In terms of damaging disclosures, I'm pretty sure "grab them by the p____" beats "I support free trade" every day.

Leaked campaign emails show 'moderate' side of Clinton

Wow, finally an article goes up about the Wikileaks release and it's a Lisa Lerer whitewash.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

I like Clinton because she's a moderate. What's the problem?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

So she tells some rich bankers what they want to hear and makes off with some of their money. I see no problems. She really grabbed them by the p_____ (different p-word).

2 ( +4 / -2 )

And in speeches to some of the country’s biggest banks, she highlighted her long ties to Wall Street, bantering with top executives and saying that she views the financial industry as a partner in government regulation.

All the more reason she shouldn't be president

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

She tells Xerox CEO Ursula Burns that both political parties should be “sensible, moderate, pragmatic.”

Sensible. Moderate. Pragmatic! {gasp!}

For the love of all that is good and holy in this world, does this woman know no shame?!

How could revelations of a {gulp!} "moderate" Hillary Clinton possibly be upstaged by something so innocent and normal as a father, Trump, encouraging a radio host, Howard Stern, to refer to his own daughter, Ivanka, as a "piece of ass?"

Yes, clearly, MSM is being so unfair to Trump. So, so unfair.

Go ahead, Bass. Spin away. Tell everyone here how unfair the world is being to Trump and then remind us of all of his "good points" that we'd notice if we'd only just give him a chance. Can't wait to read your compelling argument.

Apparently, you don't know anything about Stern. Been listening to him since, forever and there is a reason he's one of the best radio DJ ever. They don't call him the shock jock for nothing....

Yes, clearly, MSM is being so unfair to Trump. So, so unfair.

Pretty much.

Go ahead, Bass. Spin away.

I will leave that to liberals and the MSM, they are doing an excellent job at it.

I don't need to, the people can already see how irrelevant this is. Again, if you want to hammer Trump on taxes and what he has said as a presidential candidate, his medical reports, I get it and the MSM should. But now instead of focusing on the issues the MSM wants to focus on something that Trump said 12 years ago, it's just stupid and shows the desperation from the left. But if libs want to press the issue, then Hillary should be disqualified for calling Blacks Super predators, sure it was a long time ago, but she insulted an entire race. But hey, when 98% of the MSM is liberal and with a political agenda at stake, I am not in the least surprised. LOL

This is hilarious.

If Republicans had run a sane, sober, qualified candidate, this kind of revelation would have destroyed Hillary. Instead, they ran a side-show carnival barker with no shame or self-restraint. They intentionally trained their audience to look at the election simplistically, and now when faced with a candidate who brags about sexually assaulting women right after getting married vs. a candidate who has a complex and nuanced relationship with big business, his audience is focused on the simplest narrative - Trump has no respect for women.

If they'd chosen to elevate the national dialog, they totally could have nailed Hillary. Instead they lowered it, and as a result Hillary's emails are too complex of a scandal to have legs. They shot themselves in the foot and they probably don't even know it yet.

If Republicans had run a sane, sober, qualified candidate, this kind of revelation would have destroyed Hillary.

It was NEVER the choice of the Republicans, it was THE PEOPLE that said, they all sucked and were tired of the Washington establishment. When you have millions of people supporting an outsider like Trump or even a Sanders, it's a sign that both parties are totally broken. Both Trump and Sanders is a total repudiation of Obama and his failed policies. Had Obama been more of an outreach president that was open to compromising, being fair and down the middle and willing to work with the GOP things would have been different.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Is this supposed to be news? Clinton is not a liberal? Of course she isn't. Clinton is in bed with the bankers? Nothing new there. Despite what she says now Clinton will absolutely sign the TPP as soon as she takes office.

If you want to vote for a liberal then neither Clinton nor Trump are for you.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Because HuffPo's headline says it a lot better.

NOT 'moderate', unless you add together her public and professed-only-to-Wall-Street personae to come up with a chimera in the middle.

Hillary Clinton's Paid Speeches Were Totally At Odds With Her 2016 Platform

The Democratic nominee supported fiscal austerity and unfettered trade in remarks to bankers.

bass4funkOCT. 09, 2016 - 10:19AM JST It was NEVER the choice of the Republicans, it was THE PEOPLE that said,

No. It was a portion of the people, and a small minority at that. In how many precincts are non-members of the GOP allowed to vote in caucuses or primary elections? Because if you can't show the evidence for "all of them", then you can't shift responsibility for this away from the GOP.

For decades, the GOP has been training their voters to look at the world simplistically. They drove excellent candidates like Huntsman out for "not being conservative enough" in 2012. Exploiting and misdirecting voters' anger has been an explicit strategy of party masterminds like Rove for years. The culture of the GOP is rotten, and that's why this story will never have legs, no matter how badly you might wish it to or how many Fox News talking points you recycle here.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Well since her speeches are public that should take away the last demand Trump supporters had in him not releasing his taxes. Either that or they were duped.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It wouldn't have mattered what Hillary told the bankers in private; her opponents would have found a way to spin it to put her in the worst possible light.

Did she brag about grabbing any of their crotches? I think that's the Hillary they were all hoping for. This is actually pretty funny.

My gut feel is that if Trump gets the feeling he's really losing the town hall tomorrow, he'll announce right then and there that he's firing himself. That's the trajectory of his tragic campaign.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Had Obama been more of an outreach president that was open to compromising, being fair and down the middle and willing to work with the GOP things would have been different.

Once again you spout this trope.

Obama was both willing to compromise, and did so. That's why you don't see a single payer option for Obamacare. He certainly wanted it. The Republicans didn't. So he worked with them, and the result? Republicans stabbing him in the back by now claiming he wasn't open to compromising or being fair.

Then they shut down the government, because they weren't willing to meet in the middle.

The Republicans seem to think compromise means 'do it our way'. Someone needs to buy them a dictionary.

You lost in 2012 because of this attitude, and now you've got Trump. You deserve everything you've gotten and worse.

Hopefully the travesty that election has been will break the party. There are many sane republicans - they need an option that isn't the loony bin that the current party elite have created.

The choice we have:

A ) Elect Hillary Clinton, a corrupt liar who jeopardized national security

B ) Elect Donald Trump, who said some rude stuff 11 years ago but hasn't lied to the FBI or jeopardized national security, and offers us a chance to fix America's myriad of problems that have been compounded by Obama and Clinton.

This is interesting:

I'm writing in Carly Fiorina for POTUS and Ben Carson for VPOTUS.

Yabits wrote: "Did she brag about grabbing any of their crotches? I think that's the Hillary they were all hoping for. This is actually pretty funny." ... ... HRC did brag about having Gadaffi killed - with a chuckle. Remember this gem, Yabits: "We came, we saw, he died." I'm sure you'd say he had it coming. He was a "bad" man. Clinton's fascination with regime change should be a cause of concern and not how Trump treats women. A woman can retain her dignity in spite of Trump; women will die because of Clinton. Get your heads screwed on right, America.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Lol, the american election process is a true laughing stock to the entire world. The illusion of choice between a narcissistic liarand a narcissistic pervert. Keep them hits coming. Comic gold!!

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Dont forget issuing an Executive Order basically SUSPENDING the Constitutional Amendment #2. THAT will go over well in Washington.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

If you want to vote for a liberal then neither Clinton nor Trump are for you.

I have read a lot of leftists saying they hope Trump wins. They see Obama and especially Clinton for the war-mongers and Wall Street tools that they are. They see that Trump is hated by all the right people, the Koch brothers, the GOP, etc., and that the media is on overdrive trying to destroy.

It's pretty obvious who wolves of Wall Street are afraid of, and it's not Clinton.

Trump may have the wrong temperament for the White House, but he's clearly the only candidate that isn't owned by the bad guys.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Uh yeah. A "public" position (lie to get elected) and a "private" position (how I really feel and how I can use my power to pay back the people who pay me to talk about what I "cant recall" in public).

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

HRC did brag about having Gadaffi killed - with a chuckle.

Clinton had Gaddafi killed? She gave the order to the rebel forces who surrounded him and his convoy?

A woman can retain her dignity in spite of Trump; women will die because of Clinton.

A very interesting piece of apologia, Bill Murphy. (Many more women would die if Pence and Trump had their way.)

A "public" position (lie to get elected) and a "private" position (how I really feel and how I can use my power to pay back the people..

You're assuming she's telling the truth in private? Politicians tend to be like chameleons, but they will nearly always follow where the votes are.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If Republicans had run a sane, sober, qualified candidate, this kind of revelation would have destroyed Hillary.

A sex tape would still have dominated coverage. But now Trump has to get on TV and counter what her policies are. He has to make it clear that so many establishment Republicans don't support him that he's the true third party candidate fighting for the Deplorables.

In front of a Brazilian bank, Clinton cited that her “dream is hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders.” In front of a Canadian audience, Clinton said she hopes the US can model ours after their system. In front of a Big Bank, Clinton bragged about her “great relationship” with the financial sector and about how much “respect” she has for the industry.

And those are the more benign of her remarks....

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Of course she is telling the truth in private. She took their money and now they expect her to do what she said she would. Come on, what are the paying her for? Her "I dont recall" memories?? What special advice can Hillary tell banks that they dont already know?

Plus the public was not allowed to know what she said in private, but private knows what she says in public. So who is easier to lie to, people who know both sides or people who only know one side? So say what need to say to get elected and then do what she said she would in private. How can there be any other way to do this?

Does anyone really think she wont agree with TPP again AFTER she might get elected by saying she is against it? What did Obama say to Russia while on the "hot mic"? Give me time! got much more "flexibility" after I get reelected.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

But now Trump has to get on TV and counter what her policies are.

How can Trump counter what Clinton's policies are when he hasn't a clue what policy is?

"We're gonna build a wall and make the Mexicans pay for it," is not policy. For all we know, it's just Donald being sarcastic again, or just kidding.

Some have spoke of a "hostile GOP Congress" when Hillary wins, but Trump has made plenty of enemies on both sides. I don't believe he has much hope of winning, but he's one who would go crazy with executive orders until the impeachment proceedings started.

Of course she is telling the truth in private. She took their money and now they expect her to do what she said she would. Come on, what are the paying her for?

They are paying to hear her private views; not those she would necessarily pursue as a public servant.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Shouldn't what you say in private match what you say in public? Since when should how you honestly feel about an issue change depending on who you are talking to? That's called hypocrisy when you do that.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Shouldn't what you say in private match what you say in public?

PRIVATE: "I did try and f— her. She was married." "And when you’re a star, they let you do it. ... Grab them by the p—y. You can do anything.""You know, it doesn't really matter what [they] write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass." etc.

PUBLIC: No one respects women more than me.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

yabits: It wouldn't have mattered what Hillary told the bankers in private; her opponents would have found a way to spin it to put her in the worst possible light.

So it's OK to you that Hillary's positions espoused to bankers are the opposite of what she says to her supporters?

You'll just toss aside the Democratic Party platform the way she does?

It's HUFFPO saying "Hillary Clinton's Paid Speeches Were Totally At Odds With Her 2016 Platform", not FoxNews.

We can expect that what she said in private to the bankers is what she'll actually be working towards.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

So it's OK to you that Hillary's positions espoused to bankers are the opposite of what she says to her supporters?

Yes. Perfectly OK. People like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders will be there to keep her on the straight and narrow. Remember that she's got to run again and win in 2020.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

yabits: Yes. Perfectly OK. People like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders will be there to keep her on the straight and narrow. Remember that she's got to run again and win in 2020.

That's carp and you know it. When did a newly-elected president ever listen to also-rans like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie?

Hillary herself was the exception but that was because Obama wanted her and Bill's supporters for him not against him. Hillary's already got Bernie's support and as many of his voters as she can expect. After the general election, do you think she'll consider herself beholden to him, who can't do anything further for her, or to the bankers, who can?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Yadbits, I think youve got it wrong big time. Bill Murphy and Commanteer have got it right.
