Gossip around the remnant forlorn hopes of a free trade deal between EU and Canada suggest that privately the UK trade and industry mandarin are already sounding out free trade deals with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Government, President in waiting Hilary Clinton, and Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.....

Nissan have set a new benchmark in efficiency and production targets. If a comprehensive free trade agreement can be reached with all three, Great Britain can whether the fall out from a straight forward empty chair 'walk away' strategy.

Of course this would require emergency legislation. With a wafer thin majority that would be a big nut for a Conservative Government to crack to forcing though parliament.

Wallonia - the mouse that roared. The deal died last Friday, so this little extension is nothing but a face-saving gesture on the part of the EU, and the first step towards its demise. Crappy experiment to start with.

We it appears Nissan will remain in Sunderland after all..although that unexpected jump in growth could be short lived as the direct result of a weighted 11 percent fall in the value of sterling.
