@brbush Blatant bias.

Thank you for sharing your personal perspective. Would you suggest another article on this particular event that you think doesn't show bias? Or is your post just once again another attack on free press.

@pt Would you suggest another article on this particular event that you think doesn't show bias?

It doesn't have to be an English or French source. Sources from Russia, North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, any others like them would be fine. Using Google translate I can approximate what they're saying.

I know some people in a HUGE outdoor cafe' in Dubai that aren't going to be HAPPY about this.

You want the truth?

You ain't going to get it from reading headlines and talking points from major news sources.

It's difficult for some folk to wean off the kool-aid.

There might be some truth in that. For example, Trump has mentioned a terrorist attack in Sweden that no Swede was aware of; same with an attack in Bowling Green that apparently only he and his followers knew of. I couldn’t find any mention of either in any ‘major news source’.

On second thought, I’d rather read headlines and talking points from major news stories. At least I know they get it right some of the time. Creating fake news? Can you believe the most powerful (maybe second most) man in the world has to resort to creating fake news? Now why would he do that.

@brbush Comb through various articles, piece together facts, skim off the propaganda and the truth will become evident.

Thanks for the advice. It sounds similar to what I heard in my first year at university, which was similar to what I’d heard in secondary school. Good to be reminded nonetheless.

@fredW It's difficult for some folk to wean off the kool-aid.

In this case is kool-aid Nashi-code for corporate media? If so, I’d rather read corporate media and take @rbush’s advice (above) than listen to Trump and his media lackey’s reports.

If you were referring to corporate media and saying people should ‘wean’ themselves from it, what would you suggest instead? I hope you’re not like the other rightists and Russians on this board and instead of just continuing with a blanket criticism of media are able to suggest actual, specific alternatives. Russia Today? Rupert Murdoch? Alex Jones?

I’d like to read Anna Politkovskaya, but alas.

@brbush Why do we only have two choices, Trump or corporate media?

You missed the point I was making, but that's fine. There are other sources beyond Trump and the big six, some of them excellent, some of them whack, and some in between. I use as many as I can find. The Internet is wonderful that way, though I understand the Russian government does censor Internet information.

Trump is not even a news source, he's a sitting president.

I'm not an English teacher. Once again you're back to a your English dictionary vs mine disagreement. (This is kind of a loop discussion. Out of curiosity do you get paid by the response?) Here's the first meaning from the online Oxford dictionary: A place, person, or thing from which something originates or can be obtained.

Here's another: A person who provides information.

My sense of the meaning of the word: Trump is a source. And in my opinion, he's one of the most unreliable sources to ever hold a position of power in recent times. He's been fact checked repeatedly and repeatedly found to be a fount of alt facts and downright lies.

default to being spoon fed lies by the corporate media.

Once again, I don't. I'm able to find sources I trust and sift through them to find what I think is the truth. I think once again you're projecting a Russian's perspective on media lies.
