At last an article the leaves the word "Religion" out of the equation. Faith or belief, which ever you prefer, is an individuals personal choice. The world should just accept that there are those that have a belief and those that don't. I don't like being branded, ex:- Cristian,Catholic,Jew,Muslim,Buddhist, etc and there are many. Present day and history is full of conflicts where they use religion as an excuse. This is something I'm trying to deal with plus this is an explosive subject so I'll finish.

Poland was a member of the Warsaw Pact but it was never part of the former Soviet Union.

were mainly carried out in European countries, in addition to Chile, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

It's too bad the findings for Japan were not mentioned in the article. They can be found here, in the full report: www.norc.org/PDFs/Beliefs_about_God_Report.pdf

The Philippines leads the world in the number of people who believe in God

I assume they mean the proportion of people who believe in God.

The study was based on data from 30 countries—nearly all with Christian majorities—in which surveys about belief in God have been taken since 1991.

The proportion would almost certainly be higher in fundamentalist Muslim countries and in African backwaters where witch burning is de rigeur.

Muslims and Jews also believe in God. Why is this statistical study done only in Christian countries, where, anyway, they believe in a trinity, made of God, Jebus Christ and the holy spirit?...
