France is so pitiful...they allow thousands of immigrants into their country, and then can't figure out what to do with them. Another example of the French doing something without a complete plan. To have allowed the buildup of the Calais camp over the past years is sheer stupidity.

The Europeans are finding out the hard way why every other country on the planet checks people who cross their borders. Certainly cant imagine the Japanese putting up with all of this. LOL.

Whilst developed countries should and do have a moral obligation to help refugees, France is being totally pathetic with this. They have an obligation to vet these people and decide who to deport or who to grant asylum to, regardless of wherever these migrants want to go. If France can't police it's borders then it needs to take responsibility for the people who enter the country illegally. Pointing the finger at Britain is truly pathetic, migrants/refugees should not be able to travel freely through countries choosing where they go, that only adds to the problem of encouraging illegal economic migrants. France has ignored it's deeper problem, now hopefully they will process these people who are on THEIR soil and Britain will help out accordingly.

You guys seems to focus on France, but those immigrants had to go through Europe to end up there. And they're only stuck there because they can't cross the channel ... True though, something should have been done earlier, I mean something else than closing their eyes and hoping they'll cross to UK ...

Well said eppee. Easy to lecture continental europe from borderless countries & islands like Japan, Oz, Nz, Britain.

Americans, Canadians or euros know it's not that easy to control their borders 'humanly'.

Eppee, this article is about France. We all know that other European countries have migrant issues.

Just wanted to point out, has anyone noticed that in every single one of these photos the majority of refugees are MEN? Just something to think about.

No country is obligated to put out it's own citizens in favor of economic migrants. Actually migrants from war torn areas sure, but it should still not be a priority over taking care of ones own citizens.

And now the inhabitants of the camp are setting fires all over the place. What good citizens they will make.
