The next few days are gonna be terror for many areas in the southern states. My uncle lost his house in a bush fire twenty years ago. Hope there are no fatalities and people are prepared to move at a moment's notice. Aussie bush fires are frightening. The oil from eucalyptus trees is highly flammable and the fires can move at amazing speeds when fanned by winds.

In California we also have many bad fires, no idea how the Euculyptus trees made it out to California but even though I love their aroma, once their is a fire they burn real quick! My prayers go out to all the fire victims in Australia.

My heart goes out to the people there, I hope the fires pass by affecting as few as possible. It's easy to forget the immense power of nature in an age of machines, but it's something we can only work with, but not finally control.

This is only a small test for what's to come if 99% of scientists are correct about man-made climate change and the likelihood of a 4 degrees celsius or greater rise in the coming 4-5 decades or sooner. Even the World Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers (the world's largest accounting firm) two bastions of capitalism and an economic growth model, are now sending out warnings.

    Outta here

Ha climate change, yeah sure. Care to explain if this is climate change then how previous days like this have occured in the 1890's, 1930's, 1950's and 1960's. Now that's an inconvenient truth now isn't it? We can't blame global warming for those days now can we.

Fact is it is summer, fact is Australian summers can get very hot. Fact is the danger is high due to fuel loads, you see our last summers where milder and wetter hence loads of fuel growth.

Global warming? Not unless it started in the 1800s. Just something called summer.....
