Oliver Stone is crazy. Which is fine. Only foolish people care what he thinks.
It would be nice he made good movies, though.

Actually Oliver Stone was an Obama supporter. I am not sure if he is crazy but the U.S. has become a surveillance state. Obama is not solely to blame for this. This started years ago (before Bush Jr.) and was accelerated by 9/11. I hoped that some of the Patriot Act would have been repealed when Obama was elected but it was not.
I think Mr. Stone is partially right but he should make reference to the fact this has been going on for some time. It is a bi-partisan effort actually.

Obama has been a huge disappointment as president.

I think you're being way too kind.
Haaa Nemui
Me too. To the rest of the presidents of course.

@Black Sabbath,
A left winger defending 24 hr. surveillance? Wow! talk about hypocrisy.

It would be nice he wrote balanced posts, though.
See what I did there?
Stone's documentary "The Untold History of the United States" might open a few eyes if the minds are open enough to even give it a try. Pulls no punches, every modern president is put under his microscope, Obama is no different,no surprise some just will never be able to see reality.

Actually, Leftists and 24 hr. surveillance are a very natural pairing. Leftists can't even begin to implement their utopian schemes without such oversight of the hoi polloi. Just look at the history of the Leftist regimes of the 20th century.

For me this is one reason I always hold extreme partisan discourse in disdain. It divides Americans who really should be united against a government becoming overly involved in our day to day lives. The more Americans engage in fighting each other the less attention seems to get paid to the evolving Corporatacracy.
Stone directed an excellent movie, JFK, challenging the Warren Commission findings. It is not crazy to believe that Oswald did not act alone in taking out Kennedy and what Stone is saying now is not crazy either. Obama did expand powers that were accelerated under the Bush administration and unless the American people can figure out how to set partisanship aside and stand up to the government this will continue to happen, regardless of who the next President is.
Perhaps a natural progression of a Democracy/Constitutional Republic

"the hoi polloi" = "hoi polloi".

Why doesn't he move to Russia or Cuba?
Black Sabbath
Yes, I did. You made a logical error.
I am not crazy. Stone is.
