Tellingly, Trump was never able to drag himself beyond irrelevance despite all the hype and bluster.

A stark reminder to everyone - especially his misled supporters - that all that glitters is not gold.

In this case it's just orange.

If you asked KellyAnne Conway what time the sun would come up tomorrow, she would say that Hillary Clinton hates the sun. She's getting credit for admitting they are behind? What's next, credit for admitting the Earth revolves around the Sun? Of course, this is the Republican party we are talking about and given their denial of science who knows if she would actually admit that.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Hillary Clinton doesn't hate the sun, she hates telling the truth. Even Libs know she is one of the worst candidates for the President of the United States. The joke will be on the people who "rig" her into office, as I think she will not even be able to complete her 4 year term if she is elected into office.

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

Trump is Titanium not gold.

Actually Trump is iron pyrite, aka "fool's gold."

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Karl Rove has called it for Clinton, while ABC news did a comparison of how Mitt Romney was at least 10 points higher with white voters than Trump. Of course white men with only a high school edumacation still love them some Trump, but that isn't enough to win as even a non-college grad like Rove can testify.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

It seems the more likely Hillary looks to win, the more extreme the rhetoric from the right becomes.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

while ABC news did a comparison of how Mitt Romney was at least 10 points higher with white voters than Trump.

For Hillary to be up 12 points as that ABC poll would have us believe she would be winning all 50 states. Not possible.

I don't understand how that works. Can you please explain it?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Lizz, for the sake of debate, let's say Trump does win some states. As you know, states with bucketloads of electoral votes like California and Florida are crucial. By an amazing coincidence, those most important states have high immigrant populations. More than half the people in Miami were born outside the US. What will Trump do in the next two weeks to win those key states? Hang around an airplane hangar in Kokomo Indiana talking crap about immigrants to the diehard fanatics?

Andrea Bozek of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate GOP’s campaign arm, said Clinton’s last-minute push to aid Democrats was insufficient to make up for her party’s shortfalls in recruiting competitive candidates this year.

“Democrats have relied on political gravity from the presidential race to carry them across the finish line,” Bozek said.

Unlike the Republicans who have relied on gerrymandering.

StrangerlandOCT. 24, 2016 - 09:34AM JST It seems the more likely Hillary looks to win, the more extreme the rhetoric from the right becomes.

Well, yeah. There are basically only two groups who support Trump- people who want to see American democracy collapse and be replaced with something more authoritarian, and people who see a woman running for president on the heels of a successful black president in a country where the younger generation is mostly okay with LGBT people and non-Christians, and they're terrified. For these people Trump isn't a policy issue (because initially ran on no policies and every policy he's articulated since has been declared unworkable by objective or even conservative-leaning think tanks), it's an identity issue. They've pinned all their hopes on a butternut squash with a golden retriever pelt on top to represent their team, not as a team to produce ideas to make a stable and prosperous country, but a team to show white, straight, Christian men are still special and on top.

The closer they get to seeing their supremacist delusion destroyed, the more terrifying it is to them on an existential level and the more they have to fight. Hence people insinuating the need for Hillary Clinton to be imprisoned or assassinated. In their minds, it's better to have a revolutionary upheaval that undermines the core of American values than to realize they don't get to ride the coat-tails of our racist, sexist past. They would have to get their kudos through their own achievements, and for some people, that's terrifying.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

By an amazing coincidence, those most important states have high immigrant populations. More than half the people in Miami were born outside the US.

But they are not Mexican. Republicans are ahead like 100,000 or so (?) last I head in absentee/early voting in Florida. Whatever he is doing seems to be working (although I will concede California & Massachusetts etc).

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Did it ever occur to anybody that the polls could be wrong?

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Or they could be right, but impact on voting as people get overconfident and think they don't need to vote, or that their vote doesn't matter so they can vote for another candidate as a protest.

As I've said many times, polls mean nothing. Only the vote matters.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

@Lizz

Strangerland already asked about your puzzling comment about 50 states.

I'm not too bad at maths and I like things like this. Can you explain how it works? I don't get it either.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Not all the polls are right or wrong obviously because they are so disparate. But the ones that have been right in the recent past like USC, IBD, PPD, Rasmussen in particular are all showing Trump ahead.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Go Trump! Get the these left and right wingers out of office. Nothing but corrupt. Americans seem to be asleep at the wheel by not demanding change.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

"Karl Rove has called it for Clinton"

I remember Rove having something approaching a psychotic episode on Fox News when Fox called Ohio for Obama in 2012. It was quite scary. Given the general insanity, inanity and vitriol in the studio at the time, the fact that he stood out tells you a lot.

He isn't the best guide.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

otherworldly: Did it ever occur to anybody that the polls could be wrong?

Yep, it has. But I'd rather be in Clinton's position than Trump's.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Yep, it has. But I'd rather be in Clinton's position than Trump's. Clintons position is only spin as far as I am concerned. Lets not forget who controls media.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

@otherworldly,Definitely a liberal media. I think the polls are wrong. they usually are. Just depends on who is doing the polling.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Forget the nasty rigged polls then. Just look at the demographics of major cities in the southwest like San Antonio, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, etc. and tell me how many of the Latino heritage voters (who are not as likely to be new arrivals as in Miami) like the estimated 30% in Phoenix are going to strongly support Trump. They choose the guy who is going to deport as many brown people as quickly as he can, while his European immigrant wife looks on? Use common sense if don't believe the polls.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Just as the Senate is undemocratic, with all states regardless of size given equal representation, so is the electoral college, as the number of electors is equal to the two senators plus whatever number of representatives (population-based) a state has. So Wyoming, whose population is a rounding error compared with California, has 3 electors, while California has 55. As a result, some 13 of the smaller states combined have the same elector number as California. Red states tend to be low-population, rural areas - but even with this undemocratic skew towards red states, Trump is still toast, and the Senate will likely go blue.

I'm sure once again the House popular vote will favor the Dems, but it will remain blue due to gerrymandering. The Dems need to concentrate on capturing state governments before the next census and subsequent redistricting.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Unlike the Republicans who have relied on gerrymandering.

Democrats are actively organizing to disrupt Trump rallies, getting paid to hire thugs to beat the crap out of people and you come out with that??? Good lord!

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Brutal!

Oh well, if Clinton is to be the prez, Im prepared for WW3. Im sure her NO FLY ZONE will probably spark a conflict with Russia. Probably the reason why Russia has moved its entire northern fleet towards the middle east.

SO, since Japan relies on 85%+ of all products to be imported, around 50% of food from China, how much food do Hillary supporters have at home? This will not end well. Hillary is definately a war hawk.

The tinier states are in Northeast, from the 13 colonies days, and the days they used to make states a lot smaller, and these tend to be blue.

Picture Rhode Island and Delaware and DC.

Turbo, states like Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Montana, and Alaska - all reliably red - only have three votes each. We're talking population, not physical size; even tiny Delaware has a larger population than all the above save Wyoming (yes! - larger than Alaska!).

CHRIS WALLACE, FOX NEWS SUNDAY: Then there are the allegations about the Clinton Foundation and pay to play, which I asked Secretary Clinton about in the debate, and she turned into an attack on the Trump Foundation.

But, Bob, I want to go back to the conversation I was having with Robby Mook before. When -- when you see what seems to be clear evidence that Clinton Foundation donors were being treated differently than non-donors in terms of access, when you see this new -- new revelations about the $12 million deal between Hillary Clinton, the foundation, and the king of Morocco, are voters right to be troubled by this?

BOB WOODWARD, THE WASHINGTON POST: I -- yes, it's a -- it’s corrupt. It's -- it’s a scandal. And she didn't answer your question at all. And she turned to embrace the good work that the Clinton Foundation has done. And she has a case there. But the mixing of speech fees, the Clinton Foundation, and actions by the State Department, which she ran, are all intertwined and it's corrupt. You know, I mean, you can't just say it's unsavory. But there's no formal investigation going on now, and there are outs that they have.

Yes, because whatever you think has been going on at Trump rallies has nothing at all do with congressional races, which is actually what this article is about. In case you hadn't bothered to read it properly.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

I like to gamble on elections and those predicting a Trump win can absolutely clean up at the bookies.

I've seen 5/1 on Trump winning and there is plenty more to be made on Trump wins in places like Florida and Virginia.

Lizz in particular will never have to work again. Champagne and oyster breakfasts.

Bass, I couldn't find any odds on Obama declaring martial law in the next two weeks but Ben Carson is 1000/1 to be the next president.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Laguna: Turbo, states like Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Montana, and Alaska - all reliably red - only have three votes each. We're talking population, not physical size; even tiny Delaware has a larger population than all the above save Wyoming (yes! - larger than Alaska!).

Your concept may be skewed if you insist on calling out red states and ignoring blue states.

Vermont is next above Wyoming in population, so below all other states, has only 40K population more than Wyoming, an increase of about 10 percent, but votes blue.

Look at an electoral map of carried states from the last election, 2012: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ElectoralCollege2012.svg

See all those little states at upper right so tiny they have to have lines drawn from the states off the map to where their electoral counts are? All blue.

I'm not saying if you crunch all the skews you won't see a bias favoring red (or maybe blue). But when I didn't find a list of states sortable by electoral vote count on wikipedia, I got bored and stopped. If you feel like tilting at it, please let us know results.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@jimizo

interesting! 5/1 odds in Florida?

If the polls this year trend anything like BREXIT, than Trump may actually have a pretty good shot!

Say, do you know if there is any odds for Obama declaring martial law under some kind of disaster and cancelling or "delaying" the elections?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

"interesting! 5/1 odds in Florida?"

The 5/1 was for Trump winning the election. 11/4 on him winning Florida.

"If the polls this year trend anything like BREXIT, than Trump may actually have a pretty good shot!"

I'm not sure the Brexit is a perfect comparison for many reasons but some of the figureheads of the Brexit like Farage ( now Trump's friend ) and Johnson are deplorables. Many voters didn't want to admit they shared ideas with these toilet dwellers.

I still think Trump could win. I'm just wondering how confident the Trump supporters really are.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yes, because whatever you think has been going on at Trump rallies has nothing at all do with congressional races,

"Think?" Wow! Deflection all the way, Dems are caught red-handed video admitting the shenanigans and doing the most dirty and sleazy tricks in order cast Trump in a bad light, to cheat and get more votes, it has everything to do with the Democrats and the lack of ethics they have in this campaign. especially this one!

which is actually what this article is about. In case you hadn't bothered to read it properly.

Yeah, uh-huh, deflect once again, so please tell me, how or what are the ideas and the strategies of the Dems to corner more votes besides campaigning on......I'm sorry, what is she campaigning on again?

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Thanks for the map, Turbo - thumbs up.

I don't feel like crunching the numbers now, either, but a quick look shows five 3-delegate red states vs. three blue; on the other hand, there are four 4-delegate blue states vs. one red. So perhaps they even out and you're correct, though I still think the map has a red bias - probably minor, but there, and this is what allowed Bush to beat Gore despite losing the popular vote; the reverse would be more unlikely.

Pfft. This article is about the Democrat's chances of winning more seats in Congress, which Karen Bozek said are reliant on Hillary Clinton's chances of winning the presidency, and yet you bring up all this irrelevant stuff about violence at Trump campaigns and have the gall to accuse anyone else of deflection?

In case you hadn't noticed, deliberately or otherwise, I didn't actually dispute the Republicans' claim. Karen Bozek is, to a greater or lesser extent, probably right. She just didn't say anything about the kinds of dirty tricks Republicans have been getting up to, which you of course aren't going to want to talk about even though you're always claiming to hate them just as much as you do the Democrats.

I already gave my input about it.

In case you hadn't noticed, deliberately or otherwise, I didn't actually dispute the Republicans' claim. Karen Bozek is, to a greater or lesser extent, probably right.

A lesser extent, if it were greater, Trump would be 50 points ahead.

She just didn't say anything about the kinds of dirty tricks Republicans have been getting up to, which you of course aren't going to want to talk about even though you're always claiming to hate them just as much as you do the Democrats.

I'm ready, go on and divulge what you have on the GOP and I will show you what we know for years and what Wikileaks has confirmed what the Democrats have been doing. You're looking at 30 to 1.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

So you have nothing to say about the Republican State Leadership Committee's dedicated efforts to slime Democrat state legislators with an aim to securing Republican majorities in legislatures that would allow them to re-draw district boundaries for their own benefit? It's called Project REDMAP and they spent $30 million on it.

Now, what do you "know for years"? Whatever dirty tricks the Democrats have been getting up to they can't have worked all that well because they don't control Congress, and in terms of odiousness I don't know how they compare with relying on Russian cyber-attacks to smear an opponent.

I never said the Republicans don't engage in dirty tricks, I am aware of that and No, I don't approve of nay trickery, my problem is, the Democrats went way beyond and then some over the line of anything that I have seen in my 35 year career, just off the charts.

Ahhh, you mean something the Dems try to deflect again, so where is the proof, NOT one Dem has any proof of the Russians and the GOP in deep collusion with one another if there is, if it comes out and there is video of it, that would be huge and bad if that were the case. But beside that, everything else that the Dems have from the FBI to Hollywood, the MSM in their pocket, I would say, the Dems are supreme when it comes to trickery and thuggery. As I have always said, the GOP are NOT that smart to be that sneaky. Although, sometimes, I wish they were.

"In a rare admission of fallibility by the typically boastful Trump, his campaign acknowledged he’s trailing Clinton as Election Day nears."

I think this is what hurts bass4funk and others the most; they deny reality so much and believe in any drivel that comes out of Trump's mouth about Democrats (or even when he attacks others in the GOP!) that they have to choose between Trump admitting he is losing, or denying what Trump says. I think I can actually hear heads exploding!

bass4funk: "my problem is, the Democrats went way beyond and then some over the line of anything that I have seen in my 35 year career, just off the charts."

NOTHING tops Trump's dirty tricks and negativity in the history of the US. NOTHING. Even the Republicans admit it and have turn tail and run to try and save their skins as the party cracks under their little experiment. You know it, and hence the constant deflection.

...and the beat goes on. I just find it supremely ironic that the Clinton apologists here, who obviously have swalled the corrupt corporate media slogans, refusing to do any research of their own, are insinuating that the Trumpists are somehow all ignorant rednecks. Talk about blissful ignorance!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

@smithjapan,

The same could be said for Clinton supporters.

Clintons dirty lying and corruption easily usurp Trumps wise cracks.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Someone who win more votes in USA will not translate as winner of election. For example, California and New York have huge population. Winning these two can still become loser. Some states have only handful of people. However winning small states can still become winner.

Al Gore won more primary or popular votes after recounting. However George Bush Jnr did not want to keep recounting and requested high court intervention. Judges rewarded George Bush Jnr as winner. Al Gore reluntantly accepted the verdict of Judges as national interest. It was not looking good for powerful elite intervened election outcome.

Both Trump and Bush are committed to win even they lose. Therefore Cliton may become another Al Gore.

Unlike other election, Gentleman Trump reputation has been ruined by countless women. Unlikely Trump will give up the trophy he has been dreaming for a long time.

Loser definition can not be found in the dictionary of Donald J Trump. He was born to be ruling not only this earth but also other planets as well.

Listen, that comment doesn't move me one bit, at this point, it's clear, both parties are in it for themselves and want to uphold the status quo, so please spare me, I want them to run far away and from the Wikileaks, the Democratic party is starting to come unglued as well, we'll probably see a Democratic Spring real soon. WilliB,

refusing to do any research of their own

The "research" has been done on the vast majority of right wing claims against Clinton and the vast majority of them have been found, well, lacking, if I want to be polite. The single greatest problem with the sources you live and die by is that they aren't even remotely impartial, and are more interested in assumption, speculation, and hearsay than in actual, 100% verifiable facts. The conclusions drawn by the sources you tend to favor are based almost entirely on, "Well, if it walks like duck and quacks like a duck, then..." wholly ignoring the fact that there's a penguin staring them in the face. These sources take rumor and opinion pieces gathered from the assorted blogs and personal website of unaccredited amateurs who function largely off of gut feeling and personal distaste for the object of their ire.

That's not research. It's not journalism. It's not proof. The vast majority of the right's case against Clinton is one giant, long running letter-to-the-editor.

I think Clinton is right to help her fellow politicians. Good for her...now that I believe I said something quite relevant to the article, I hope I won't be deleted by liberal moderators...

"Loser definition can not be found in the dictionary of Donald J Trump. He was born to be ruling not only this earth but also other planets as well."

I am not American and adore reading and observing the comment scuffle, and it is this quote above that for me is so revealing about attitudes toward Trump. He is not some monster, but liberals seem to truly hate him. Why? Other posters (supporting Trump or neutral-minded) consistently get down-votes for writing their opinions or projections. Clinton supporters don't seem to suffer those consequences. Perhaps it is revealing. Also, I believe liberals might be radicals and incite violence at enemy rallies. I will get down-voted and perhaps deleted for expressing my views...

That would depend on the person you are asking,

I don't get the poll comparison with Brexit - the polls were more or less right, it was the bookies that got it so wrong. I do, however, get the similarity on the mindless basket of deplorables that have been wound up by lies and politicians willing to put their egos and careers before the survival of their on countries.

The Trump supporters proudly using this comparison might also want to have a look what's happening in Britain right now as the government fumbles around in the dark and where the value of the currency has dropped to Great Recession levels. But then again, that would require independent thought so I guess typing this last paragraph was an absolute waste of time.....

This is straight out of the DNC. This is meant to demotivate Trump supporters. Fear not. 10s of thousands show up to Trump rallies compared to 100s at Clintons. Trump supporters are super motivated! It is one thing to answer your phone and say which candidate you like, it is completely different to get up off the sofa, wait in line and vote!

This article is GOOD NEWS! Clinton supporters will feel that it is in the bag and be more motivated to skip out of voting since they may feel that she will win automatically!

Nobody could win an election by himself. Hilary Clinton has been fortunately supported by a lot of people, including though not limited to President Obama and First Lady Mitchell, VP Joe Biden, the Democrat leaders, even some key GOP leaders, as well as the independents who hope for a reunified nation and peaceful transfers of power. The Presidential election, however, is often a 15-round heavy weight fights. Clinton clearly won the first three rounds over Trump the Psychopath. The remaining rounds will depend on the other Democrat leaders and, especially, the victims of Trump's self-confessed sexual offenses. Clinton needs to protect her natural supporters, as well as to maintain good relations with the mainstream media. Best wishes.

Trump for Potus!

We cannot have an invalid for President!!!!!!

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

TOO FUNNY!

You must mean Clinton the reincarnated version of Satan.

Clinton who; shames Slick Willys victims, helped supply HIV tainted blood around the world from prisoners, vicitm shamed a 12 year old rape victim and laughed about it, laughed about killing Gaddafi, destroyed Libya, created ISIS, charged countries a fee to talk to her official position, stole donation money from Haiti, illegally destroyed evidence from her illegal use of a server, called at least 25% of Americans deplorable and not America, supported open boarders and NAFTA, TPP, TIPP, called black kids super predators, is sponsored by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, etc., plays nuclear chicken with Russia (NO FLY ZONE!), created the European migrant crisis, etc etc etc........

That is just off the top of my head........

Seems youd need to be in some kind of Nazi super trance to not realize that this person (if she is human) is not in anyones best interest!

Just finished Stallons "First Bolood". Always brings me to tears at the final scene. Classic flick. Vietnam, Afghanistan....veterans are offing themselves in record numbers. Hey, did anyone realize they don't even have a name for the afghan War? Interesting piece of propaganda by the hegemons. Don't give it a name so there's nothing for the lexicon.

And on to the election. You lefties wanna put a hegomonic warmonger in the Oval Office. Shame on you!

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

@FizzBit

Hey I hear you man!

15 years of war to protect and expand poppy field cultivation. As far as I know, poppy fields only exist in Northern India and Afganistan. In 2015, America had record breaking amounts of opiates arriving in America. 2016 is set to break that record. Is open borders to blame with Mexico? I`m pretty sure Mexico is the cocaine gate way. So, HOW DOES PRODUCT GO FROM THE MIDDLE EAST TO NORTH AMERICA?

I wonder if Hillary and friends have a clue? HSBC in intimately involved with the Clinton Foundation. Historically they were responsible for the opium wars in Hong Kong under the title "The East India Co."...

Right on!

Read a story just last week about tainted heroin killing a young couple with a baby girl in the crib. Just like the CIA importing crack to the inner cities in the 80's. Somebody is bent on destroying the US. Let's blame Putin...LOL. Disgusting bunch of people those Hillary supporters. Evil to the bone and they don't even know it because they are tools in the tool box.

FizzBit OCT. 24, 2016 - 06:10PM JST Hey, did anyone realize they don't even have a name for the afghan War?

Sure they did it was Operation Enduring Freedumb. Everyone knows this. Even Serrano who blindly supported all those wars and everything did before his epiphany to Trump and another election Prediction implosion.

For info I'm not sure watching Rambo as a cultural reference is particularly relevant, the FSB handbook can't be that outdated surely?

GO HILLARY ! I'm with her ! 1/20/17 - "Madame President" !

Aaahh... bitter comments are going to make this all the sweeter.

On a slightly less optimistic note, I was hoping Hillary would do so well that even Oklahoma and Wyoming would turn blue and we get the house as well. Seems that's 1 step too far. Oh well, have to settle for the presidency and the senate then, try again in 4 years :)

"And on to the election. You lefties wanna put a hegomonic warmonger in the Oval Office. Shame on you!"

The alternative being a petulant manchild who wants to expand the military, wipe out ISIS and starts tweeting crazed stupid s### because some people gave the finger to Americans?

@Madvers If I remember correctly, the polls regarding the Brexit were a lot tighter than this but most had remain slightly ahead. The bookies odds were skewed by the amount of cash placed. No doubt the Trump supporters here will shrink Trump's odds with the money they'll surely place given their certainty.

I think the distinction is that the Brexit was an defensible idea which was shared by some deplorables. Deplorables like Farage ( couldn't even win a seat in parliament and is now addressing deplorables in the US ) and Johnson ( immediately sabotaged by horrified Tories ) were not the whole shebang. Old Trotskyites and many Labour voting immigrants voted Brexit.

With Trump you are voting for a one-man show and he's a pure, unabashed, balls-out deplorable.

Agreed, but today's 12 point margin days from the election isn't comparable. Also, many people were embarrassed to vote Brexit, racists preferring to remain in the closet. We certainly don't have that with Trump's Deplorables who seem quite happy to flaunt their racism, bigotry and sexism finally released from decades of closet behaviour by Dear Leader.

The numbers simply aren't there. The GOP leadership know it. Even Trump knows it, he's preparing for defeat. I imagine (or hope) at least the Secret Service have warned him about inciting violence on poll day when this miserable circus finally comes to an end and this disgraceful individual heads back up Trump Tower to fight his upcoming bankruptcies and accusations of sexual assault....

Americans' favorite national sport is complaining about their government. This is nothing new -- try googling Will Rogers and see the kind of remarks the Oklahoma cowboy comic used to make back in the 1930s. Franklin Roosevelt had to fend off Republican attacks while trying to pull the US out of the Great Depression, and some people today are still convinced he knew about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in advance. Americans are not going to change, but the lessons of history show that they will band together to face an external threat. Grass roots movements like the Tea Party haven't been instrumental in changing the status quo. I think the last major social shift took place between 1963 and 1974, when one president was assassinated and another was forced to resign to avoid impeachment.

That's the military's operation name. I see what you did there and good for you. I hope you come to realize that Hillary is no different from Bush.

Who cares what you think. You support a warmonger and that's all that matters to me.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

The delusions of Trump supporters once again is just appallingly sick. I didn't know people were this far gone and mentally disturbed.

Or they could be right, but impact on voting as people get overconfident and think they don't need to vote, or that their vote doesn't matter so they can vote for another candidate as a protest. As I've said many times, polls mean nothing. Only the vote matters.

@Strangerland you pretty much have specified the sad "logic" of many American's. Some don't see it as a civic duty to get of their buttocks and take the hard earned opportunity to elect officials through the democratic process. Some folks don't know what they've got... until it's GONE.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

All 50 states????

Trump has some interesting supporters with some very entertaining theories.

pointofview: "Clintons dirty lying and corruption easily usurp Trumps wise cracks."

Only a Trump supporter would call sexual assault, and admitting you do it, "wisecracking". Well done.

WilliB: "are insinuating that the Trumpists are somehow all ignorant rednecks."

How much research do you need? Just look at the comments, and supporters themselves! People calling sexual assault "boys being boys" and talk about it "locker shenanigans"; look at the KKK supporting Trump, and the trailer trash saying that "If he wins it's legit, if not we'll start a revolution and shoot Hillary!" Although, granted, the rich old white men who also make up his base might not think of themselves as white trash.

SuperLib: "Trump has some interesting supporters with some very entertaining theories."

Exactly! And now they have to admit to themselves that Trump is either lying about losing, or is wrong, or that he's just plain losing... and I don't think they can bring themselves to do the latter. Hence the hysterical deflection and conspiracy theories. As if WilliB needs more proof!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

That's a highly subjective statement.

Not if you're Bernie or his strongest supporters.

Sorry, asking? Who's asking anything? Well, why not ask Mike Pence?

"I think there's more and more evidence that implicates Russia," the Indiana governor said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

I think doesn't imply that's it is a matter of fact or it is concrete in stone, it is plausible, a guess, a surmise.

Oh really, you claim to have worked in the media for decades and you don't know what a metaphor is?

Liberal humor again? Yawn.....

The numbers simply aren't there. The GOP leadership know it. Even Trump knows it, he's preparing for defeat.

How on Earth would you possibly know that? Or are you trying to tell us something going on in the Trump camp you may possibly know that we don't?

I imagine (or hope) at least the Secret Service have warned him about inciting violence on poll day when this miserable circus finally comes to an end and this disgraceful individual heads back up Trump Tower to fight his upcoming bankruptcies and accusations of sexual assault....

I'm still not convinced. I'm sure there are those who act like members of civilised society, laughing along with the Trump jokes, but whoop like deplorables when watching Trump mention Elizabeth Warren on TV.

I just wonder if any posters here would make, or have made, whooping noises at a Trump rally. I bet nobody here would admit to it.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

FizzBit: "Just finished Stallons "First Bolood". Always brings me to tears at the final scene. Classic flick. Vietnam, Afghanistan....veterans are offing themselves in record numbers. "

First, you spelled Stallone wrong. Second, using Rambo as a cultural reference? haha. Third, and most importantly, it was Hillary who said we should support the vets; Trump says those with PTSD or mental illness from war are -- his words -- "weak". So, if Trump were in power the number you refer to while so sadly referencing a war movie that brings tears to your eyes, MORE vets would 'off themselves' do to a complete lack of understanding and support.

So, well done, Fizz.

bass4funk: "I think doesn't imply that's it is a matter of fact or it is concrete in stone, it is plausible, a guess, a surmise."

Super: "Trump has some interesting supporters with some very entertaining theories."

Clinton's supporters refuse to acknowledge her absolute corruption and obvious lack of fitness to be POTUS.

Most people are starting to realize that these latest allegations against Trump are BS, and are an attempt by the Clinton campaign to make people believe Trump is unfit because that's all they've got at this point.

And yet...

"Most people are starting to realize that these latest allegations against Trump are BS, and are an attempt by the Clinton campaign to make people believe Trump is unfit because that's all they've got at this point."

No, Serrano. Tsk tsk. Trump's popularity has PLUMMETED since the tape of him ADMITTING he assaults women was aired. It is definitive proof that he is unfit -- there is no 'belief he is unfit'; it's fact. And your denial is all you've got, and the sad comfort you get from watching sweaty white men in their basements making YouTube videos that you seem to think are somehow 'proof' of something.

Are you going to deny Trump lost when he loses? Remember what you said when Obama won in 2008, and again in 2012?

How soon we forget, eh? I think the difference is this time, you guys have reached such a level of denial it has become a form of dementia; you're not going to accept it and will insist it was unfair, and that Trump really won. It'll be a LANDSLIDE, with evidence of what Pence has done in the past -- restricted minorities from voting by moving the polling stations and forming police rackets to harass them until they don't vote -- proving it is TRUMP and his supporters that have been playing with the numbers, but you'll STILL deny it. Your brain is simply no longer to accept the facts.

Then you guys will be so bitter you'll resort to petty revenge tactics like bass4funk gloated about the other day saying, "I can't wait till the House blocks all Clinton's legislation!" because with you guys it's self and party first, not country, and certainly not your fellow man.

But keep on entertaining yourself with right-wing fantasies if you like.

WilliB,

Clinton apologists here . . . refusing to do any research of their own

Whoa! Wait, wait, wait! Are you seriously telling us that Trump supporters have been going out and canvassing witnesses, obtaining material evidence, conducting real world interviews with primary sources, and scouring primary documents pertinent to Clinton and the truckload of garbage she's accused of doing, and compiling a comprehensive, evidence-based argument showing the Hillary Clinton is indeed the Devil incarnate?

Well, hell! If I had known before that you and the rest of Trump's merry little band of misfits had done all this research you feel his opponents have neglected, then that would change my opinion of Hillary immensely!

Okay then, sweet! Now we're talking! Please share your research with us so that we can make a more informed decision.

. . .

Take your time . . .

. . .

I'm waiting . . .

. . .

. . . {crickets chirping} . . .

. . .

Nothing? Sigh...

Maybe you're unable to produce research because it doesn't actually exist, or rather, it doesn't meet the accepted benchmarks that would normally define what real research entails. Opinion-driven blogs and self-published works that aren't peer reviewed don't count as research, I'm sorry to say. Simply saying what you feel isn't proof. Implying a correlation isn't evidence. And flat-out making s#!t up isn't truth.

I can certainly understand how you and many Trump fans might not understand this since you support a candidate who regularly spouts absolute fabrications as a matter of course. But out here in the real world, facts matter. The truth matters.

The unfortunate problem is that the truth now gets chalked up to conspiracy by those who aren't comfortable with it. It doesn't matter how well sourced the truth is, or how well tested, or how well proven. If it goes against one's personal feelings, it's discarded outright as a lie or trick being perpetrated by someone untrustworthy.

Enter the Conspiracy.™

In the past, these conspirators were faceless, nameless entities, fitting more into a James Bond-like plot than in real life. But increasingly, and even more so with this election cycle and spurred almost exclusively by Donald Trump, the Conspiracy™ is apparently made up of:

the United Nations the international community (except Russia) banks Jews feminists good-for-nothing'-welfare-recipients parents-of-children-killed-by-gun-violence celebrities and the people who like 'em immigrants, illegal or otherwise the newspapers magazines the television networks (except FOX and only it it's Sean Hannity) all media companies all corporations the Church the IRS the Federal Courts of Appeals the Appellate Courts the Supreme Court the Department of Justice the education system local election officials polling organizations the Internet the NFL the NBA the dog catcher Paul the pizza delivery guy

All of them, every last one on this list -- and there are many, many more purportedly guilty parties -- is part of a vast global cabal bent solely on thwarting the plans of Trump and his supporters.

That's some conspiracy.

Or maybe . . . and please bear with me here, because this might be hard to grasp . . . or maybe, with that many active conspirators involved, ranging from major pillars of our society to the lowliest part-time poll worker, what we're looking at isn't any sort of shadow conspiracy at all but instead society itself rising up against the hatred, bigotry, and sheer ignorance that Trump and, yes, an alarming number of his supporters wallow in daily.

. . . are insinuating that the Trumpists are somehow all ignorant rednecks.

Well, if they'd just stop behaving like "ignorant rednecks," then it would be much easier to see them as something else. But clearly, that's not in the cards, despite Trump going out of his way to to prove he's a disaster of a candidate.

So to be clear, you don't think grabbing a woman by the genitals without her consent is sexual assault? Do you think it's not illegal at all?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

pointofview,

Here we go 'sexual assault'. In your eyes just looking at a woman is probably sexual assault or some kind of harassment.

I'll just ignore how casually you scoff at sexual assault and ask you to respond to Strangerland's question.

Do you think grabbing a woman by her genitals without her consent is acceptable? Don't deflect. Don't change the subject. Answer the question.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Hillary will. win. Trump is too busy creating new lies.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@LFRAgain, Strangerland,

If there was no sexual assault you shouldn`t twist the story to say sexual assault..

If they dont mind then no it isnt assault. That goes for both genders. And many people don`t mind. have seen it many times at bars and parties (strangers all over one another seconds after meeting).

Hillarys corruption and thuggery is far more important than the tape and accusers. Yet the MSM runs Trumps stories around the clock on him and not her because they are trying to destroy him. Are you too blind to notice that? Plenty of evidence.

You lefties and double standards. Unreal.

Strangerland: Since you ignored the question, I'll ask it again: So to be clear, you don't think grabbing a woman by the genitals without her consent is sexual assault? Do you think it's not illegal at all?

Since you ignored the answer repeatedly, I'll ask again:

Where did Trump say, or where did he even indicate, 'without consent'?

For people who keep complaining about O'Keefe's videos of this past week using claims from 7 years ago of O'Keefe purportedly taking ACORN videos out of context, you sure seem to like taking Trump's statement on the bus out of context.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groping

United States: Groping is considered illegal when there is no consent.

I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.

He indicated it right there. If you don't wait for consent, it's without it.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He said 'they let you do it.' 'Let' = 'consent', were you aware of that?

wiktionary, 'let':
