Funny how politicians with that last name are incapable of dealing with Syria, with exhibit B being American Libertarian Party candidate Gary J.'s "What is Aleppo?" gaffe.

It's scary to think about the kind of education and information Arabs are receiving. Britain never took nor wanted colonies in that region, apart from the tiny - and prosperous -- speck of Aden.

Britain had to go there because Syria's colonial ruler the Muslim Ottoman Empire had earlier chosen to go to war against Britain and France, rejecting their neutrality offer. Then the Ottoman Empire collapsed after Arabs revolted against it, and the local people proceeded to kill each other in large numbers (gee, this is sounding awfully familiar, isn't it, accent on "awfully").

But hey, it's always good to have a scapegoat. Boris makes an easy target.
