Good to see the people's voice work in Korea. Good on them.

Park, who is serving a single five-year term that was set to end in February 2018

She is going to serve another term methinks.

Lock her up! Lock her up!

Interesting contrast in Japan's neighbor. Meanwhile, people are sleeping over here. This PM has had such a dramatically dark life - like out of Shakespeare or something.

The South Korean people can't seem to catch a break, corrupt leaders year after year.

I say Korea was in their prime when they had president Roh in the office. After Roh's suicide, everything went downhill for them.

I'm not sure what happened but both Lee and Park have done a very shitty job in leading their country.

With that being said, good on the Korean citizens to voice their anger on the corruption and didn't give up. Even when holding a huge protests, they were little to no riots and public disturbance. Just shows that their still some democracy left in them.

By exercising "people power" the Korean people gave the world a lesson in democracy ( one that strikes fear into the festering core of all authoritarian regimes), demonstrating that democracy isn't just about voting in elections to choose leaders who are then free to defy the will of the people and make or break the laws of the land with impunity. I hope the Japanese will be capable of emulating their neighbors when the time comes.

Now Park Geun-hye can not play political game with Japan's past and her Comfort women Statues campaign can't help her fate. Park Geun-hye was concentrating her political agenda on anti-Japanese sentiment to get popularity but she forgot to do most important thing for her county and let her friends to corrupt and control her President’s decision. Obviously, Park Geun-hye was not talented Politician and she was elected on her anti-Japanese sentiment and her father’s name. Park Geun-hye does not try to mend Korean – Japanese friendship as country leader and she was spreading her anti-Japanese sentiment to not just Korean society also to the world as well. The impeachment for President Park Geun-hye was inevitable. I hope other S. Korean Politicians will learn Park Geun-hye dow-fall and next S. Korea President will be the person who was open minded and moderate political and social view on Japanese – S. Korean two countries friendship.

There are, and will always be, corrupt leaders in every country. It's just that, South Koreans kick them out, while the Japanese wait for them to resign to due stomach aches.

Contrast that with the USA where millions voted for a profoundly unqualified candidate only because she was a 'she'.

@Chop Chop You sound like Korea is the only one who's fueling this hate train between them and Japan.

It doesn't help when Japan constantly denies victims of comfort women, visiting Yasukuni, whitewashing history and so on. Don't make it sound like Korea is the only instigator here. Oh and did I forget the endless discrimination of zainichis and Korean tourist in Japan (see the latest Osaka scandals)? They treat them like some kind of subhuman or something. At least Korea doesn't discriminate against Japanese tourists like that.

person who was open minded and moderate political and social view That goes both ways. Abe and their government also needs to be "open minded" as well.

Really, this whole social and political issue between Japan and Korea is just a one giant pissing contest where either side tries to prove that their righteous.

Thank God it hasn't worsen to Israel-Palastine level of hatred.

The worse part of that is that 'she' didn't win the presidency even with the popular vote. That should be the issue to focus on.

Good to see the people's voice work in Korea. Good on them.

Unfortunately, the people are refusing responsibility of their own. Who in the first place chose her as their president.? This is not the first time. Political immaturity of the people, their incompetent media and non-sustainable political system have to be examined. Yet they ("the people" and "media") are using her as a scapegoat, placing the whole responsibility on her. It's more like a witch hunt in madness than democracy. Switching a head will not change anything, and sadly they still don't get it.
