The true state of affairs of North Korea is extremely opaque.The execution was aimed for the ostentation of Kim Jong Un's absolute power.

Reckless and ruthless, we can handle. Unpredictable, not so much.

The US already has gathered information about this fat boy from school mates and teachers from school in Switzerland. Do not kid ourselves. This fat boy is a cold blooded SOB and he has already murdered more than 100 N Korean political opponents.

He's tough and ruthless... .... and rough and toothless.

I need to add this to my previous post.

What does it mean to Japan and the world? Based on the information given, we need to prepare that this fat kid is not very emotionally stable as a leader, and he can explode any time without any warning ahead. Nuclear weapon and this fat kid is a bad cocktail mix. It can be fatal.

All the evidence gathered up until now strongly indicates Kim Jong Un is a pampered, insecure, sociopath with a unquenchable sense of entitlement. Make no mistake; he's far more dangerous that his father ever was.

Any national political leader with a "kill list", whether trumped up by a kangaroo court or extrajudicially, is a sociopath. There's a long list of them throughout human history and some are living and in office today; Kim is just one of today's murdering leaders.

Lots of people actually help this guy out if it supports their agenda. They might as well put on the uniform and stand next to him.

Well, we don't know for sure if they put him out of his misery, i.e. as Nr.2 having to clap enthousiastically while looking at that bacon neck of lard lad all the time. Perhaps he is breaking up big rocks into pebbles or digging holes in the remote mountains. If not him, all of his neighbors are. His wife, lard lad's aunt, is still with us and was seen upholding this clapping charade, so who knows. We also don't know why Nr.2 was made to leave this valley of tears and who was behind it. Some news sources mention his older brother, who could have been pissed for being overlooked by his daddy for the Nr.1 position. These commies all have one trait in common and that is that they are highly suspiciousof their surroundings, so like Stalin or Mao, lard lad could have seen demons one dark, cold night and decided to off Nr.2 just in case. Maybe the Nr.2 got his daily dose of porn/booze and Nr.1 didn't. That would not have been fair and a clear case of a possible counter revolutionary power grab. Or some other big shot could have wanted to suck up to Nr.1 by spreading some false rumours (see the Inquisition, Stalin, DDR etc.). Or, Like Saddam Hussain, occasionally shoot some unsuspecting big shot between the eyes, as a warning to others, not to get some ideas. I for one, can't wait for this gang of thugs to be rolled up and see the Kim dynasty end at the wrong end of a piece of rope.

i wonder what 'dear auntie' thinks of this whole affair.

According to intel, she is in full Alzheimer and is not in the real world.

The most troubling issue here is that the execution of Jan Song Thaek is shown to the world that the fat boy is cutting a good communication tie with China. Jan Song Thaek was the only one playing a good liaison between China and NK for the time of crisis.

China is the only real power behind North Korea, just like when Cuba stood up to USA Yanquis intervention all the blessing of Moscow!! So, as long as Beijing does not implode just yet, we really do not have much to worry about!! If the DPRK gets too ballsy I'm sure our amigos in Beijing would be the first to slap them upside the head and put Pyongyang back in its place!!

A good point, but China cannot afford to host mass NK refugees flooding to China either

The former basketball is one. Don't know of any others.

why not all the other pregnant Chinese women and those with money are leaving the country

Are you saying why these NK refugees may look for China as a safe heaven destination while Chinese women with money are leaving China? Well, NK refugees have no other places to go. They are trapped in poverty, hunger, and political instability.

North Korea scares the crap out of me. I was waiting for a deathbed order to attack Japan or South Korea from the late Mr. Kim, and it seems like the current dictator is no better. I am interested in China's logic for continuing to back and protect that regime, and what their excuse is going to be when this modern-day Mussolini causes an international catastrophe. Hopefully it's all posturing and chest thumping, but all jokes aside, I'm going to feel safer once I leave the Tokyo area. This guy is whack to the max, and I think his fuse is pretty short.

Does Japan still support North Korean School in Tokyo? I am just curious. Anyone?

@globalwatcher

No. They stopped the subsidies fairly recently (this year I believe). But it was only 6 million yen a year, so probably no big loss>

I'll agree, this kid is a lunatic. Unfortunately there is only one remedy. However,there are powers that are encouraging His behavior. It's like, He is literally a product of cold-blooded destruction served cold. He serves powers that could care less about him or his country, his end will come with little remorse.

"this kid is a lunatic"

He ain't a kid, he be 29 years old, 30 in January, according to some sources.

Kid is probably a definition given by someone who's a geezer, but I'm inclined to think most of us agree that 'lil Kim is as insane as the next sixties Bond villain lookalike...

@John Occupythemoon Daly

Well the reason is most probably such that they do not want a US base any closer than S.Korea. If Korea was once again unified under a "democratic" pro-US government, that would mean just that many more millions of potential enemies on China's border. Rather have a even semi-tractable friendly country than a pawn of U.S. with enhanced military bases and a bigger border to defend. And I dare say China feels they can pull the strings on N.K., since they completely depend on Chinese aid for food and other supplies.
