The cops screwed up with their description of the guy, true. It's still a shame that everyone is immediately trying to politicize what is just another run of the mill mass shooting by a guy with girl problems.

This isn't a left-right thing, nor an immigration issue, an ethnicity or religion thing. It's a societal problem that happens too often.

I don't see how this is a police screw up. If people said he looked hispanic, are they supposed to second guess that?

It only really matters what the cops or eyewitnesses said that he looked like if there were no video. Obviously in this case people can see what happened for themselves. And we don't know what role religion played in his actions, if any, or if there were any connection to a girl. Apparently she doesn't work at the store anymore and hasn't for several months. Not every mass shooting by a Muslim is going to be an act of political terrorism. There are still questions regarding the appropriate level of vetting and deporting of immigrants that commit violent acts.

How in "White Privilege America" can it be allowed for the police to be told what race the suspect appears to be? Didn't Obama make racial profiling politically incorrect already...

Wow! I can't tell you how big of a piece of garbage this article is. As someone who is from Oak Harbor and worked at the same place he did (although not at the same time) and frequented that mall very often, this story concerns me a lot. So, I've been keeping an eye on this story as it has effected a lot of people I care about. One important thing this article fails to mention is that the suspect actually was ordered to see a specialist for mental health issues due to his previous offenses and that is the reason he was banned from owning a firearm and/or drinking alcohol (even though he is 20 not 21). This article needs to stop trying to push this case more towards a terrorist attack do to his ethnic background and report the facts as they have already been stated.

This isn't racial profiling. Racial profiling is when a random person is targeted for questioning based on their race. This is searching for a specific suspect, with the description being of a given race.

It's been reported elsewhere that one of the victims was an ex-girlfriend and another her grandmother who was working at Macy's.

Of course it is racial profiling. He was considered Hispanic by a witness so therefore the group of people classified as Hispanics would naturally be potential targets for questioning. Racial profiling - when a suspect is of a certain race/ethnicity - is common sense and simply good police work and not racism as the social justice warriors seem to think it is. Also, if white males are more likely to commit certain crimes - such as pedophilia - much more than any other group doesn't it also make sense to concentrate policing activity for this particular offense on white males? Surely it does.

It is regrettable that the "founding fathers" made such a colossal error with the 2nd Amendment. Now the society is so saturated with guns that there is NOTHING that can be done -- America is stuck with CONSTANT MASS SHOOTINGS.
