some Australian Liberal National politicians don't live in the real world . When you bomb some ones homeland to shambles killing thousands and creating hardship / homelessness and stateless refugees. You must expect retaliation from radicals

I believe that the refugee crisis originating from the Middle East derives from two factors. People are fleeing the crazy extremists, like ISIS and the TaIiban, and, secondly, the widespread, long term, and perhaps permanent drought in the Middle East has force millions of farmers off of their lands.
BTW, I have read in other sources that Israelis have solved the problem of desalinating ocean water cheaply, and that currently about 50% of all of the freshwater used in Israel for both domestic and farming use comes from the desalination process. If the article is to be believed, Israelis are currently paying less than half per unit of water than what we here in Southern California are paying for the water that is shipped in over many hundreds of miles.

Ron, what kind of a comment is that? Are you saying that our involvement in Syria, which is a minor one, is to blame for this? A bit more to it than that..
FYI this country has accepted up to 12,000 refugees from the region.
