell it would ever happen now.

triumvere,

jeb lost his first run for governor in florida while schrub won his first run for the texas job. That put W. in the driver seat for the 2000 run.

Agree that Jeb would have been better than W., but barney would have done a better job as well.

"Agree that Jeb would have been better than W, but barney would have done a better job as well"

Don't know 'bout that, but Barney would probably do a better job than the incoming president is going to do.

Jeb 'n Sarah in 2012!

Or Sarah 'n Jeb in 2012!

At least the old man still has a sense of humor. Jeb for president, yeah right, that is about as likely as some dumb hick from Alaska being V.P.

Sarge - "Jeb 'n Sarah in 2012! Or Sarah 'n Jeb in 2012!"

Ha ha, funny joke - thanks. :-)

Sarge - "Jeb 'n Sarah in 2012! Or Sarah 'n Jeb in 2012!"

Quite clearly, Sarge isn't satisfied with the destruction GWB has wrought on America. Sarge wants more.

Some would call that ambition.

Others wouldn't....

I always liked George senior truth be told, but I'm afraid he's dillusional. After the job that W. did there will not ever be another Bush in the Whitehouse. George W. has poisoned his family's name in politics.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You know, eight years ago this seemed plausible. But after W I doubt another Bush could ever be elected; even if he wasn't related.

Expat, I think most parents are delusional about our kid's abilities or prospects. It's one way to avoid seppuku....

No matter what political family we were to talk about, I would have a hard time supporting three presidents coming from one family. Iran Contra, the Florida recount and w's disastrous 8 years multiply that difficulty exponentially, regarding the bush's.
