There is only one thing certain for the Republicans in 2016. That is that they WILL NOT win the White House !

6 ( +9 / -3 )

I don't think even Republicans know what to do next. They are trying to discredit Trump but he keeps dominating the polls. Even Fox News and the head of the RNC haven't been able to overturn the #1 GOP candidate.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The Republican Party has become a parody of itself. How can anyone satirize the proclamations of most of these Republican candidates, when they're already beyond ridiculous?

Care to put your money where your mouth is?

It's funny how many Republicans are disparaging Trump for his comments - while these same comments have him as the most popular candidate. A broken party indeed.

Trump can not win with his remarks about Hispanics and women. The way he went after Megan Kelly and the other remarks about women he disagrees.

'Trump can not win with his remarks about Hispanics and women. The way he went after Megan Kelly and the other remarks about women he disagrees.'

I wouldn't put money on Trump winning the Republican nomination but I probably would put money on him running as an independent. Trump, like other loudmouths, gets admiration from many for the fact that he is willing to say what others won't. The substance of his comments are often less important than the whole self-styled image as something different. Look at the popularity of rightist nutcases like Anne Coulter who has 'argued' that giving women the vote was a bad idea. She stirs the pot and some people like it.

The prospect of two familiar, established Wall Stret arse-kissers, Bush and Clinton, is depressing for many. You can't get a cigarette paper between them.

What's in the democrat field? No shining lights there. Seems all the eggs are in the Hillary basket and she is being investigated AGAIN! Clintons have a controvercial past and present.

To be honest, I don't think she'll be the nominee.

MarkG: "Seems all the eggs are in the Hillary basket and she is being investigated AGAIN!"

Yes, by Republicans who have been given the answers to the same question more than a dozen times but want to keep the spotlight off the fact that they are crumbling. So, instead of saying, "She is being investigated AGAIN!" you might want to more accurately say, "We are asking her the same stupid things AGAIN!"

In any case, this article is about the laughing stock your party has become, and how even more hilarious it is that now people are finally starting to admit that not only did the GOP NOT do what it promised to do after losing the last election for president, they have gone so far in the opposite direction that your boy Trump is LEADING! Now, will he lead and eventually get the nomination? A little while ago most people would have soundly said "NO!", but the fact is now they cannot say that with any confidence. And the BEST part is that if Trump starts losing the Republican lead he'll just quit and run as an independent and take half your votes! hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

May as well vote Dem. The Dems are driving the country off a cliff, and the Republicans are just promising to do it a little slower. Anybody who says we should change direction has no chance of winning. So, I'd rather see the other boot drop sooner than later - then maybe, just maybe, the country can get its senses back and rebuild.

The irony of Erick Erickson calling out Trump for a tasteless sexist remark is par for the GOP course. I'm not saying that, if you scratch any Republican, you'll find sexism/racism; I'm saying it's more like drilling for oil in Texas rather than Massachusetts, probability-wise.

Erikson is the man who called Wendy Davis, Texas state senator who obtained a law degree despite growing up in poverty and partially because she took control of her reproductive life, "abortion Barbie." (Seems like a poor woman is screwed either way with these guys, whether they are responsible and create a successful life or whether they sacrifice financial stability to raise children.)

Erickson has some other choice comments about women - many involving their responsibility of cooking for men - which you can "enjoy" here. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/sexist-jerk-erick-erickson-slams-donald-trump-for-being-sexist_55c68260e4b0923c12bd1647?kvcommref=mostpopular

"There is only one thing certain for the Republicans in 2016. That is that they WILL NOT win the White House !"

According to a Politico poll, incredibly, Hillary is in a virtual tie with several of the Republicans, including Jeb, but she would trounce Trump.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

This is way too early to begin a presidential election campaign, personally me I think launching a presidential campaign nearly a year and a half before the election is disrespectful to the Office of the Presidency.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

There is only one thing certain for the Republicans in 2016. That is that they WILL NOT win the White House !

I guess No one is qualified then. None of the GOP based on you libs, Hillary is at a 57% disapproval rating and her popularity is slipping fast, very fast. You can't trust her, that's a fact. So who will it be? Bernie the Socialist? Not much different from our current Anointed one or Biden....uh......how about O'Malley, a man who believes in taxing the rain? Isn't there anything Dems WON'T tax? So I guess, America is royally screwed now.

I don't think even Republicans know what to do next. They are trying to discredit Trump but he keeps dominating the polls. Even Fox News and the head of the RNC haven't been able to overturn the #1 GOP candidate.

That wasn't the point and you know that. Come on, Trump was asked tough questions, he refused to elaborate and give details, he was way out of his league, he looked lost, bewildered. 74% of the public said, they would NOT vote for Trump if he were the nominee. Also Trump bloviated more than anyone else on the stage with 11 min., Bush about 8 min. and the rest about 6 min. Anyone thinking that Trump wasn't given a chance to talk is on crack! Once again, he bullied his way to suck out all the air in the room. The Mods were tough and if the candidates can't take it and whine about it, they can drop out.

It's funny how many Republicans are disparaging Trump for his comments - while these same comments have him as the most popular candidate. A broken party indeed.

Hmmm, I wouldn't exactly call the Democratic Party pristine and a fine tuned oiled machine.

Yes, by Republicans who have been given the answers to the same question more than a dozen times but want to keep the spotlight off the fact that they are crumbling.

So how's Hillary doing these days? Lol

So, instead of saying, "She is being investigated AGAIN!" you might want to more accurately say, "We are asking her the same stupid things AGAIN!"

I really wouldn't laugh too much, if she's Federally investigated, subpoenaed or worse were to be indicted, that's it. This is very serious and if I were her, I'd be carrying an extra roll of toilet paper with me at all times.

In any case, this article is about the laughing stock your party has become, and how even more hilarious it is that now people are finally starting to admit that not only did the GOP NOT do what it promised to do after losing the last election for president, they have gone so far in the opposite direction that your boy Trump is LEADING!

I wouldn't worry, with 74% of the electorate NOT wanting to vote for Trump, I wouldn't worry too much. I figured he might be in until Christmas and he'll drop out or poll badly enough that some of the other GOP can come out from under his inflated shadow. Rubio, Cruz, Fiorino and Huckabee and Kasich are the people to watch out for.

Now, will he lead and eventually get the nomination? A little while ago most people would have soundly said "NO!", but the fact is now they cannot say that with any confidence.

I'm saying it, he won't.

And the BEST part is that if Trump starts losing the Republican lead he'll just quit and run as an independent and take half your votes! hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

I seriously doubt that, but if he did, he would be through, washed up and shunned as a businessman and entertainer for sure.

What's in the democrat field? No shining lights there.

More like old and blown out.

Seems all the eggs are in the Hillary basket and she is being investigated AGAIN! Clintons have a controvercial past and present.

Ever notice she always has that grudge look on her face. Yeah, real exciting politician...lol

To be honest, I don't think she'll be the nominee.

I don't think so either at least NOT with this baggage over her head. She's becoming more of a liability to the Democratic Party, they know it, the Dems are just hoping this a

Will just blow away, but it won't. NOT this time.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

'And the BEST part is that if Trump starts losing the Republican lead he'll just quit and run as an independent and take half your votes!'

'I seriously doubt that, but if he did, he would be through, washed up and shunned as a businessman and entertainer for sure.'

I know you are desperate to believe that but why would he be shunned as a businessman and entertainer? By whom and what for? For running as an independent? Trump is a master of self-promotion and feeds off publicity. The idea of him flying around the US winding up his supporters and getting his face on the news every day sounds like a Trump wet dream. You along with the other rightists claim he isn't a Republican. If that's true, why would it bother him if they lost? Trump knows his billions are safe under a Wall Street stooge like Hillary Clinton.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

@Jim

Careful what you wish for.

He might just stand as an independent and win. Imagine the horror..... : (

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@luca

To be honest, whether it's Trump, Clinton or Bush, one thing will be assured - the middle classes and the less well-off will continue to get screwed. Then again, Trump at the head of a military of grotesque size with the nuclear codes....

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@Jim

Yep. We don't want no Trump. The fact that he's even considered is scary.....

2 ( +2 / -0 )

When is "God" going to hit Biff's campaign?

I can't see a ego-bully-freak like Trump accepting a higher entity beyond his wig.

It could be the one issue that finally turns off the fanatics at the core of the GOP Jihadists.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

There are no signs that Thursday’s debate will winnow their wide-open field anytime soon.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.

Before the campaign got under way, Republican Party leaders developed a streamlined set of debates and a nomination calendar that aimed to avoid a messy fight.

That seemed designed to inaugurate Bush as the nominee and bypass the voters......God forbid the primary actually does what it’s supposed to do.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Which inmate are you rooting for, Lizz?

Who are those "there are unambiguously conservative candidates running this time" you alluded to the other day? Surely mot Biff?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Still I say Trump is a flash in the pan. His popularity stems from his unfiltered discussions saying what most of rational USA wants. Border security and industry returned to the major consumers which means jobs. The current 'politically correct' world is not benefitting anyone. Trump calls a spade a spade.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

I know you are desperate to believe that but why would he be shunned as a businessman and entertainer?

Believe me when I tell you I'm not in the least desperate, however I do feel sorry for the average American thinking that Trump might have a chance, maybe, but for the sake of the country, I hope he and Hillary don't make it.

By whom and what for? For running as an independent? Trump is a master of self-promotion and feeds off publicity. The idea of him flying around the US winding up his supporters and getting his face on the news every day sounds like a Trump wet dream.

Well, can't argue with you on that.

You along with the other rightists claim he isn't a Republican.

I can read books about cooking all day, doesn't make me a Gordon Ramsey or even a chef for that matter.

If that's true, why would it bother him if they lost? Trump knows his billions are safe under a Wall Street stooge like Hillary Clinton.

True. If that did happen as to my original point, he'd be ostracized and shunned and made a pariah for sure even with his billions, he'd be a very lonely or at least isolated person for a very long time for his actions.

It could be the one issue that finally turns off the fanatics at the core of the GOP Jihadists.

GOP Jihadists? Hmmmm....didn't know too many GOP members supporting baby chop shops.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

i hope the FBI open a file to investigate where Jeb Bush 's campaign money comes from. But I think I that might not happen.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

i hope the FBI open a file to investigate where Jeb Bush 's campaign money comes from. But I think I that might not happen.

Jeb Bush?? Even if they did do that, there wouldn't be any scandal. If there were, the Dems would have already brought it out. For the most part, Bush is clean. One thing I know for a fact, if they can find something on Bush that would serious dent his candidacy we would have already heard about it.

Hillary is the one y'all should be worried about. Personally, I wouldn't want to be in her shoes now.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Uncertainty seems to have never created if GOP accept their own talented people. Yes, I'm a foreigner..

You didn't answer my question. Who would ostracize him and why would he give a crap? Could these people bankrupt him or keep him off the TV?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Not bankrupting Trump perhaps, but they cold boycott or refuse to renew his contract with the Apprentice. If all the networks were to do that, he would have to go maybe to a smaller network, ask Conan O'Brian and there are countries that can avoid doing business with him on the basis that he bullied the GOP in saying, you either pick me or I'll form a 3rd party, and make you guys all look stupid. His way or the highway. Trump has a lot of clout, but collectively, so does the business and entertainment world as well.

You are making the GOP sound like a poor, bullied child on the one hand and making them sound like the mafia on the other. Which is it? Which countries would boycott Trump for exercising his right to run as an independent? I didn't know the GOP was revered as something holy outside the US right wing.

You believe in democracy, don't you? Wouldn't you agree, with millions of other Americans, that the two-party system with two cheeks of the same Wall Street arse fighting it out contributes to the absolutely appalling turnout rate in the beacon for democracy in the world? You'd be ROFLing non-stop if Bernis Sanders ran as an independent.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

they canceled it after his comments on Mexicans.

I wouldn't go that fair. I wouldn't want to have a chaotic multiple party Euopean system or either. I firmly trust and believe in a competitive free market system. I believe in Democrcy and if Trump becomes a sore loser, then he has no one else to blame but himself. I was only pointing out, if he were to break ranks and run for an Independent 3rd party, we all know what would happen and the repercussions and fallout of that would be monumental for Trump.

You'd be ROFLing non-stop if Bernis Sanders ran as an independent.

You know, I'm not in the least worried about Bernie, but like Trump he is something to behold, that's for sure.

bass4funk: That wasn't the point and you know that. Come on, Trump was asked tough questions, he refused to elaborate and give details

They came right out of the gate with a "hands up" question that they 100% already knew the answer to regarding 3rd party possibilities. You'd have to be naive to think that FOX and the RNC didn't script that.

he was way out of his league, he looked lost, bewildered.

Which polls are you using? I'm seeing Trump as the winner from Drudge to Slate and everything in between. Those who say otherwise are reporters telling us who they thought won the debate.

The RNC needs to be careful about how they play their cards. Trump is running on an anti-establishment platform and if people start to notice that his own party is against him then Trump can use that as fuel. And Republicans love stuff like that. When Cruz does something that's illogical and people call him out on it he just claims that as evidence that "Washington insiders" are afraid of him. Palin worked the same way....say something dumb and people will come to defend you because old Washington is attacking radical ideas again.

There are some good points that Trump brings to the table for Republicans. I was looking forward to the crazies taking center stage but another crazy took everything off the stage. Since everyone is talking about Trump we'll have to delay the big outing of the GOP on the national stage.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Which polls are you using?

The entire END result and mainstream overall polling and the complete accurate numbers of how well he did or didn't do will be known by Monday or Tuesday.

I'm seeing Trump as the winner from Drudge to Slate and everything in between. Those who say otherwise are reporters telling us who they thought won the debate.

Maybe he did win, the people that love him insults or not will love him, the people that hate him will continue doing so.

I agree.

The Republicans don't love this kind of drama not one bit, if it were up to them of course, they would clip Trump from the entire campaign.

Who's crazy besides Trump?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Relax, folks. There are still 16 months to the election. For all the stress, at least the GOP is trying to field a strong group of candidates. Governors with multiple successful terms, long standing senators, etc.

I'm still confused why Hillary Clinton would be considered as a nominee, beyond the obvious recognition factor of her last name. It reeks of nepotism and "my turn-ism". Her list of accomplishments can be written on the head of a pin, she is not an engaging speaker or campaigner, she is not trusted......... the list goes on. Yet she is the BEST the Democrats have to offer?

My heart weeps for my American cousins.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The Republicans don't love this kind of drama not one bit, if it were up to them of course, they would clip Trump from the entire campaign.

Yeah, he's exposing their beliefs, and that's going to hurt them bad. They would love to be able to keep them hidden so they can try to get votes from those that they hate.

Who's crazy besides Trump?

Other than all of them, nobody.

she is the BEST the Democrats have to offer?

Nope. Bernie Sanders is way better.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's become a more and more common theme with the Republican party where they are being internally split between their moderates and their hardliners. Would it not be better to just split the part in two. A moderate right would probably be the most attractive option in the States wouldn't it?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yeah, he's exposing their beliefs, and that's going to hurt them bad. They would love to be able to keep them hidden so they can try to get votes from those that they hate.

And Hillary is doing that 1000x over.

Other than all of them, nobody.

Maybe from a socialist perspective might feel like that.

Nope. Bernie Sanders is way better

Bernie, thank God, will never be president

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

And Hillary is doing that 1000x over.

is she now? Let's hear some examples of how.

Bernie, thank God, will never be president

You're probably right, but it's too bad, as he'd be the best for the country.

Of course if he did become president, you guys would long for the days of Obama. Some perspective would force you to realize Obama is not even remotely the socialist you like to pretend he is.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

StrangerlandAUG. 10, 2015 - 08:38AM JST Nope. Bernie Sanders is way better.

That's not what few people in said in Seattle. I think he ordered a movie called: "Sleepless in Seattle" in his hotel room. He had a rough day.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's not what few people in said in Seattle.

You mean the two people who hijacked his speech with their own agenda?

Good for them.
