Trump sounds more and more desperate. Is this the only thing he can think of? Bill Clinton isn't running for the presidency and I think most in the US know that. Trump needs to spell out how he's going to tackle the main issues facing the US in detail, but with only just over a month to go I'd say he's too late. Luckily the majority of people in the US won't fall for his BS. In the future, there may well be an independent who wins but that agent of change cannot be Trump.

23 ( +29 / -6 )

Fine with me, and the vast majority of Americans. We look fondly on the 90s as a time of peace and prosperity.

Trump. Dope.

13 ( +20 / -7 )

There isn't a wife on the planet that couldn't related to wanting to gut the beech that knowingly slept with her husband. It's heartbreaking. It hurts like nothing else. Perspective comes much, much later, and the blame goes back to the man who made the vows. But blame Hillary? Hell no. Trump has a lot of gall, he who praised his mistress in public and humiliated the mother of his children.

12 ( +18 / -6 )

Wow. His supporters want solutions and he gives them Bill Clinton.

I'd take him back to the RNC and demand a refund, if I were them. He's clearly broken.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Trump might want to recall the trouncing the Republicans took in the midterm election following their vote for impeachment. Americans might have frowned on Bill's behavior, but

6 ( +10 / -4 )

He seems to have not realized that the first victim of Bill's infidelities was Hillary. If he tries to bring up Bill in the debates, he's going to get slammed on the matter. She doesn't even have to answer any questions, if she makes a well-structured statement regarding the matter, he'll just look stupid if he keeps trying to push it after that. I'm sure his advisors have already told him that, which is why it didn't come out of his mouth on Monday.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Quite a few people advised him against doing this, including a lot of GOP Congressmen. There just isn't any upside and the potential for downside is tremendous, especially with female voters. His base and the anti-Hillary crowd will love it, but they weren't going anywhere anyway.

Personally, I think Trump is having a difficult time with everyone talking about how he lost to Hillary - a woman. This isn't a political decision but more of a personal desire to lash out and not enough self control to stop it.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Trump would know all about corruption and scandals in the 90s, having spent time and money in Cuba.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Now it sounds like Trump did illegal business dealings in Cuba via some dodgy Catholic charity. That won't help him at all. Sounds like he'd do anything to make a buck. Can't wait to see those tax returns.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Trump, though promising lower taxes and “jobs, jobs, jobs” for American workers, has intensified the dire warnings and personal attacks that have defined his outsider presidential bid.

lol Dire warnings like opening a Trump property golf course and hotel during the campaign...meanwhile Hillary praises Angela Merkel to the moon for the umteenth time while bursting once again into uncontrollable laughter.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

There really can be no upside to pursuing Bill's infidelities. If I recall correctly, when it was brought up earlier in Trump's campaign, there was some chatter about how Clinton supposedly did such a disservice to women by staying with Bill. And this was coming from the right, of all places.

I'm genuinely curious to see how Trump spins that when his conservative base is supposed to be all about the sanctity of marriage. Or at least that's how they'd like to view themselves when whinging about gay marriage.

Hillary catches her husband cheating, forgives him, and remains married to him as a fulfillment of vows speaking to "better or worse," and that's supposed to make her . . . a villain? Hmm...

Yeah, Donald. Go ahead. Did into it deep. Get intensely personal. Go further with that thread of reasoning you went with at the start about how Bill's infidelities were because Hillary couldn't satisfy him sexually. Maybe you could throw in a few jabs about Hillary's body image while you're at it. Go for it. Show your base you aren't going to take any guff from a woman.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

She never talks about the issues she only makes wise cracks at Trump. Ad hominems like America doesnt need a racist, xenophobe, misogynist etc. in the White House. Or soundbite statements without the full context ie. shes a pig ( referencing Rosie ODonnell after she made rude comments at Trump). Her record is a complete failure and gets by on her name. Her elitist supporters are scared for their lives because theyll all be held accountable for their corruption and shady dealings.

-24 ( +4 / -28 )

She never talks about the issues she only makes wise cracks at Trump.

Oh, I see you didn't watch the debate.

20 ( +22 / -2 )

All is fair in the game of politics, but then again, this is not your average political campaign, if the left want to sling mud at the Trump, then he should sling it back.

-27 ( +4 / -31 )

Trump goes after Bill Clinton

Is Bill running, too?

If (God forbid) elected, will Trump obsess about other world leaders' spouses?

Or does he secretly just want to be Bill?

16 ( +17 / -1 )

How many of his opponents spouses has he gone after now?

These kind of accusations are pretty rich coming from someone who has been married three times, has had countless affairs and publicly trashed his first wife (and mother of his children) in the media while prancing around with and eventually marrying his mistress.

Nevermind the fact that Hillary was the victim of a cheating spouse, not the cheater herself.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

LOL I knew it. This is all he has, a 20 year-old affair. So much for issues...

@pointofview

She never talks about the issues she only makes wise cracks at Trump. Ad hominems like America doesnt need a racist, xenophobe, misogynist etc.

Do you think America needs one? Because his own words and actions seem to indicate it's all true, and it is a serious issue to have someone like that in office.

Or soundbite statements without the full context ie. shes a pig ( referencing Rosie ODonnell after she made rude comments at Trump).

You want full context, Rosie's "rude" comments were in response about Trump's hypocritical comments about a Miss USA's partying and morality. In it, she pointed out Trump's multiple divorces and affairs... And now he's making hypocritical comments about Clinton's affairs... Classy.

Her record is a complete failure and gets by on her name.

Seriously? And Trump's failures? I'm sure inheriting his dad's name and fortune had nothing to do with his fame and "success." At least Clinton worked to get her name.

Her elitist supporters are scared for their lives because theyll all be held accountable for their corruption and shady dealings.

No corruption and shady dealings with Trump, right? Audit my ass. Personally, I'm afraid of what having a man like Trump in office would do to the progress we've made as a country. His candidacy is already making it more socially acceptable to express racist views. We'd be moving backwards as a country. I'm not a huge fan of Clinton, but I'd take her any day over Trump. He has all her weaknesses about lies and corruption with the added baggage of being dumb, racist, xenophobic, sexist, etc.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

The clown attempts to play his Dumpf card.

When we have finished with Cuba, we can talk about Trump 'University' and the Trump 'Foundation'.

Just pull out, you idiot. You will lose every state and queer the pitch for Repubs in Congress (not that I care about that, but still...)

7 ( +9 / -2 )

The Republicans deserve what's coming for choosing him.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

@bass4funk This election it seems that mud slinging is all the republicans do, haven't heard a coherent plan yet.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Hillary was the victim of a cheating spouse

I'd say she used up her victim card when she used the full power of the White House to try to destroy her husband's rape and sexual assault victims, calling them "bimbos" no less. And now she claims to be a supporter of victims of sexual assault.

Really, you want to defend these actions?

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

There isn't a wife on the planet that couldn't related to wanting to gut the beech that knowingly slept with her husband. It's heartbreaking.

What about rape and sexual assault? Does anyone seriously believe that Slick Willy is not capable of and wiling to lie to cover up his abuse of women? What is relevant to this election is the fact that Hillary stood by her man after every one of his victims came out and exposed him for his abuses. She defended him by slandering these women. Trump and Hillary are two sides of the same coin.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

You want full context, Rosie's "rude" comments were in response about Trump's hypocritical comments about a Miss USA's partying and morality. In it, she pointed out Trump's multiple divorces and affairs... And now he's making hypocritical comments about Clinton's affairs... Classy.

Are liberals THAT desperate where they have to dig in their trunks of dusty archives of irrelevant and past accusations? It's stupid and whiney, I don't mind the left hitting Trump on relevant issues pertaining to the country, social and economical issues, but talking about Rosie or Miss America.

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

For all the downvoters (who I guess don't equally support sexual assault victims), even the NY Times, which has endorsed Hillary, has concerns about this: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/21/us/politics/90s-scandals-threaten-to-erode-hillary-clintons-strength-with-women.html

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

they have to dig in their trunks of dusty archives of irrelevant and past accusations?

You mean, like Dumpf and the Lewinsky story?

nfi:

Thanks. Original comment expunged for unknown reasons. Discussion not encouraged, clearly.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Well if the Clintons do get back into the White House.......they can no longer blame the dogs for all the stains on the carpet......haha

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

@bass4funk

Are liberals THAT desperate where they have to dig in their trunks of dusty archives of irrelevant and past accusations?

Uh, you realize this article is about Trump bringing up a 20 year-old affair, right? And I was only responding to another commenter. But fine, you want more recent examples, what about his comments about Carlie Fiorina's face, his re-tweeting an unflattering picture of Ted Cruz's wife comparing it to his own wife, Megyn Kelly's blood from wherever, Clinton's look, etc. I think a lot of women consider sexism an important social issue.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

LFR some might argue that all of her "achievements" show what a consummate political insider and crony she is. Don is getting out the scattergun - desperate and also not likely to help his cause.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

To be honest, it's understandable. Looking at the debate, this approach is his best chance. I think even he knows he's out of his depth when talking about substantive issues. The depressing thing is many of his supporters don't see this.

He's trash. That's his level and don't his whoopers love it. Clinton's deplorables quote was ill-advised but bang on the money.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

you want more recent examples, what about his comments about Carlie Fiorina's face, his re-tweeting an unflattering picture of Ted Cruz's wife comparing it to his own wife, Megyn Kelly's blood from wherever, Clinton's look, etc. I think a lot of women consider sexism an important social issue.

Had no idea these were presidential qualifications that were relevant in determining if a person is fit to serve in the Oval Office, because if so, there is a slew of quotes that in theory should disqualify Hillary, but most of the voters don't care. Trump supporters could care less about his mouth and Hilary supporters could care less about her emails, servers and lies. Hillary is the worst and lowest filth for Trump supporters and the opposite is felt by Hillary supporters looking at Trump. Not going to change my vote and probably none of the other Americans that will vote in this election and are Hillary supporters.

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

One sometimes wonders why Trump even has advisers. You can guess that all of them cautioned Trump not to go after Bill's infidelities in the strongest of terms - which is why he somehow managed to barely restrain himself during the debate (Chelsea was just a convenient excuse) - and yet, here we are. Pushback against Trump's glaring hypocrisy was inevitable; everyone with an IQ in the upper double digits knew that, and it starts.

"Trump Pleaded The Fifth 97 Times To Avoid Admitting To Adultery" says the headline of this article discussing Don's divorce from Ivanka back in 1990. Wow - that's 97 times more than I've ever pleaded the Fifth - and this was only in one deposition! So much for his tactic of going after Clinton's server managers for doing the same.

The man just cannot control himself.

Hrm. I bet you don't mind Trump hitting Clinton on what her husband did in the 90s like he's threatening to do. I'm equally certain you'd be howling with outrage if Clinton ever dug up anything on any of Trump's relatives and threatened to bring it up.

Hillary is the worst and lowest filth for Trump supporters and the opposite is felt by Hillary supporters looking at Trump. Not going to change my vote and probably none of the other Americans that will vote in this election and are Hillary supporters.

Trump appears to be too stupid to understand that he's got to get the people who haven't decided one way or the other on his side.

And yet, he was going on about Hillary's people pleading the fifth.

More hypocrisy from Don the Con.

Just look at his popularity numbers with women. Women voters seem to care, and that makes it relevant if he really wants to win. Bringing up the affair isn't going to help...

Hmmm...how many times did Hillary say, she know nothing about her emails, how they disappeared, what happened to her server and everyone involved mysteriously received FBI immunity, every report on her is redacted?? Doesn't quite give a lot of hope and confidence in the woman.

I'm a paranoid schizophrenia because i think people are stealing my ideas lol.

Never done yet!! proof.

How to defeat America in Afghanistan and holt / kill troops.

To kill troops "not going to tell the Taliban this" and to holt patrols they would use small explosives to destroy $30++ billion dollars worth of detecting gear each year. Wire bombs up and much more.

Never done before....Cheap home made "electromagnet wave detectors" and cheap home made "x-ray detectors" can be used in away to destroy there detecting gear and kill troops :). Terrorist are not doing this or anyone....not done.

Use 99% less explosives then an IED bomb, detects it then blows up :).

We can even wire some apart to stop a big field from tricking the bombs, the lights indicate it's strength and it will no the distance apart. I can counter the counter counter 2.

These 2 videos show you how cheap it will be to do and make one. Not hard to wire light 5 or 50 to the explosives bang.

Troops with metal detectors will see bombs blow up on them now.

Bombs can be put under the road and made to slide back 3 - 10 meters once it detects the electromagnetic wave or radiation wave or any wave........Under the troops bang.

Copper slugs can be used with thermite to see less explosives needed "but mainly" to destroy the detecting gear, and plant them within 5 min not 1 hour.

That means they can plant 100,000 of them in a week, holt patrols and take back over.

Troops with metal detectors...BANG dead, set the bomb off.

I won the Iraq war and could have won the Afghanistan war, before a broken deal was reached.

People with paranoid schizophrenia don't come up with undone weapons......They would be used so copy and past fails this time Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) :).

Yeas ago i told them to say i copied and pasted strategies, but sadly for them, this is never done clearly or they are all dead.

Cost of this new weapon is $10.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Cost of this new weapon is $10.

All of your conclusions are wrong.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Not only Bill story but he again talking birthervstory.

Someone needs to tell him only Hillary is a Democratic candidate.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Hmmm...how many times did Hillary say, she know nothing about her emails, how they disappeared, what happened to her server and everyone involved mysteriously received FBI immunity, every report on her is redacted??

The more important takeaway here is that she didn't invoke the fifth amendment because she didn't need to.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

@SuperLib

Sorry mate it's correct and that's that. $10 weapon.

Go on to say how it won't work?

I am looking forward to your reply

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Imagine a woman who showed up unprepared to a presidential debate sniffling like a coke fiend and interrupted her opponent over 50 times. Further imagine she'd had 5 kids by 3 men, was a repeat adulterer, had had 6 bankruptcies, could not document paying taxes, and had profited from a housing crisis in which thousands of her fellow citizens had lost their homes. Imagine she'd been sued more than 60 times for non-payment by contractors and workmen, that she'd never held elected office, and that her political carreer had begun with a racially-motivated accusation against a sitting president that he was not a US citizen. Would you take her seriously?

13 ( +13 / -0 )

It's gonna be so much fun on this site on Wednesday November 8 after Trump's victory has been finalized.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Trump = reality's president Camacho. Actually, I think Camacho would be better suited as president than Trump.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

"Trump’s team said he had been prepared to bring up the Lewinsky scandal during Monday night’s debate but decided otherwise because the Clintons’ daughter, Chelsea, was in the room."

Have to say I didnt get it on Tuesday and still don't see the correlation between the two 3 days later. So according to Trump's team it would have been ok to hurt Bill and Hillary should chelsea (36yo) had decided to stay at home but her presence changed the whole dynamics? Right. She is 36yo ffs and although she has digested and possibly forgiven her dad it will NEVER be pleasant to hear about this either live in an audience, at home, on mags etc. Or do they reckon she would have had a good chuckle on the sofa 'now that's my dad'! Seriously! ?

During the debate I initially thought 'good on DT for not bringing this up again' but it's now clear in my mind it was a PR coup: appear magnanimous during the debate and spend the next 3 days saying to the media how magnanimous I have been by not saying bill cheated on Hillary blablabla which is a great opportunity to remind journos and ppl that he cheated on her!

Oldest trick in the book Donald.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

@Strangerland,

Most of her debate moments were ad hominems.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

The more important takeaway here is that she didn't invoke the fifth amendment because she didn't need to.

Why would she? She's got Comey to protect her.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Why would she? She's got Comey to protect her.

Ah, again with the "Everyone's On Hillary's Side" paranoia. The courts, the Department of Justice, the media, the Left, women, minorities... Anyone else I'm missing there?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Ah, again with the "Everyone's On Hillary's Side" paranoia. The courts, the Department of Justice, the media, the Left, women, minorities... Anyone else I'm missing there?

Nope! You pretty much named them all.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Most of her debate moments were ad hominems.

Apparently you didn't watch it.

Ah, again with the "Everyone's On Hillary's Side" paranoia. The courts, the Department of Justice, the media, the Left, women, minorities... Anyone else I'm missing there?

I'm sure they'll figure she paid off the tens of millions of people who vote for her as well.

As well as all posters on JT who support her. And hey, let's just throw in the Dalai Lama for sh*ts and giggles too. Everyone is corrupt.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

But Hillary can say "But in spite of everything, we never GOT DIVORCED!!!" And Trump will go "EEUUU, EEEUUUU, EEEUUUU...." as his hair falls in his face.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I really do feel sorry for Hillary supporters. Living in a dream world wearing rose colored glasses, selfish establishment tools. More war, more debt, more pandering to get votes, while the world burns and the middle class dissolves.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

So a 3 time marriage loser is going to complain about a marriage that looks to be working hard to keep it together. Of course his nibs has no idea.

Also, this has nothing to do with Hillary.

Just out to lunch as always. It's good that he didn't bring it up, it would have reflected back at him for all his wives and his inability to develop deeper meaning in a relationship at the first sign of trouble. Likely his own need to keep marrying younger

Trump doesn't realize he dodged a bullet to his own credibility. No Faux Repub could possibly mention it to him, it is to laugh.

I guess when you have zero credibility, grasping at straws looks like statesmanship

7 ( +7 / -0 )

What does Bill's affairs have anything to do with Hillary's campaign? It's like Trump's affairs and three marriages have nothing to do with his. This is a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So a 3 time marriage loser is going to complain about a marriage that looks to be working hard to keep it together. Of course his nibs has no idea.

Wait a minute, Bill gets the best....in the Oval office has numerous secret affairs with other women, too many to count, allegedly rapes a woman and you guys talk about Trump as if he's a monster for being a 3 time married man??! Wow!

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

@Strangerland,

I watched it and thats what she basically did. She also took personal shots to try and win over women but it is her record that says otherwise. Complaining about Trump supporters? Arent you a Clinton supporter? I guess you like your high level public servants corrupt eh?

Shes being 100% protected. 5 people given immunity, smashing electr items, lied like a rug etc. Your candidate isnt so moral.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

bass4funk

Hillary and Bill are different people. Bill's traffic tickets aren't Hillary's either. Any serious crimes are not shared between two people as well.

But that's reality. If you can't separate the two presidencies then I would suggest seeing someone about that

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Wait a minute, Bill gets the best....in the Oval office has numerous secret affairs with other women, too many to count, allegedly rapes a woman and you guys talk about Trump as if he's a monster for being a 3 time married man??!

How do Bill's indiscretions excuse Trump's?

I watched it and thats what she basically did. She also took personal shots to try and win over women but it is her record that says otherwise.

We aren't talking about her record, we are talking about her performance at the debate, which you claimed were 'mostly ad hominem' attacks. Please give me a list of some of these 'ad hominem' attacks, and I'll show how she supported her claims with actual facts, and not just name calling.

I guess you like your high level public servants corrupt eh?

Oh, didn't you know? I'm not as stupid as the sheep that have fallen for the smear campaign against her, and I've actually looked into the facts, and found her to be not corrupt. I fact check by reading both sides of a point, not just the one that fits the talking points I hear.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Just to refresh your lackadaisical memories.

2014

From: Powell

To: (mega donor) Jeffrey Leeds

"I would rather not have to vote for her, although she is a friend I respect. A 70-year person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, non transformational, with a husband still d%#cking bimbos at home."

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Seems like your leader has his own penchant for bimbo's, Fizz. And Goldman Sachs employees.

There is no word in the dictionary to correctly describe the contradictions spouted by Trump's radical followers. It needs its' own bespoke psychiatric appellation...

4 ( +5 / -1 )

and found her to be not corrupt.

Oh really? Keep looking.

If you looked at the U.S. economy under a microscope, what you’d see is a gigantic cancerous blob of cronyism surrounded by tech startups and huge prisons. If you zeroed in on the cancerous tumor, at the nucleus you’d see a network of crony institutions like the Federal Reserve, intelligence agencies, TBTF Wall Street banks and defense contractors. Pretty close to that, you’d probably find the Clinton Foundation. A veritable clearinghouse for cronyism masquerading as a charity.

The Clinton Foundation’s finances are so messy that the nation’s most influential charity watchdog put it on its “watch list” of problematic nonprofits last month.

The Clinton family’s mega-charity took in more than $140 million in grants and pledges in 2013 but spent just $9 million on direct aid.

The group spent the bulk of its windfall on administration, travel, and salaries and bonuses, with the fattest payouts going to family friends.

“It seems like the Clinton Foundation operates as a slush fund for the Clintons,” said Bill Allison, a senior fellow at the Sunlight Foundation, a government watchdog group where progressive Democrat and Fordham Law professor Zephyr Teachout was once an organizing director

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

So by blaming Hillary for her husband's indiscretions, Trump has in one fell swoop alienated all women voters. This was a non-issue that he should never have brought up, much less blame a woman (Hillary), for it. That is wrong on so many levels.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Maybe you should keep looking. According to factcheck.org (http://www.factcheck.org/2015/06/where-does-clinton-foundation-money-go/)

most of the Clinton Foundation’s charitable work is performed in-house. One independent philanthropy watchdog did an analysis of Clinton Foundation funding and concluded that about 89 percent of its funding went to charity.

Simply put, despite its name, the Clinton Foundation is not a private foundation — which typically acts as a pass-through for private donations to other charitable organizations. Rather, it is a public charity. It conducts most of its charitable activities directly.

Asked for backup, the CARLY for America super PAC noted that the Clinton Foundation’s latest IRS Form 990 shows total revenue of nearly $149 million in 2013, and total charitable grant disbursements of nearly $9 million (see page 10). That comes to roughly 6 percent of the budget going to grants. And besides those grants, the super PAC said, “there really isn’t anything that can be categorized as charitable.”

That just isn’t so. The Clinton Foundation does most of its charitable work itself.

Katherina Rosqueta, the founding executive director of the Center for High Impact Philanthropy at the University of Pennsylvania, described the Clinton Foundation as an “operating foundation.”

“There is an important distinction between an operating foundation vs. a non-operating foundation,” Rosqueta told us via email. “An operating foundation implements programs so money it raises is not designed to be used exclusively for grant-making purposes. When most people hear ‘foundation’, they think exclusively of a grant-making entity. In either case, the key is to understand how well the foundation uses money — whether to implement programs or to grant out to nonprofits — [to achieve] the intended social impact (e.g., improving education, creating livelihoods, improving health, etc.).”

Craig Minassian, chief communications officer for the Clinton Foundation, said the Clinton Foundation is “an implementer.”

“We operate programs on the ground, around the world, that are making a difference on issues ranging from poverty and global health to climate change and women’s and girls’ participation,” Minassian told us via email. “Many large foundations actually provide grants to the Clinton Foundation so that our staff can implement the work.”

Asked for some examples of the work it performs itself, the Clinton Foundation listed these:

Clinton Development Initiative staff in Africa train rural farmers and help them get access to seeds, equipment and markets for their crops. Clinton Climate Initiative staff help governments in Africa and the Caribbean region with reforestation efforts, and in island nations to help develop renewable energy projects. Staff at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, an independent, affiliated entity, work in dozens of nations to lower the cost of HIV/AIDS medicine, scale up pediatric AIDS treatment and promote treatment of diarrhea through life-saving Zinc/ORS treatment. Clinton Health Matters staff work with local governments and businesses in the United States to develop wellness and physical activity plans.

To bolster its case, CARLY for America noted that the Clinton Foundation spent 12 percent of its revenue on travel and conferences and 20 percent of its revenue on salaries. That’s true. But the Form 990 specifically breaks out those travel, conference and salary expenses that are used for “program service expenses” versus those that are used for management or fundraising purposes.

For example, nearly 77 percent of the $8.4 million spent on travel in 2013 went toward program services; 3.4 percent went to “management and general expenses”; and about 20 percent went to fundraising.

As for conferences, nearly 98 percent of money spent was tabbed as a programming expense. And when it comes to salaries — which includes pension plan contributions, benefits and payroll taxes — about 73 percent went to program service expenses.

And there is more, but that's probably more than I need to copy and paste.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Trump and fans are just desperate after even his campaign person admitted he broke the law on Fox and his supporters have told him to stay away from Bill's scandals. Clinton's focusing on what she can and will do and is being positive. Trump has nothing so is resorting to the usual GOP tack of attacking character. The guy can't help himself. I bet he cries like a baby and threatens to leave the next debate, blaming it on everyone else.

Wait a minute, Bill gets the best....in the Oval office has numerous secret affairs with other women, too many to count, allegedly rapes a woman and you guys talk about Trump as if he's a monster for being a 3 time married man??! Wow!

Aren't you neglecting to mention that Trump also had affairs while he was married, is facing a trial for underage rape, hung out with paedophiles like Jeffrey Epstein (Says Trump: “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”)and had this to say about a teacher convicted of the statutory rape of a 14 year-old student:

"I know a lot of guys who are trying to date her right now, Don [Ismus]. None of them looked like that, believe me. So do you think this 14-year-old kid is scarred forever? He might have put the move on her. It might have given him confidence, actually."

Being married three times is hardly grounds for calling someone a monster, but with Trump there's all this other stuff that's just a bit... ewwww, don't you think? No, what am I saying, of course you don't.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Of the two candidates, Trumph is the only one with a known affair (with Marla Maples and surely others) and has huge (I mean huge) problems with his ego and his view of women.

Bill Clinton's affairs is Trump's next deflection. I couldn't care if Bill had an affair. It isn't my problem, and it should have never been the issue it was made out to be by the Republican lynch mob congress.

I only care that Trumph had an affair because he is using someone else's affair as a weapon.

Besides, Bill Clinton was one of the U.S.' best presidents and did a lot for our country then and is still doing a lot for the country and the world. Trumph only serves himself.

Trumph should bring Bill Clinton's many affairs up at the next debate. Hillary will make him look like an idiot again.

There is a lot not to like about Clinton, but she is not the complete idiot Trumph is.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

What on Earth has Bill Clinton's affair got to do with the 2016 election?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

That just isn’t so. The Clinton Foundation does most of its charitable work itself.

On its 2013 tax forms, the most recent available, the foundation claimed it spent $30 million on payroll and employee benefits; $8.7 million in rent and office expenses; $9.2 million on “conferences, conventions and meetings”; $8 million on fundraising; and nearly $8.5 million on travel. None of the Clintons is on the payroll, but they do enjoy first-class flights paid for by the foundation.

We could go back and forth on this but I'm done. More important issues. I defended Bill back in the day that Ken Starr had no justification for going after him. But Powell's e-mail certainly raises my eyebrow, Spock style. As far as I'm concerned, it's Hillary's hegemonic cabal that I don't like and will vote for anyone but her. We just got lucky that a true American is running for president and not some establishment tool.

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

It's amazing that you would think you're lucky a bigoted misogynistic quick-to-anger twitter-warring one-percenter who has never known what it's like to be an average American in his entire life is running for president.

Its cute how you think philandering, tax-dodging, fraudster like Trump is a true American. Personally I love seeing his deplorable fanboys getting so desperate.

We just got lucky that a true American is running for president and not some establishment tool.

There are lots of Republicans and at least some of them, I assume, are not just true Americans but also smart, decent and sane. Yet they ended up with Donald Trump as their candidate. I'm surprised you think anyone got lucky except the Democrats.

Media are now shilling for every defamation coming out of Trumps mouth to the point they have to ask themselves why are they doing it

The needless and endless trolling and fact checking is quite wearisome to the point the world needs volumes to keep countering every lie on every sentence. It would be far more cost effective to stop all Trump news reporting and all Trump supporters from spewing forth

They're not economic

Ever

I'm not talking about reasonable debate or differences. It's the Tea Party deep end that needs to be closed off for good

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Sorry, but I don't read these advertisements for the US and A every day. Did Hillary drop out and Bill replace her?

But if spouses are being brought into it, surely Bill is way more qualified to be first-spouse than Trump's mail-order bride?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

A fun twist for the media would be to report on only the news from Trump that is true and passed fact checking. Since that's what the media used to do, it would call out how important telling the truth really is. It would also curtail all the nonsense from Trump. If you only heard what was true, what would be left? It'd be great way to neuter his relevance

4 ( +4 / -0 )

A fun twist for the media would be to report on only the news from Trump that is true and passed fact checking.

They could even do it for her too. We've heard all the lies. Now lets only hear the truth.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Here's your Fact Check. Or should I say Fat Check.

1999-Clintons tax return was $417,467.

2014-Clintons tax return was $28,336,212.

Corrupt, warmonger, weapons saleswoman, elitist, Wall Street lap dog, Corporate tool, MSM stooge; what else could the lefties want in a leader? LOL

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

Listening to Trump debate is like listening to a sales pitch from a used car salesperson. They both bring up irrelevant points and tell lie after lie. Yet, he could be even worse as Trump also likes to whine and make excuses when things don't go his way. Such as when he claims that the debate was 'rigged' to divert attention from the fact that he really was terrible.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

You see, Trump does not actually have any grasp of any issues, but he understands infidelity very well! So that is what he will make an issue.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

We just got lucky that a true American is running for president and not some establishment tool.

Trump?! A true American? I never was handed $14 million (adjusted) dollars from my pop and told to go make a go of it in the world. I've never owned and the lost casinos. I've never told minorities they can't live/work/be near me. I've never disparaged a woman. I've never been divorced, much less three times. I've never mocked the disabled. I've never mocked a veteran. I've never wiggled my way out of paying taxes and boasted about it on national TV.

But these are all things Trump has done.

True American, my heinie. He's a fraud.

And now it's been revealed that his "foundation" (cough! cough!) didn't actually have a license to solicit donations. The hits just keep coming, and October isn't even here yet.

Do most Trump supporters drive old Ford Pickups with shotguns in the cab and a huntin' dawgs in the back? That's the impression I'm getting of them. Yahoos as they would be called in days of yore. Everything is a conspiracy, everyone is against them except Trump (they believe)... it's all I see from his personal appearances... they look like they should be chasing National Guardsmen through the mangrove swamps of Florida or playing banjos in tree houses... bit like UKIP supporters back home lol

Kind of proves how oblivious you are to the anti-establishment movement. OR....just shows how much CNN you watch.

Trump gets thousands at his rallies while Hillary get hundreds. She does have a lot of $50,000+ plate dinners/fundraisers though, with a lot of Hollywood and Wall Street big wigs. That's who you want to be president? A money eater? You might as well clone Caligula, it would be the same.

The writings on the wall but you're still fooled by the MSM talking heads. Amazing!

I've seen some of Trump's rallies. They strike me as more like pantomimes or pro-wrestling events. Trump blows wind out of the wrong end and people start whooping.

To you Trump might be the standard bearer for the more cerebral anti-establishment types, but his rallies don't reflect that.

Well... Bill's not my type so The Donald is welcome to him.

It was Trump’s latest effort to bounce back from Monday night’s debate performance, which has been widely panned as lackluster. -- article

According to whom? Members of the Hillary Clinton MSM Super Pac? If that statement was remotely true, she'd now be "at least 50 points ahead" in public opinion polls. The reality is nearly all the post-debate polls showed that Americans, when asked, said he won the night this past Monday.

Since then, Mr. Trump has spoken before tens of thousands of people. By contrast, Mrs. Clinton could not fill 350 seats at an Elks Lodge. Even the offer of a free all-you-can-eat buffet could not lure more people to come and listen to her.

I say let the bought and paid for juice box "journalists" -- many of whom were not even born yet when she first entered and failed on the national political scene more than 40 years ago -- keep extolling the greatness pro-war candidate Mrs. Clinton is. That'll mean fewer votes and another failed presidential bid for her and more votes for either Mr. Trump or 3rd party alternatives in about 40 days. . . .

The fact also remains that no one of importance has endorsed Trump and no big newspapers have either. Even Arizona's biggest newspaper which hasn't endorsed a Democrat in its 126-year history has now endorsed Hillary. That really says something about Trump. I have a feeling that on November 8, it isn't going to be close at all. I'm still betting on Hillary winning by 8%.

Ok, so that's one newspaper source, it has nothing to do with the voters. Who cares if a newspaper endorses a candidate or not, that's the equivalent of being endorsed by the Hollywood elite, nothing of significance.

Smaller stories off to the side with no pictures talk about Trump's, um, "paperwork flub" with his foundation that allowed him to escape audit and his attempt to do business in Cuba, skirting the embargo.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Taking a wrecking ball and destroying the Washington establishment.

More like taking a wrecking ball and destroying the world with it. Trump has only one thing on his mind, and that is to win this election. He could care less about doing any good in the world. As long as people know his name, watch his TV shows, and buy what he has to sell, he's happy. He'll burn bridges, create walls, segregate people, and throw away democracy in order to do it.

But that's the kind of monster the Republican party has bred. Throughout history, the right has played the infidelity card to create scandal on a Democratic President (e.g. John F. Kennedy), or Presidential candidate (e.g. Gary Hart) in order to 'win at all costs'. It's sad to think that irrelevant points like that need to take precedence over how well a person can do their job.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"I noticed you used "their" rather than "our". Sounds like elitist snobbery to me."

"I learned a lot from Obama."

You are cut from a similar cloth. You have both used your considerable intellects - he in politics and you in many diverse fields to be successful. I don't fly at that altitude.

What do feel when you see Trump's whoopers? Pity? Paternalistic feelings?

The Trump campaign is out of ideas when they start attacking a candidate's spouse.

What was actually Hillary's ideas besides bringing up the irrelevant past?

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

bass: By the way, how DID she rack up over 400 million dollars over 12 years?

You went from $300 million to "billions" and now it's down to $400 million. Might want to pick one and stick to it.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

What was actually Hillary's ideas besides bringing up the irrelevant past?

The "be" verb you're looking for there is "were," not "was," Mr. "Journalist." And bringing up matters that speak directly to Trump's character as a person are very relevant to the discussion. A man who would disparage women on a regular basis is not a man who can be expected to fairly represent a full one-half of the electorate as the president of the United States.

Bringing up the infidelities of Clinton's husband, however, is not relevant. I know perfectly well you understand the difference, yet choose to not recognize it. But that's okay. We all understand that about you now.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I just don't get the argument. Both Bill and Trump have had affairs....so don't vote for Hillary?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What was (sic) actually Hillary's ideas besides bringing up the irrelevant past?

If you want a list of what she says she wants to do once elected, they're all here: https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/

As for "irrelevant past", Trump bringing up Bill Clinton's woes have anything she says about Trump's actual past quotes or actions beat in the "irrelevance" department. If she started to go after Trump's wife's past actions, THEN she would have stooped down to Trump's level.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I just don't get the argument. Both Bill and Trump have had affairs....so don't vote for Hillary?

I think what the right is upset about (and what he should continue to clarifiy) is that HIllary talks a good game of equal rights but when it comes to dealing with the actual women who have been sexually victimized by your husband you have publicly attacked, unfairly lashed out and insulted those women, making her an enabler to his conduct (co-conspirator to be exact according to Dolly Kyle)

Yes, but don't you know? Any organzation that supports Hillary or, worse yet, does not support Trump, is part of some vast and nefarious global cabal bent on perpetuating the status quo" the cabal is comprised of entities ranging from Fox News the Department of Justice and goes all the way down to the most poorly circulated small-town newspaper. Everyone is part of this cabal, and if you're not with Trump, you're clearly with the cabal or, at the very least, an unwitting minion.

At least that's how Fizzbit would have everyone believe as he rehashes the glory days of his college sophomore year when he was leader of an "anti-establishment" group headquartered in the student union basement.

For us non-us citizen(majority of the world) this type of discussions are way boring. Just elect someone not that it will make a difference to the world as such.

Why don't other countries get similar coverage? Reading the news from back home there is ZERO coverage on the US election till someone is actually elected.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Why don't other countries get similar coverage?

Because other countries don't have their hands on the keys of a nuclear arsenal that could destroy the world several times over. Because other countries don't have an economy and currency that, if the US sneezes, the rest of the world shivers along with it.

That's not me being braggadocious. That's me realistic. The US has a tremendous amount of power and influence throughout the world, for better or worse. And if that power and influence were to fall into the hands of a chief executive who is far less than competent, the entire world could very well suffer for it.

You may not like that US wields so much influence in the world, but not liking it doesn't magically dispel it either.
