Russia and American officials have said the agreement is intended to set the stage for peace talks to resolve the Syrian war, now in its sixth year.

Just a reminder how this all started.

“Secret cables and reports by the U.S., Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies indicate that the moment Assad rejected the Qatari pipeline, military and intelligence planners quickly arrived at the consensus that fomenting a Sunni uprising in Syria to overthrow the uncooperative Bashar Assad was a feasible path to achieving the shared objective of completing the Qatar/Turkey gas link. In 2009, according to WikiLeaks, soon after Bashar Assad rejected the Qatar pipeline, the CIA began funding opposition groups in Syria.”

Yes, this is Obama's CIA war. I hope one day historians decide to call the Pipeline War. Not sure what they will call Obama's Yemen war though.

In 2009 Obama gave a similar authorization for the expansion of covert U.S. counter-terrorism actions by the CIA in Yemen. The White House does not normally confirm such orders have been issued.

And I'm sure we still remember Obama's war in Libya right?

President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing covert U.S. government support for rebel forces seeking to oust Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, government officials told Reuters on Wednesday. Obama signed the order, known as a presidential "finding", within the last two or three weeks, according to government sources familiar with the matter.

Yemen? Ya do know that the US supports the UN-recognized Yemen administration that was overthrown by the Houthis, right? The US didn't start a war in Yemen to overthrow that government that they support.

The US didn't start a war in Yemen to overthrow that government that they support.

Yes, I do. The ousted leader was a stooge for the Saud's and the US, while marginalizing the Houthis. That's one of the reasons he was ousted.

You do know that the Saud's have been committing genocide against the Yemens, right? Obama's and Hillary's RECORD weapons sale to the Saud's along with covert, material, satellite, intelligence and drone support. It's a US proxy war.

Why would the US start a war to oust one if its own stooges to be replaced by the Houthis? How would the US benefit from that?

Yes, and Assad is doing it in Syria. Everybody is doing it for their own ends.

The Houthis ousted him. Now the US, the Saudis and mercinaries are trying to put the stooge back in power goi g to war with the Houthis. Obama is spending millions supporting the stooge along with his CIA drone war killing an unknown amount of civilians. A simple wiki search and 15 minutes would have helped you a lot.

The Houthis ousted him.

So yes, the Houthis started the war that plunged Yemen into a civil war where civilians are getting killed on both sides.

(No need for wikis for me; studied history in univ; tons of books. You use wikis if ya need to.)

civil war

The Houthis didn't start a war, they were exercising the right to overthrow a corrupt leader. It is not a civil war if the Sauds, US and other Gulf States are helping one side.

Congratulations, that's what the Syrian rebels think too.

(And the American colony rebels as well, and it was called the American Revolutionary War.)

It is not a civil war if the Sauds, US and other Gulf States are helping one side.

There's no prerequisite for a civil war whether a side is getting help from others.

The Spanish Civil War had a lot of involvement from foreign nations.

They are not "rebels", this is what the MSM wants you to think. They are just being used as a proxy army. You should remember they are the ones who fired the poison gas with the help of Turkey and the US MSM.

I'll post this again just in case you missed it at the top

It seems we're done here. the writing is all over the wall that this is more of Obama's hegomonic resource wars. Fine if you don't see it that way, but your arguments are weak IMO.

Takecare

They are not "rebels",

"Rebels" just mean Syrians fighting the administration. Don't load it with too much conspiracy stuff. (Occam's Razor)
