Pretty serious stuff here. So drunk he was passed out and still "thought" he could fly? Really? Wow. I hear there is an opening for 1 pilot for Sunwing Airlines. I'm just glad the flight never took to the air and that everyone is safe.

Oh! Canada... Too bad Seagram's was broken up. He could have applied as their spokesman. Let's hope the response is not a touchy-feely "It could happen to anyone."

How about a simple breathalyzer test for the crew(all) before approaching the aircraft?

As a Canadian who flies frequently enough to comment, this was a truly rare occurrence, and the procedures followed by Sunwing's other staff were not only sufficient, but designed to eliminate said behavior. And the law in Canada will come down very heavily on that pilot, as it should. And frankly, I'm embarrassed by such a crappy representative of our professional people into whose hands we put our lives when traveling.
