If the LSM predictions come true, U.S. voters will have to choose between two democrats in November.

RIP, America. . . .

-21 ( +3 / -24 )

They'll pick the right candidate to set the correct course for USA Aggie and if she is still running it won't be Hillary.

-18 ( +3 / -21 )

This Super Tuesday will go down in history as being the greatest Super Tuesday in the history of America ... and the Super Tuesday that makes America great again by destroying the Republican Party.

5 ( +15 / -10 )

Hey guys -pay attention to the photo. Its red/white/blue and says: Vote "aqui" here. Aqui is the Spanish for here. Voting should be done entirely in English. Do voters in Japan have ballots in Korean? or in Portuguese? I thought so . . .

the Super Tuesday that makes America great again by destroying the Republican Party.

So immature. You guys are just jealous haters cause he's got this far. Calm down everyone. The Republicans aren't going anywhere and will always have posture in the future of american politics.

-17 ( +6 / -23 )

But but but... is Trump really the standard bearer for the GOP? Can't imagine any GOP officeholders are too thrilled to see a guy who has never held office leapfrog over them into the top job only by virtue of being the richest loudmouth.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

American voters will be forced to choose between a populist democrat and an establishment democrat this November. Either way, it is a lose/lose proposition for this country. . . .

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Terrible that the melting pot has now conformed to a single race. All those legal European immigrants having to learn English while the illegal immigrants are catered too.

I sure do hope voter ID remains the law. After all if you are not capable of obtaining an ID are you capable of voting responcibly?

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

Hey guys -pay attention to the photo

How dare they speak Spanish in Saint Anthony!

12 ( +14 / -2 )

But but but... is Trump really the standard bearer for the GOP? Can't imagine any GOP officeholders are too thrilled to see a guy who has never held office leapfrog over them into the top job only by virtue of being the richest loudmouth

Obama didn't do anything in the Senate. Just voted present, didn't work prior to that as far as having gubernatorial expierences. No big difference.

-14 ( +5 / -19 )

GO HRC !

Would never vote for the Ovarian-American who's responsible for getting an American ambassador and three Marines killed. That's what U.S. liberals do. . . .

-16 ( +8 / -24 )

How dare they speak Spanish in Saint Anthony!

I don't care what they speak out in public or in the privacy of their own homes. US Politics should be conducted entirely in English, right? . . .. or am I being too "extreme" for some of you?

Go ask a Japanese person if they think compulsory education and or voting in Japan should be done in a foreign language. They'll think you're insane.

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

US Politics should be conducted entirely in English, right?

Says who? There's no official language in the world's second largest Hispanophone nation.

Go ask a Japanese person if they think compulsory education and or voting should be done in a foreign language.

What a compelling comparison. The winningest razor-sharp analysis this year.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Second language study is compulsary in both Japan and USA educational systems. Now that Japan is doing the omotenashi thing, government business such as drivers licensing exams are offered in English to foreign residents. How many decades ago was your last trip to Japan, Wc?

6 ( +9 / -3 )

I do have to say there is some schadenfreude in watching the Republicans freaking out about Trump beating all their boys. But the downside of it is that it's Trump who is beating all their boys.

Although the polls show both Clinton and Sanders beating Trump in the election, so I guess it's all good.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Although the polls show both Clinton and Sanders beating Trump in the election, so I guess it's all good

Lol, last week the polls also showed Trump losing in Nevada.

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

Second language study is compulsary in both Japan and USA educational systems.

I'm not talking about second language studies and drivers licenses though. Quit twisting my words. In Japan, Japanese is spoken. In the USA, English is spoken. In France, they speak French etc . . Its no mystery.

-18 ( +2 / -20 )

I'm not talking about second language studies and drivers licenses though. Quit twisting my words. In Japan, Japanese is spoken. In the USA, English is spoken. In France, they speak French etc . . Its no mystery

As it should be and shouldn't be any other way.

Just wait until phase 2 of Trumps run......he will show more respect and leadership skills.

-7 ( +7 / -14 )

Red neck racist or Jewish loving war hawk? Tough decision. Why not just have them in a room and toss a coin three times, heads or tails. (Sorry about the character generalizations.)

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Clearly Americans are not feeling the establishments New World Order. I truly wonder if Trump is a plant in order to guarantee a Hillary victory.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Trump was calling for Rubio to quit the race if he didn’t win anywhere on Tuesday.

Looks bad for Rubio. Between now and March 15, we are going to see a fratricidal rampage in the GOP the likes of which has never occurred. "May you live in interesting times," as the Chinese curse has it.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

@Wc626 and Bass, that is an overly simplistic view of the world. Some candidates are Spanish speakers: you've already forgotten Rubio, Cruz, and JEB! on the campaign trail having their fluency pissing contests while trying to woo voters.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Some candidates are Spanish speakers: you've already forgotten Rubio, Cruz, and JEB! on the campaign trail having their fluency pissing contests while trying to woo voters.

Okay fair enough . . . Jeb iz DONE!! Rubio- not looking so good. Cruz won TX, but still lags nationwide. So its no wonder those 3 have tried to woo voters. Besides most hispanics (like Blacks) will be voting for Hilary. (if they're even legal to vote in the 1st place.)

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

I truly wonder if Trump is a plant in order to guarantee a Hillary victory.

Maybe, but really you could say that of any of the Republican candidates. It's a circus freak show, where they are fighting about who can show more hatred and non-inclusion than the others.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

I think Trump has probably changed how US elections will be run in future, as candidates try to out-populist each other with ideas and policies that could never be implemented. Serious debate on issues might get completely marginalized and hyberbole rather than content will be the deciding factors in future debates

It's unfortunate, as I usually think Repubs have better economic policy (although horrific social policies) but they would be the ones to suffer most from blatant populism as it's too repellent

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Brilliant move by Mr. Trump to hold a press conference, answer reporters' questions and talk about policies and plans of a President Trump administration.

Meanwhile, little Marco and the establishment GOP will be high fiving themselves over his Va. 2nd place participation trophy (like any voter cares). . . .

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Seems that the influential conservative group Red State is seeking to disinvite Trump from this weekend's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the country's most prominent gathering of conservatives, because they don't think that he is a conservative. Funny how almost half of their constituency disagrees. This will be a very awkward meeting, to be sure.

In the USA, English is spoken. In France, they speak French etc . . Its no mystery.

Article 75-1 of the French Constitution says: "les langues régionales appartiennent au patrimoine de la France" (the regional languages belong to the heritage of France), and there's bilingual road and commercial signage.

In Celtic regions of the UK, you'll see broadcasting, road signs and voter information in the three major languages that pre-date English (just as Spanish does in Texas).

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Article 75-1 of the French Constitution says: "les langues régionales appartiennent au patrimoine de la France"

Dud. . . . but its written in "French" -not in regional languages. Besiseds, who cares it's Super Tuesday!!

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

MarkG Just wait until phase 2 of Trumps run......he will show more respect and leadership skills.

Are you saying he's a con artist using bait and switch? Now that he's marketed himself to the lowest common denominator of the country and attracted large numbers of them through his Goebbel's-like approach he's going to turn and offer his sheeple instead, in the words of the putative journalist who often posts rebuttals and whatabouts, socialism-lite or some other imaginary nirvana?

Several posters have written that the GOP establishment is concerned about Trump's candidacy. I think if he does win, they can rest assured that Trump's branch of the WASP establishment, which has got more free press from the MSM than any candidate in history, will quickly merge with the GOP establishment - with further help from the MSM - keeping that formidable force in place, ensuring the extant GOP establishment remains in control. As David Byrne sang, 'same as it ever was'.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

A couple people need to drop out

Rubio is having a terrible night. Sanders is hanging in there -to my surprise.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Are you saying he's a con artist using bait and switch?

He wouldn't be alone; that is what the GOP establishment is saying. Maybe they're right Perhaps we'll someday find out.

.... the GOP establishment is concerned about Trump's candidacy.

Here we have the understatement of the day.

Wc626MAR. 02, 2016 - 10:48AM JST US Politics should be conducted entirely in English, right? . . .. or am I being too "extreme" for some of you?

I would say the issue is not your extremism, it's that you've chosen not to back up your opinion with anything but the flimsiest and most reductive of tautologies. It's all well and good that you have an opinion, but maybe you could make an effort to give everyone else a reason to care what it is?

dcog9065MAR. 02, 2016 - 12:27PM JST I think Trump has probably changed how US elections will be run in future, as candidates try to out-populist each other with ideas and policies that could never be implemented.

I hate when people call Drumpf a populist. He's not a populist. A populist is someone who tries to make policies that appeal to the widest demographic. Drumpf doesn't even make policies. What he does is goof around and mouth off like a side-show clown, lashing out at anyone who isn't a white male in order to make his mostly white, mostly male audience feel better about themselves. That's not populism, that's self-centered demagoguery.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

wc626: US Politics should be conducted entirely in English, right?

The US has no official language. Use whatever you want. In states with large Hispanic populations they will probably use English and Spanish. You might have noticed that Japan will often have signs in English, even ones related to government matters. Does that bother you? I found it helpful, especially if I didn't know the kanji.

It's good that Cruz will stay in the race. We need Rubio to stay as well. I want maximum chaos from the GOP, including the GOP itself going after their top candidate. Having all 3 of them stay in helps us, but ultimately we need Trump to win the nomination.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

I would say the issue is not your extremism, it's that you've chosen not to back up your opinion with anything

Why should I argue or "back up" something that is already common knowledge? Shouldn't US politics be conducted in English and not any other language? American voters who were born, raised, educated and work in the United States of America expect their candidates to campaign in English. They expect the polling stations, ballot forms, instructions to be in English.

Did not Chris Rock just host the Oscar awards in Hollywood . . . in English?

-17 ( +1 / -18 )

@Wc626 and Bass, that is an overly simplistic view of the world. Some candidates are Spanish speakers: you've already forgotten Rubio, Cruz, and JEB! on the campaign trail having their fluency pissing contests while trying to woo voters.

That was never the issue, I speak, read and write in 3 languages fluently, but I'm talking about in the US the main language is English, in Japan it's Japanese, NOT English. When in Rome.....

The US has no official language.

That is a bunch of BS that liberals have been saying for years to justify illegals NOT wanting to conform and speak English, the US of America was always a predominantly English speaking nation from the very beginning. It's only been in the late 80s when groups like La RAZA tried to challenge the school and ESL system.

There is NO excuse, when you are in the US study English, anything at else, leave it at home. If I tried t impose on all Japanese we need to be an English speaking nation, they would look at me like I'm totally mental and rightfully so.

Use whatever you want.

At home, sure. I have no problem with that.

In states with large Hispanic populations they will probably use English and Spanish.

They will mostly use Spanish and often then don't try to assimilate with the rest of the society. My grandparents came to this country and without hesitation made an effort to adhere and abide by the rules of this country and never whined or complained about it. English speaking was an absolute must, no excuses!

You might have noticed that Japan will often have signs in English, even ones related to government matters. Does that bother you? I found it helpful, especially if I didn't know the kanji.

No ne objects to that and again, that is not the main issue.

It's good that Cruz will stay in the race. We need Rubio to stay as well. I want maximum chaos from the GOP, including the GOP itself going after their top candidate. Having all 3 of them stay in helps us,

Or it can backfire. Careful what you wish for. You know you libs are bad when it comes to predictions.

but ultimately we need Trump to win the nomination.

I hop so and if he wins, then what? Schadenfreude?

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

Heh heh. GOP house is burning down and some are quibbling about the languages pointing to the fire exits. Talk about rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic!

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Like Trump or not, he's won more Super Tuesday states than any other Republican candidates since 1960. What frightens the democrats is that numbers of Republican voters(so far) have been record-breaking, but for the democrats the numbers have been rather weak.

The apple cart has been overturned.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

the US of America was always a predominantly English speaking nation from the very beginning.

You're correct bass.

Does that bother you?

Yeah, it bothers me. If these Spanish speakers came to the US for a better life, they need to learn how to speak English. (Samuel Jackson in P. Fiction: 'English mf, -do you speak it '? and 'What is no country I ever heard of.' )

I found it helpful, especially if I didn't know the kanji.

Again. We (you and I) are visitors here. We're not trying to vote.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Its red/white/blue and says: Vote "aqui" here. Aqui is the Spanish for here. Voting should be done entirely in English. Do voters in Japan have ballots in Korean? or in Portuguese?

It isn't a ballot, it's a sign. No different from the English signs in Japan SuperLib mentions and bass says he has no problem with. In an area with presumably a sizeable number of Spanish speakers. What harm does a sign do? I've noticed before you seem to have a problem with people Speaking Spanish In America.

American voters who were born, raised, educated and work in the United States of America expect their candidates to campaign in English.

I heard that voters like their candidates to be 'like them'. And not all perfectly legal American citizens with the right to vote, were born in America. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and all that. I would have thought that freedom include the freedom to use the language you're happiest with?

often then don't try to assimilate with the rest of the society

You mean like the European ancestors of modern America assimilated with the native American society they found when they arrived? New meaning of the word.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

You mean like the European ancestors of modern America assimilated with the native American society they found when they arrived?

There was no "society" when the European settlers arrived.

I've noticed before you seem to have a problem with people Speaking Spanish In America.

Like the hispanic guy who beat up his girlfriend in NY and made her walk down the street naked?

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and all that.

That was a long time ago. Close the gates, the generations of Italians, Scotts, Irish, etc. who emigrated here long ago have fulfilled that slogan. Look at Germany, its a disaster.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

They will mostly use Spanish and often then don't try to assimilate with the rest of the society

Along with the vast majority of US Americans who also 'don't try to assimilate with the rest of society'. Most people in the US and in every country I've lived in and visited spend time with people they are most similar to. It's the exceptions who don't. So why do you point your fingers at non-WASP's? SoCal has a large number of Spanish, Chinese, Korean, etc., etc. speakers, many who live in neighbourhoods with people of similar background. To me it's the US 'salad bar' that is defining of the country and makes it most interesting. With the possible exception of shopping and attending cultural events, how often do you hang with your fellow countrymen who are not English first language speakers? That's a rhetorical question: I could never believe your answer.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Are you saying he's a con artist using bait and switch?

All the Republicans are. They preach hatred and non-inclusion during the primaries, in order to get the Republicans, then they switch it and try to appear reasonable and viable to everyone else during the campaign.

That's what sunk Mitt Romney though - the people didn't forget what he had said in order to get the nomination.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

All the Republicans are. They preach hatred

Woe-woe-woe. Do you mean KY Senator, (R) Rand Paul too?

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

He dropped out forever ago.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

He dropped out forever ago.

Of course he did. As if he had a chance. He might've had a longer run alongside Clinton & Sanders if he crossed-over.

Like Trump or not, he's won more Super Tuesday states than any other Republican candidates since 1960. numbers of Republican voters(so far) have been record-breaking

I've heard these kinds of reports all day long too. Its very gratifying.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

The US has no official language.

That is a bunch of BS that liberals have been saying for years to justify illegals NOT wanting to conform and speak English

No matter how unpalatable, the truth is the truth, not BS. The US has no official language.

There was no "society"

That lie has let conquistadores, frontiersmen and drone pilots sleep at night for centuries.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

You mean like the European ancestors of modern America assimilated with the native American society they found when they arrived? New meaning of the word.

If you want to split hairs about history and about war, conquer and assimilation, then so be it, it's a losing argument, we can go back to the beginning of time to virtually every country that spoke one language and then was conquered by another. The US is an English speaking nation and everyone is welcome as long as they adhere to the laws of our country. What you do in the privacy of your home, what language you speak, what religion you practice doesn't concern me.

Along with the vast majority of US Americans who also 'don't try to assimilate with the rest of society'.

What nonesense are you talking about now?

Most people in the US and in every country I've lived in and visited spend time with people they are most similar to.

Not only Americans. I've been traveling for over 25 years, visited 19 countries and lived in 4 of them. This kind of behavior is NOT just an American problem. Please don't go there. I have seen this so often and people do gravitate towards people that are similar to themselves, that's understandable to a point, but that's not what I was talking about.

It's the exceptions who don't.

What? Come again?

So why do you point your fingers at non-WASP's?

Because most of these problems are in the West Coast where we have a very high Hispanic population, that's why. Again, I'm from California, I think I would know.

SoCal has a large number of Spanish, Chinese, Korean, etc., etc. speakers, many who live in neighbourhoods with people of similar background.

But the majority of Asians do make an effort to assimilate and learn the English language.

To me it's the US 'salad bar' that is defining of the country and makes it most interesting. With the possible exception of shopping and attending cultural events, how often do you hang with your fellow countrymen who are not English first language speakers? That's a rhetorical question: I could never believe your answer.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

All readers back on topic please.

Here's a fun thing to do while watching the returns: head over to that bastion of Establishment liberalism, the New York Times. Check out their obvious and blatant pro-Hillary spin (not just in the editorial pages, where it belongs, but coloring all, and I mean ALL, their so-called "news" coverage.)

You'll see "news" headlines like, "Cruz and Sanders win 2 states each" (Sanders in fact won 4 states, with a fifth, Massachusetts, still neck-and-neck); "Minority Voters Push Clinton To Victories Across the South" (even though Sanders won southern state Oklahoma); "Wins for Sanders in Liberal Strongholds" (what, you mean the "liberal strongholds" Oklahoma, Colorado and Minnesota, all of whom have significant elected state and/or federal GOP officeholders??) But best of all, please read the comments from the hundreds upon hundreds of devoted liberal NYT readers: they're aware of the ridiculous pro-Hillary spin...and they're really angry about it! Perhaps angry enough to stay home come November rather than vote for the sellout Hillary "Corporate" Clinton??

It's embarrassing to see the depths to which Establishment liberals are now openly panicking against Bernie Sanders. But that's fine, since Sanders himself said tonight that: "We've had 15 elections, and there are 35 states left. I intend to fight on in each one of those remaining 35 states!" Which means...Sanders will out-raise Hillary and her Wall Street cronies for every month until the election! It also means Clinton will have to keep running to the left-of-center for the rest of this campaign (providing plenty of juicy soundbites for her rival in the General Election.) Her anti-Sanders rhetoric will definitely alienate the youth and progressive vote, which continues to be apparent in the markedly decreasing Democratic voter participation in primary after primary (while the GOP's votes continue to grow phenomenally.)

Sanders' four state victory today also means that he'll have more than quarter of the delegates from the Democratic nominating process, which guarantees him a prime-time keynote speaking slot during the Democratic National Convention. And just wait to hear what the self-proclaimed socialist has to say about the 400-plus party insider "superdelegates" swinging over to Hillary's side before a single citizen's vote had even been cast, or about an election where his rival has to rely on corporate support for more than 40% of her campaign contributions!

I can't wait!!

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Anyway, watching right-wingers freak out on here is nearly as amusing as watching the wingers/GOP freak out in the media. Classic meltdown, and 100% of their own making.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Super Tuesday that makes America great again by destroying the Republican Party.

Spoken like a true sheep, bravo!

There are black sheep and there are white sheep (you can call them democrats and republicans, or vice-versa), but regardless of their color, they are nothing but sheep. They are herded by their shepherds who live in Washington, they are fed misinformation, and made to believe in imaginary wolves, foxes, and kites, and the necessity of having ever stronger shepherds to protect them. They believe unhesitatingly in their shepherds, that black sheep are more stupid than white sheep, or white sheep are more stupid than black sheep, that gay marriage is good or evil, that gun ownership is good or evil, that corporations are good or evil. The sheep eat it all up, and when a black sheep sees a white sheep, or a black sheep sees a white sheep, they feel the hate their shepherds have indoctrinated them into feeling. Exactly the kind of hate that is evident in CrazyJoe's post above!

In the meantime, when the sheep are asleep dreaming of their shepherd becoming the new shepherd president, the shepherds themselves are all making deals with each other about how much they can shear the sheep before they die of exposure, how little they can feed them without them becoming too thin, and trading recipes for mutton dishes.

It is so entertaining to read the drivel written by the sheep of either color, sounding exactly alike in their hatred of each other, when in reality, black or white, they are really exactly the same. But they don't realize it, as they stupidly allow themselves to be lied to, bullied, and manipulated into opposing sides. They bleat at each other with all the impotence a sheep's bleat possesses.

Keep bleating! You'll bleat louder when you are fleeced and slaughtered by your shepherds. Silly little sheep.

What was that quote from a Texan politician on the bible being taught in Spanish? Something like "If English was good enough for Jesus....."

No need to sink to that level.

http://news.yahoo.com/super-tuesday-poll-sanders-clinton-top-trump-nov-172643356.html

National Poll Head-to-Head:

Rubio (50%) vs. Clinton (47%)

Cruz (49%) vs. Clinton (48%)

Sanders (57%) vs. Cruz (40%)

Sanders (55%) vs. Trump (43%)

Sanders (53%) vs. Rubio (45%)

Clinton (52%) vs. Trump (44%)

(Margin of error: plus-minus 3 points)

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I think Hillary can easily beat Cruz and Trump, I'd be more worried about Rubio. He'll start changing his tune in the national election and could capture some moderates. Or maybe not.

It's also nice to have Sanders as Plan B. Really, really nice.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

A Sanders presidency would turn the US into a 3rd world nation after serving one term and he'd be out, even if he DID win hypothetically, there is NO way congress would ever allow him these draconian massive progressive taxations he wants to impose on the public. The country would and could never recover at least not for the foreseeable future.

And let's not forget, liberals keep forgetting, rich people can always relocate or move their money and that's not something you really want, not unless you are willing to make things hard for the job creators and you really don't care about the country.

-16 ( +2 / -18 )

And let's not forget, liberals keep forgetting, rich people can always relocate or move their money and that's not something you really want, not unless you are willing to make things hard for the job creators and you really don't care about the country

Trotting out that old fallacy again are we?

If the rich want to leave, they can. They still have to pay taxes though. And let's be realistic, most people aren't going to go into self exile and give up their citizenship just to avoid some taxes. And if they do, that just leaves a vacancy for someone who doesn't leave to step in and take over their business - and start paying taxes.

Living in fear of the rich leaving is letting the rich hold the country hostage. And the US supposedly isn't supposed to negotiate with hostages.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Ha! Donald Trump! Can you believe it?! Talks of mass deportations and gets the coveted KKK endorsement and his own party wants him to lose, yet he's still winning! Ha!

Disenfranchised America is truly frightening. All those poorly educated-low income-lookin for payback voters are being led by a very good snake-oil salesman/carnival barker. Wow. He can and literally has said any and all things unspeakable and his ratings stay steady or go up in some areas.

If Trump and Clinton remain in the end, it'll be the election of hate: You either hate Hillary or you hate Trump and will vote just to stop either one from being elected. Could you imagine this? Rubio and Cruz are equally as frightening to me. And it's not I don't love Bernie's radical ideas of free everything for everyone, but I don't know how you could just retcon the entire country and wipe out the current systems he wants to wipe out.

America is indeed in an interesting time.

Here, it's the same old same old. Either no change or trying the same things over and over that didn't work before but who cares, there's no election possibility here to give you even the shred of hope. Japan is doomed. And I don't think Japanese are all too concerned. A perfectly docile country.

Personally, I'd love a Bernie or a Trump in Japan. It's not racist to say every Japanese politician is alike and indistinguishable.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

It would pit Clinton, the politically cautious, detailed-oriented former secretary of state and senator, against Trump, the trash-talking political outsider who has generated outrage with his derogatory comments

I just love objective and balanced commentary like this. No telling whose side the author is on, eh?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

@bass And let's not forget, liberals keep forgetting, rich people can always relocate or move their money and that's not something you really want, not unless you are willing to make things hard for the job creators and you really don't care about the country.

And if the rich move their money out of the country, they must not care much about their country either.

there is NO way congress would ever allow him these draconian massive progressive taxations

So you're saying if Sanders wins there's nothing for you to worry about because the just say no congress will continue to just say no. You've previously called Trump 'socialist-lite' so I'm a bit surprised you're now supporting him. Is that because you think his tax plan will be better than Sander's? What do you think it will include? Taxing US corporations that manufacture overseas? Trump criticised Apple because their products are assembled overseas. Do you think Trump should have the products his companies have made overseas made in the US instead?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

"Although the polls show both Clinton and Sanders beating Trump in the election, so I guess it's all good"

"Lol, last week the polls also showed Trump losing in Nevada."

A few weeks ago you were calling Trump supporters lunatics. You were ROFLing with the libs when Trump's clown car went honking past and now you are chasing after it.

Trump is no longer a leader of lunatics in your eyes and you still haven't explained why. Is he still a liberal? Is he still a man who will capitulate in foreign policy? Is he still a quasi-socialist?

I think many like you will desperately be trying to make this clown car look like a sensible motor vehicle. Talk about a 'Unicornverse'.

Basically, it was the GOP that lost today. Trump maintained his leading status, but considering who he is, his opponents will not drop out. Cruz and Rubio seem to have replaced each other as the one most able to beat Trump - but the former is barely more acceptable than Trump, and the latter will face a more advantageous set of states on 3/15, so they will soldier on.

Trump will hammer Rubio over the next two weeks on being a lightweight. Rubio will go after Trump as being a con man. Cruz will push the idea that he is somehow electable. And with each passing day, how farcical this GOP nomination is will become increasingly clear. 3/15 will not likely clarify matters either. It looks like we're going into a contested convention - and there will be no other option but to nominate Trump (he'd bolt with his supporters if they didn't).

So that, basically, is it. Trump: The GOP nominee.

For whatever reason I felt Trump wasnt as cocky and over confident tonight. Is it possible that maybe even an egomaniac like Trump may start feeling slightly overwhelmed and terrified by the task/job ahead?

I start thinking that a self proclaimed winner like him may want to withdraw just before d day and misrepresent his gesture as magnanimous and ' for the country'? I still think that he needs the backing of some big republican names to stand a chance vs hillary and he knows that. Interesting really.

The US Republican Party is a disgrace.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Hillary Clinton is a possible president, its a NIGHTMARE.For sure Trump would be idealistic compared with her.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

The Whig Party was a real party in the 19th Century. Got 4 presidents elected. Then anti-slavery and other issues came along and the out of touch Whigs slowly died off.

Is it possible this is the end of the Republican Party? How did they go from great men like Lincoln and James Garfield to Trump, Cruz, and Rubio?

So sad of an evolution.

Trotting out that old fallacy again are we?

No, I'm from California, just drive around and you can see the vacant buildings and a few cities that filed for bankruptcy. Many people in CA and NY have already begun the process to move their money. If you had a Sanders as president, it would only get worse without a doubt. There is a reason why so many people are leaving California and the citizens are being replaced by people from the 3rd world and the great cities of California are slowing succumbing to higher crime and degradation.

All the more reason to move to Orange County.

If the rich want to leave, they can.

They're already doing it and that's nothing to smile about, but if you think that the job creators should leave and it's not a problem, you are so far, so very far off, it's just..... Wow, dude....

They still have to pay taxes though.

They do, I do, that doesn't change, but that's all Sanders will get. Now the burden falls on the already struggling and dwindling middle class.

And let's be realistic, most people aren't going to go into self exile and give up their citizenship just to avoid some taxes.

Oh....a lot of them will, you have no idea, especially if this guy becomes president.

And if they do, that just leaves a vacancy for someone who doesn't leave to step in and take over their business - and start paying taxes.

Oh, yeah? Such as what? Some foreigner with a lot of cash that doesn't understand the American corporate system? Burger King just moved to Canada, many of these companies will just pack up and leave.

Living in fear of the rich leaving is letting the rich hold the country hostage.

How many poor people do you know that provided thousands of jobs to graduates and high skilled workers? I'll bet you can't name me one!

And the US supposedly isn't supposed to negotiate with hostages.

Well that changed under the spineless Democrats, but as greedy as they are, they might find a way to siphon off your money somehow...

The US Republican Party is a disgrace.

Both parties, if you really want to know the truth.

A few weeks ago you were calling Trump supporters lunatics.

Yeah, but people can change. Michael Jackson said it best.

You were ROFLing with the libs when Trump's clown car went honking past and now you are chasing after it.

If that is an attempt at humor and trying to be funny. Just forget it. Libs are so bad at comedy.

Trump is no longer a leader of lunatics in your eyes and you still haven't explained why.

Why is, people can change. "Malcolm X" changed. Obama changed when he left Rev. Wright's church.

Is he still a liberal?

I think so, but hey.....

Is he still a man who will capitulate in foreign policy? Is he still a quasi-socialist?

I believe he will kick *SS in foreign policy and as for him being a socialist, who knows, hope not, but hey, if he does, he'll be a one term president, that's for sure.

I think many like you will desperately be trying to make this clown car look like a sensible motor vehicle. Talk about a 'Unicornverse'.

Hey, you liberals can't talk, you got a habitual liar/socialist and the 74 year old Bolshevik. Be careful about the stones you throw.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

Meanwhile if you sit at many tables quietly in US public spaces you will notice that many low educated whites are saying, blame the immigrants, blame the blacks, blame the government for supporting these previously mentioned, blame the Jews and the government that supports them...blame Obama for things that didn't even exist when he took office, blame Obama for Muslims being in the US, blame liberals for changing history and making the confederate look bad, blame liberals for making the KKK look worse....I can go on and on. There is even a Georgia politician convincing young people that the KKK wasn't that bad! Look it up yourself.

None of what I said is my opinion, just what I hear daily as I am in my hometown right now. And I am in a Democratic state! If we had vids and sound bites here I could play them for you all! And the vast majority of these less educated folk are Trump supporters who think he will make Merica white again! They don't want the Hispanic Cruz or Rubio they say

The current social state in the US is just horrible as white supremist groups tell their supporters that Trump is best to make America more white, as if 12 million people will ever be deported. And why would you want a country that isn't bi-lingual like a vast majority of western white countries? You have people here discouraging their children FROM learning a second language as un-American!? Can you believe it?

And again Trump says on tv we will make America great again.....AGAIN? What like in the 50's and 60's when minorities had to fight to vote? When women had to struggle to be taken seriously? To the 70's when we savaged Vietnamese and got thousands of our boys killed with just a "oops, our bad" and we pulled out? The 80's when the best thing worldwide during Reaganomics to most people was 80's music. Oh wait the 90's when....hell I don't know.

America has always been America......great because of our Hollywood image that never fits reality.

Beautiful post, virgo. Two facts remain: Most Americans are very positive about their personal situation and the direction of the country; and politicians rarely win by pandering to the pessimistic.

Vote "aquí" Here sign. (aquí = "here" in Spanish)

This sign is in Austin, TX (central Texas, but not Dallas-Ft Worth) which is one of the richest/nicest areas of the US. Many people from Cali move to this area. This sign is also 66.66% English which represents Texas and this area very well. The "aquí" is sort of a filler in my opinion and I feel was done in good taste.

-When you get down (South) to the Shark-fin of Texas the advertising slowly becomes almost 90% Spanish. That is the predominant language down there and most people (~1/2) speak English as well. People from Texas understand that and are accommodating. -Los Angeles has Spanish areas, but we are talking 100s of miles area here in Texas (Te-has). Louisiana is similar with a large French area, at one time NYC was mostly UK/Dutch. Miami, FL is very Spanish orientated.

Classic meltdown, and 100% of their own making.

But not half the meltdown that will occur in the democrat party if Hillary is indicted. Funny enough that the main democrat candidate is currently under investigation by the FBI, and yet all anyone can talk about is how bad off things are in the republican party. If the republican candidates weren't so busy throwing rocks at each other, they would be throwing them at Hillary, and many of those rocks would not miss.

Eventually there will be only two candidates, Hillary and probably Trump, and if you think Trump has been tough on Cruz and Rubio, just wait until Hillary is on the opposing podium. She won't take the abuse sitting down, and she has an incredibly short fuse. If you want to see what a real meltdown is, cross your fingers and hope for a Hillary vs Trump debate.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

...hope for a Hillary vs Trump debate.

Oh, yes, please, please, please! Trump would exit any such debate with a falsetto.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Directly from the article: "Trump, the trash-talking ..."

And Hillary Clinton doesn't talk trash at all? Even when she bashes Sanders for criticizing Obama? Pfffft!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Serrano, the most pointed "trash talking" against Trump is coming from within his own party. Among many examples, Max Boot - whose very name is a tribute to his Republican-ness - put it this way:

This is, in general, a moment of testing for Republicans. It is a character test. Do you believe in the open and inclusive party of Ronald Reagan? Or do you want a bigoted and extremist party in the image of Donald Trump? I have been a Republican my entire life, but I will never support Trump. If voters nominate him, they will confirm everything bad that Democrats have ever said about the GOP. A Trump nomination will splinter the party, sully its good name—and increase the risk that a dangerous demagogue will assume the most powerful position in the world.

Ah, well, shucks - perhaps he'll change his mind once Trump is nominated, what with all the wiggle room he left on the above statement.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Thank you President Obama and your classy family for serving Americans with respect and dignity. You all are a class act. Every day that I turn on the TV and hear all the nonsense I thank my lucky stars that you are America's president.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

"Eventually there will be only two candidates, Hillary and probably Trump,"

Don't count Sanders out yet, for one thing, he's not under investigation by the FBI with an indictment hanging over his head, and, heck, Hillary Clinton started out with a, as Trump would say, huuuuuge advantage, as EVERYONE knows who Hillary Clinton is, even the guys living under bridges, and even just a few months ago, almost NOBODY knew who Bernie Sanders was, yet, he won 4 out of 7 Super Tuesday states!

"...hope for a Hillary vs Trump debate."

"Oh, yes, please, please, please! Trump would exit any such debate with a falsetto."

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, too funny!

If Hillary is actually be elected, we will have virtually zero change from the status quo, which would definitely NOT be good. But I think we might actually see a Trump vs Sanders showdown, which will GUARANTEE change.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Don't under estimate Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a successful businessman. He is sharper than most politicians. Trump understands that winning is more on racial line than most politicians or analysts want to admit. For example Obama was able to win because racially almost all blacks voted for him, and he was able to divide and split the white votes. Trump knows that if he can get almost all whites to vote him, and if he can get a portion of black votes he will win; he is a sharp businessman. Whites are less united and less racist in their voting in 2008, unlike blacks. Trump might just pull-off and get most white votes and win. He is energizing the silent majority white voters.

I'm an equal opportunity hater for both of them. As a non-affiliated independent, neither of them have my trust.

Don't under estimate Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a successful businessman

A country is not a business. Trump severely lacks in the diplomacy department and I'm pretty sure he can't see further than the US making cash while alienated and destroying our relationships with our closest allies. I don't want that man to have any access to our nuclear arsenal.

Oh so now he's suddenly a "racist" now . . . for being a true Patriot. (LoL).

Go trump!

The die hard Hillary fans will come out for the state primaries. But when it comes election time, a lot of democrats will just stay home because they don't want another Clinton/bush in office, or they realize that she's just another 0.01%'er and will keep the downgrading of the middle class rolling forward.

Look at the numbers people. Read them and weep. Dems numbers are down while Reps numbers are WAY up. Throw all the labels and insults you want. Just remember, every finger you point at trump supporters, two are pointing back at you. I know it's hard, and maybe even impossible for you Hillary supporters to face reality, just look at how mean many of you are!

Very low brow comments IMO. And even when someone makes a well thought out intelligent comment, if they show any sign of supporting trump, they get a thumbs down. It's almost like you think by winning over this message board Hillary will win. LOL Now, who's living in a dream world?

Oh, and did I forget to say, GO TRUMP!!!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Hillary supporters to face reality, just look at how mean many of you are!

I saw Hillary's (Florida) speech. It was moving. Especially when she said: "Instead of building walls, we'll break down barriers and build ladders of opportunity"

(For who? Americans or illegals hopping the Mex-US border?)

Then the cheering. Lots of it. Blacks and a female muslim in the crowd . . . they even started chanting, "USA-USA-USA."

-remarkable!

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

But this is what she was thinking:

Instead of building walls, we'll break down barriers and build ladders of opportunity for my Wall Street buddies. The middle class is up shits creek without a paddle. But they'll still vote for me hahahaha. Oh! Is the mic still on?

There, fixed it for you.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

"Although the polls show both Clinton and Sanders beating Trump in the election, so I guess it's all good."

Yes, polls at this stage in the race are 100% indicative of what will happen. Let me also say something equally stupid: Democratic turnout in the primaries so far are less than the Republican ones, therefore the GOP candidate in November will surely win. I know it's a liberal echo chamber here but try to be realistic.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Meanwhile if you sit at many tables quietly in US public spaces you will notice that many low educated whites are saying, blame the immigrants, blame the blacks, blame the government for supporting these previously mentioned, blame the Jews and the government that supports them...blame Obama for things that didn't even exist

No, they were MOSTLY blaming Obama for putting illegal immigrants and for not sealing the border and many are blaming the government for not cracking down on employers that hire illegals, that is one big factor why many people blame Obama.

when he took office, blame Obama for Muslims being in the US, blame liberals for changing history and making the confederate look bad, blame liberals for making the KKK look worse....I can go on and on. There is even a Georgia politician convincing young people that the KKK wasn't that bad! Look it up yourself.

Again, it's not about Muslims being Muslims. It's about why Obama would try to force thousands of refugees onto the country when polls show the majority of Americans don't want or feel comfortable with Muslim REFUGEES that we don't know anything about from where they come over 34 governors across the country have told Obama their constituents don't want these refugees and does Obama listen to the people? He does not.

None of what I said is my opinion, just what I hear daily as I am in my hometown right now.

And as a native Californian in a democratic state that travels a lot and does this for a living, there are many, many people that don't have a problem with Muslims or with anyone else, they don't trust this president. He is so out of touch with the people, that is one reason for the resentment and growing hate for this president.

And I am in a Democratic state! If we had vids and sound bites here I could play them for you all! And the vast majority of these less educated folk are Trump supporters who think he will make Merica white again! They don't want the Hispanic Cruz or Rubio they say.

Some do, this is true, but again, the majority care about the border, particularly the people that live in the border states. I worked for a few years near the border in my home state and if you talk to most people, they want an end to the lawlessness and want the border to be sealed.

The current social state in the US is just horrible as white supremist groups tell their supporters that Trump is best to make America more white, as if 12 million people will ever be deported.

Most people know that is impossible, many Whites that support Trump are tired of the racial division that was brought on by Obama and his minions. Yes, many Whites are sick and tired if the reverse discrimination that has run amok in the country.

And why would you want a country that isn't bi-lingual like a vast majority of western white countries?

Because we are an English speaking nation and for the most part always have been, there is nothing wrong with being bilingual, it is not prohibited, it's in fact encouraged, but English is the main language of the country, but racists groups like La RAZA and other border open grounds want to purposely change that. Imagine if the Turkish Muslims in Germany forcefully would advocate to change the language to Turkish?

You have people here discouraging their children FROM learning a second language as un-American!? Can you believe it?

I find it unbelievable when you have Hispanics that have lived in America for 2 generations and don't speak a single word of English and refuse to speak it and stay in their communities and don't even try to assimilate. I find that un-American, not to mention, rude as well as disrespectful.

And again Trump says on tv we will make America great again.....AGAIN? What like in the 50's and 60's when minorities had to fight to vote?

No, after the 7 disastrous years of low wage jobs, high deficit, 45 million people on food stamps, $35 Trillion debt, race relations at an all time low since the 1950s and the highest corporate tax rate, crumbling infrastructure, particularly in the East Coast. Being steamrolled by our enemies, open borders, not cracking down on ILLEGAL immigration, stamping out racism on all sides! Yes, that's his definition of wanting to make America great again.

When women had to struggle to be taken seriously?

How many women does Obama have in his cabinet?

To the 70's when we savaged Vietnamese and got thousands of our boys killed with just a "oops, our bad" and we pulled out? The 80's when the best thing worldwide during Reaganomics to most people was 80's music. Oh wait the 90's when....hell I don't know.

What?

America has never stopped being great. It stopped being whole. (But even obama couldn't fix that). Didn't you listen to Hillary's speech in Florida?

Anyways, who cares about the 50's? America was still great during the Reagan years. The 90's even. Even a little after 9/11/2001.

While making predictions for US in article - " Astrological probable alerts for US in year 2016" - published last year on 15 October 2015 in online magazine thesop.org, one of the predictions made by this Vedic astrology writer to happen in US in 2016 is that US glory will be very much talked about and be in focus. So here Donald .J. Trump , aspirant for Republican Party nomination in race to US Presidential election 2016 is telling the American people that he is the only one who will make America great again. Hillary Clinton is also reported to have referred to the theme but in her own way in modified form. And in this way it can be inferred that the theme has come to central stage of mass appeal and as such , can be distinguished with mere mentioning of the theme in past elections. So prediction of this writer published at thesop.org/story/20151015/astrological-probable-alerts-for-us-in-year-2016.html has come precisely accurate. The theme seems to be fitting into charismatic personality and style of Trump for an impact while it is electors’ choice to weigh things and take appropriate decision.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

"America has never stopped being great. "

"America was still great during the Reagan years. "

Is American great now or not?

"And the liberals that perpetuate the images of a progressive utopia that never fits." Did you know that Trump wants an insurance mandate? Quote:

I like the mandate. Here's where I'm a little bit different. I don't want people dying in the streets

Trump told CNN's Anderson Cooper on February 20 during a televised town hall event.

So I'm fine with Trump because he will raise taxes where needed and increase the public healthcare system. His quote proves it.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

A few months ago, many haters of Trump predicted he will be dropped out from the campaign sooner than later. It has not become the reality. Jed Bush whose has been a darling of Republican party elders have dropped out from the campaign sooner than later.

One of the problem of Jed Bush is he is so fluent in Spanish. Talking too much in Spanish. When I was in Florida, I felt like I was in Spain or Latin America because there are many people speaking Spanish. USA has gradually becoming non English speaking nation.

Donald Trump is the unstoppable tornado for US politics. Love him or hate him, he has proved he is genius in marketing.
