So according to Obama millions of people who support Trump are unfit? Only Hillary is healthy?

-26 ( +15 / -41 )

....and Obama himself is fit to be president even after nearly eight years experience! Look at what had happened in the primaries, a division of both parties produced much controversy in the process. It is clear after nearly eight years both Democrats and republicans wanted change.

On the democratic side cheating positioned Clinton. It was a close race if no internal dirty play was involved.

On the republican side the chosen one seemed to be Bush and he withdrew early and we end up with Trump.

President Obama, you have divided the nation on many levels.

-28 ( +10 / -38 )

Trump is a goner anyway. The important thing is to rip into the GOP power to impose gridlock. End their Senate majority. Whittle-down their House majority. Knock off GOP governors. Turn state legislatures to Democrat - then do redistribution so they lose Gerrymandered House seats. GOP must be SEVERELY PUNISHED for their blatant lies, service to the rich and imposing disgusting Trump on our awareness.

19 ( +30 / -11 )

Obama was unfit and we had to deal with him for almost 8 years. So the anointed one can dictate who can or who should be president. This guy was one of the worst and he thinks he can decide for the people?

The important thing is to rip into the GOP power to impose gridlock. End their Senate majority. Whittle-down their House majority. Knock off GOP governors.

Ok, so for liberals, it's about ideology, NOT about the people, I get it. So liberals want to control once again, all 3 branches of government? Didn't work out too well last time.

Turn state legislatures to Democrat - then do redistribution so they lose Gerrymandered House seats. GOP must be SEVERELY PUNISHED for their blatant lies, service to the rich and imposing disgusting Trump on our awareness.

ROFL, liberals are too, too funny.

-38 ( +6 / -44 )

While I do appreciate Obama’s expertise on being unfit for office. I wonder if he read the FBI report? What does it say about the DNC that Clinton is their standard-bearer?

-15 ( +9 / -24 )

Clinton is more unfit....look at her email,,,and no press conferene for over 230 days Why? GO the TRUMP

-24 ( +10 / -34 )

@crazyJoe.... What kind of USA would we have id you had it your way? Seriously now, please elaborate.

FYI the billionaires are jumping Hillary's corner. Is that because the GOP is in their pocket or the opposite?

The "Blatent lies" you refer to...what are they? Isn't it Hillary the one with the "Blatent lies"? The Washington Post gave her a failing grade just yesterday and that publication is in her corner!!! Time to wake up and breath some resh air.

-23 ( +3 / -26 )

Trump is 'unfit,' Obama says

Ceratinly. But Trump hasn't changed. He's the same loud mouthed "Alf Garnett" that he always was. How come he got this far?

Hilary is possibly worse.

Time to scrap it all and start again.

0 ( +11 / -11 )

Preys. meant well maybe but he should stays away to Hillary Trump fight. Hillary was doing well in fighting but now she looks like she can't argue by herself. Maybe Obama wanted go on TPP talks behind of her back? Last TPP talk, Hillary was well prepared on numbers and he was not.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Time to scrap it all and start again.

If it boils down to choosing a loudmouth, a liar and crook or a socialist, I'll go for the the loudmouth.

Other than that, I just don't know who else.

-27 ( +5 / -32 )

Indeed, Obama is personally knowledgeable about being unfit to be president. And he supports the next most unfit candidate, Hillary.

-17 ( +6 / -23 )

No options at this point Bertie. The DNC had only one to place on its pedestal. Who could replace her at this point. Bernie at his point has disappointed and not only gave into the unfair primary Democrat process but he endorsed the same cheater he suspected in rigging the primaries after proof of his suspicions were found to be true.

The Repubs have a larger pool to choose but Cruz couldn't fit in now.

I've been after DC change for years. Obama, who I did vote for ore oppose in 2008 offered 'Hope and Change', I accepted that and had hope for change......hope quickly when the man squandered Trillions of dollars with no return. 2012, I did vote against. 2016 Hillary cannot be Prez. Trump is no champion candidate though he is much more qualified than Obama and Hillary.

Both Obama and Hillary spent tens of millions of dollars to be elected. Trump is at a dead heat with Hillary spending perhaps 1/10 or less. Surely you can see the efficiency of campaign monies. Hillary will break the back of United States and that I don't want!

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

Trump is crumbling in front of us. Saying 'Get that crying baby out of here' at his latest rally borders on child abuse.

He is also withholding his support in the Paul Ryan primary next week, nursing a personal grudge against a perceived rival who happens to be a leader of Trump's own party. Looks like it will be one more week Trump can't turn his attacks from the GOP.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

@Crazy Joe - I agree with you. Trump is finished. On the other hand are you advocating for a one party system where there are no checks and balances and we have one party rule? Wherever this has been tried it has never ended well.

I find both political parties to be pandering to the rich as they are nearly one and the same.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

He is also withholding his support in the Paul Ryan primary next week, nursing a personal grudge against a perceived rival who happens to be a leader of Trump's own party. Looks like it will be one more week Trump can't turn his attacks from the GOP.

I don't blame him, everyone is waffling, either they want to win and do their best or they just cut their losses, but don't sit in the middle! Also, I would focus more on Hillary and her lies which are slowly closing in on her.

-20 ( +2 / -22 )

"Obama asked during a White House news conference. “What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?” No prominent Republican lawmaker responded to Obama’s challenge"

What can they respond with? We wanted sensible talk about Jesus and firearms but our members preferred trash-talk, knob-jokes and insults?

12 ( +14 / -2 )

@Tokyo-Engr... I respectfully disagree with you regarding Trump. You are correct, CJ didn't think through his comment and that's shy I questioned him.

Both parties DO pander to the wealthy though Trump is an outsider in the political arena. For that reason the wealthy who do get their way in forms of campaign support or lobbyists it is Trump w/o those connections from the inside. The same cannot be said of Hillary.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

There is the theory that Trump says all these rediculous things because his run for the White House was to get publicity and he never intended to be president, and now he is doing his best to lose the election. Well, THEN everything he does and says is rational. But only under that framework. Otherwise, Trump is bonkers.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Trump is simply a manifestation of a deeper threat to the GOP: their increased drift towards intellectual and moral bankruptcy, which began with the Tea Party and has culminated in Trump. The party used to have principled stands; one could agree or disagree with these stands, but they were at least coherent, and one could sense that the party at least felt responsibility for good governance and the welfare of the nation. Not anymore.

What the GOP leadership is now gambling on is easy to see: That they'll be able to control Trump through Congress. I'm not so sure; they'd thought the same about Tea Party members, and look how that turned out. Their urge towards party unity is understandable, as is their disappointment at losing Supreme Court picks, but their past prioritization of expediency over principle has led them to this point, and continuing with that strategy is not going to get them out.

A fine pickle they're in, and all of their own doing, but that's life. Does anyone miss the Whig Party?

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Hi Mark

Understand your comment but I think Trump crossed the line. As for him being an outsider - in a way he is.

I still would not support Trump for President (and would not support Clinton either) however one thing that is obvious is that the media and those connected are certainly doing everything possible to ensure he does not win. The cards are certainly stacked against him.

I think there are bigger things at play and when you look at Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama, and now Clinton again a pattern emerges. Although these Presidents and candidates present themselves differently they are more alike than Americans seem to be willing to admit......but that is just an old guy (me) talking.

Whether people agree or disagree on the candidates I think we can all agree this has been one heck of an interesting year!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump doesn't frighten me. He is who he is and I accept that.

What really frightens me that, knowing who and what Trump is, millions of Americans actually believe he is fit to be president. My only theory on that is massive brain damage. People literally can't reason properly or honestly; one can see the evidence in so many of the posts here.

Say what you will about President Obama: If he openly attacked a Gold Star family or mockingly imitated a disable person, his career would have been over at once.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

Trump is 'unfit,' Obama says

WOW! What surprising news.....LOL

Obama's mistake is the establishment GOP are not important at this point. Not sure about the credibility of the reports and tweets, but word is Hillarys having a hard time filling seats while Trumps crowds continue to overflow.

Here's a tip, turn off CNN and put your finger on your wrist. Feel that pulse? CNN will try to minipulte the news and polls dont matter, the pulse of the nation says we are tired of corrupt establishment politicians and their cronyism ways.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for the TPP. Shooting yourselves in the foot over and over and over......

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

But, Hillary is fit to be president??

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

I watched an interview with Khan with Chuck Todd. The man barely knows English. I was curious to have taken a look at the inside of the tiny little constitution book he held out. Perhaps it was not written in English.

Those that support hilary in my opinion support lying, stealing, and corruption as something ok. That is sad.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Nah Bass, the context was that Trump first ad libbed about how much he loves babies and wanted the crying kid to stay, then the next minute says 'get the baby out of here' in the same tone as when he is facing hardcore protests. I guess he was feeling tough after getting his honorary purple heart. The point is he let one baby take over his speech for a couple minutes.

Oh well, on to Green Bay where a small enclave of Trump supporters await. Most of Wisconsin's GOP backed Cruz and I don't see Trump trying to embrace them. Maybe more attacks on crying kids--a good trend?

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Related to the Khan issue - I believe Trump is unfit to be President and his comments regarding Khan were unnecessary and ridiculous.

On the other hand it appears Khan's law agency was in fact dealing with immigration matters into the U.S. with connections to Saudi Arabia, etc. He even went so far as to take his website down yesterday, however the good old Wayback Machine has retained records of his website.

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/2016/08/02/khizr-khan-deletes-law-firm-website-proving-financially-benefits-pay-play-muslim-migration/

You will probably not see that in any mainstream media outlet - Yes Breitbart is very partisan, however it appears that these allegations are factual. The fact that Khan went to the trouble to take down his company's website speaks volumes.

I find both candidates appalling

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Khan is all over the media, interviews all over the place. He says he doesn't want attention. Obviously he has an agenda. His website being taken down yesterday is suspicious. All is not as it seems. Btw, as someone has previously pointed out - Hillary was in favor of the war that cost his sons life, Trump was against it. Not a word of rebuke from him for Hillary, or acknowledgement that his son would still be alive if the decision was up to trump. Something's fishy.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Trump is proud to say he never has apologized in his entire life.

think about that. everyone makes mistakes. and he is proud to say he will never own up to his mistakes.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

you really think that someone who gets upset by a crying baby should become POTUS....

Obama got upset at one of the largest media outlet for criticizing him, interesting point.

Nah Bass, the context was that Trump first ad libbed about how much he loves babies and wanted the crying kid to stay, then the next minute says 'get the baby out of here' in the same tone as when he is facing hardcore protests.

You're making an apples and oranges argument. Also, Trump has 5 kids, so I don't think that argument applies to him.

I guess he was feeling tough after getting his honorary purple heart. The point is he let one baby take over his speech for a couple minutes.

Not a big thing for most people, for Democrats, scratching your nose while reading a teleprompter is a crime.

Oh well, on to Green Bay where a small enclave of Trump supporters await. Most of Wisconsin's GOP backed Cruz and I don't see Trump trying to embrace them. Maybe more attacks on crying kids--a good trend?

Small enclave??? Apparently, you don't know about how the 1980 election unfolded.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Kids these days have too much free time in the summer. Someone should spend a minute teaching their kid to yell 'Get that pathetic adult crybaby out of here' and see how Trump responds when he hears that. Put a quivering bowl of jello on stage for a visual comparison.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

“If you are repeatedly having to say, in very strong terms, that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?”

Great question. I would like a straight answer. Without "waddabout Hillary/Dems/libs/emails/Benghaaaaaazi/Obama/Satan . . ."

Go for it, Trumpsters.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

First of all, all politicians are liars, but most don't go around insulting those that disagree with them. If a lot of voters want to go for a loudmouth narcissistic sexist bully scam artist then that says a lot about the integrity of the people that vote for him.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

FizzBitAUG. 03, 2016 - 09:08AM JST Here's a tip, turn off CNN and put your finger on your wrist. Feel that pulse? CNN will try to minipulte the news and polls dont matter, the pulse of the nation says we are tired of corrupt establishment politicians and their cronyism ways.

Ah, the old "if you don't like the facts just pretend they don't exist and make up something you'd rather be true" approach?

The entire GOP convention was all about people talking about their feelings, avoiding facts that say the opposite of their feelings. It's become so ingrained in the far right that I wonder how true political dialog can function.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Great question. I would like a straight answer. Without "waddabout Hillary/Dems/libs/emails/Benghaaaaaazi/Obama/Satan . . ."

Pertinent topics liberals could care less about, which once again proves the point, liberals are completely content with corruption or having a liar and a crook in the White House.

Kids these days have too much free time in the summer. Someone should spend a minute teaching their kid to yell 'Get that pathetic adult crybaby out of here' and see how Trump responds when he hears that. Put a quivering bowl of jello on stage for a visual comparison.

All his kids turned out alright, so I think that argument is pretty much crushed. I just laugh at how the media is so desperate, they would even make this story an issue.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

Funny thing I find about many Trump supporters is that, just because they find other flaws in Hillary, Trump's racist bigot comments and policies ("there's going to be a beautiful wall") are justified...?

Just because someone else doesn't have clean hands, it doesn't make it "okay" to spread baseless accusations and lies.

Go for it, vote for Trump, and still try to brag about being the best country in the world with equal protection of rights and freedom for all citizens regardless of their heritage or choice of religion.

At best, Trump for President would be a funny social experiment for all the other G19 (minus Murica) nations when they 'trump' America in all aspects incl. education social governance foreign policy etc.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Pertinent topics liberals could care less about, which once again proves the point, liberals are completely content with corruption or having a liar and a crook in the White House.

You didn't answer my question. You just typed out another whaddabout.

If you want to ask a question about how liberals can support a so-called "liar and crook", I'd be happy to answer. But first answer the one Obama put out.

Again, “If you are repeatedly having to say, in very strong terms, that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?”

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Obama and Hillary are panicking. There is already proof-positive that Hillary and the DNC rigged the primary election and people are watching to see how they try to do it in the national election. Trump is a loudmouth but he's world's better than Hillary and the majority of Americans know it.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

He looks fit enough to me. May be a tad bigoted but then so are many voters. Hilary just turns me off. where is Ralph Nader when we need him?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

“There has to come a point at which you say enough.”

True! Hillary for Guantanamo!

"Sen Mark Kirk, who is facing a tough re-election fight in Illinois"

Maybe that's because he sucks?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Time for two or more new parties. The Republican and Democratic parties are both finished.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If you want to ask a question about how liberals can support a so-called "liar and crook", I'd be happy to answer. But first answer the one Obama put out.

I am sick and tired of Washington elites like Hillary, Obama NOT caring about the country, about the debt, middle America, our public schools are a atrocious, racism is out of control. Her questionable foundation that she still reluctantly refuses to provide detailed information about. Blacks are worse off than ever before, politically corruption is at an all time high as we have seen with Hillary and her ilk, people are tired of the PC and we just heard that $400 million paid for this Iran, details still not available, but breaking... These are examples of the shenanigans as to why I think Hillary shouldn't be anywhere near the White House.

Obama got upset at one of the largest media outlet for criticizing him, interesting point.....comparing that with a crying baby...really wow great comparison you truly are a shining example of a Trump supporter..Well done.

Getting teed off is getting teed off, apparently when it's not a big deal and I could say the exact same about Hillary lovers.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-08-02/establishment-republicans-voting-hillary-surge-obama-challenges-leaders-disavow-trum

According to the Socialist-in-Chief, only a corrupt Leftard is fit. Just like himself.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Obama and Hillary made the refugee crisis in Europe. Trump said no to war in the middle east.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Exactly!

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

SugarFreeGummyBears: Funny thing I find about many Trump supporters is that, just because they find other flaws in Hillary, Trump's racist bigot comments and policies are justified...?

We've been over this with them already. They won't touch that question, mostly because they really don't even mention Trump's name. Maybe you'll find a couple of exceptions, but most of them I've asked won't even say they are voting for him. They're trained to respond to Trump criticism and not much else.

None of them supported Trump before he was the nominee, many of them even criticized him and called his supporters "fringe." But once he was the nominee they did what they party needed them to do...they bent over and grabbed their ankles. Now they are posting hit pieces about the parents of a deceased Muslim soldier. But still, you won't find supportive statements about Trump himself.

Trump said something racist? Talk about Hillary. Trump said something stupid? Talk about Hillary. Trump lied about something? Talk about Hillary. The Republican convention? Talk about Hillary. Talk about Hillary. Talk about Hillary. I'm betting 90% of the responses to this post will be them talking about Hillary. They know they are going right into the trap, but they literally have nothing else to say.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Obama is unfit to be in office!

He told whistleblowers to come out and that he would protect them. Obama does Jeffrey Sterling name ring a bell? It should because he proved that the CIA tried to frame Iran to start a war, by planting nuclear bomb blueprints in Iran's country.

Frame Iran? Was there any evidence that Iran was trying to make a nuclear bomb, giving America evidence to go to war? No, and for years the U.N ad bodys said show us the proof.....They couldn't.

Please reply why in comment instead of "thumbs down" but i can't explain why he is wrong :).

So Obama the so called good man, said he backed these people to come out as Jeffrey then did. Obama is not fit to be president if he does stuff like that.

Obama refuses to put troops on the ground, when the lives of 1,000s of people are being lost by mass murders every week. If you don't wan't to start a war under your watch, then don't become President then.

If anybody has a legit reply go for it, as the Iraq war was won, and they all fled to Syria and become the IS. That means America can beat them EASY, and should have helped Assad the second they new they where rebuilding in Syria, like the CIA new men in Iraq jails and from around the world were going there to join the new group.

Obama maybe a half good guy, but he is weak, and a puppet for the CIA. He has blood on his hands for not acting, and for arming the Rebels.

Does anyone that reads this like to reply instead of disliking, because you know i am right?

Obama has caused the biggest refuge / crises since WW2. Backing the criminal rebels has done so.

Did the rebels held hostage 200 rights workers for 2 weeks, and there buddy's the CIA tried for weeks to have them freed? Yes.

Did the Rebels just behead a kid? Yes.

Ok people, is Obama a good guy?

As i said feel free to reply like i know you won't, but dislike because you can't reply to say i am wrong.

Obama is backing criminals that are worse then Assad by 1 million fold. What government do you think the rebels will form if they win?

a gov that holds rights people in jail.

A gov that beheads kids.

If you think Obama is a good guy....Seek help!

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Well it's amusing that McCain would waddle into the debate and denounce Trump, when Trump himself called him an American traitor. The Repubs denouncing Trump just look like bitter ex-girlfriends desperate for attention

1 ( +4 / -3 )

If it boils down to choosing a loudmouth, a liar and crook or a socialist, I'll go for the loudmouth. Trump is much more than a loudmouth, you dont bankrupt numerous companies all the while increasing your personal wealth without being crooked in some way yourself. Add to that his racist , chauvinistic , discriminatory views, its clear he would suck at being POTUS

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Obama has no room to speak. End of story.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Obama says some things I agree with about Trump.

But.....yes I am not sure he has much room to speak as well. The Iran deals were as opaque as one can imagine (so much for the most transparent administration in history). The latest on the cash payment (done in secret) to Iran is disappointing

http://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-sent-cash-to-iran-as-americans-were-freed-1470181874

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I find this nobel peace prize winning president a little ironical since he is presently authorizing bombing Lybia right now, with no clear goal to achieve. If anyone knows what the goal, please let me know!

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

For better or worse, Trump will probably win in November. Most people hate him but a lot do love him, and they'll come out and vote for him. I don't think Hillary can motivate people to come out and vote for her. A lot of democrats are going to stay at home or vote independent (or vote Trump even).

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Obama questioned whether Trump would “observe basic decency” as president

Yeah. He would have common decency. . . . by putting Americans first. Not the back of the line, behind refugees and illegal immigrants. Obama should question the decency of BLM. An armed Black women cradling infant in a standoff w/ Baltimore Police. . . stay classy Democrats. Stay classy.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Tokyo-Engr: Obama says some things I agree with about Trump.

I know what you mean.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Wait a minute. HRC hubby was impeached. She lied to the FBI. It her fault people were killed. While she was secretary of state, just so happens wherever she was involved, bill was there too giving speeches and getting all that dirt money from special interests groups.

Those actions should automatically make her unfit. Does she know what ethical values are? Or did she sleep through that subject begore taking an oath. The only presidential candidate who's already violated "the oath" before ever taking it.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

None of them supported Trump before he was the nominee

Wrong.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Trump’s refutation of Ryan, the nation’s most senior elected Republican, carried particular derision.

But of course, that's how D.T. rides. He makes the most idiotic gaffes even a 5 year old wouldn't, insults just about anyone and has literally run out of ideas. Yet they back him. Vice versa, hmmm... not so much.

And he'll do exactly the same to the American people who are either stupid enough or blindsided by his loudmouth gibberish. Just wait and see what happens when (not if) D.T. loses, it'll be a better fireworks show than Independence Day. I'll keep the beer cold and the snacks ready.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Its evident that Trump himself has given up any hopes of winning.

The lame excuse of 'rigged elections', taking on McCain and Ryan, all point to a plan to counter his humiliation when the American public decides that they don't want a playground bully to run their country.

Cant believe that he is taking on babies now, but then he finally picked somebody his own size.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Outrider you fail to see the whole point of the Khan family, it was to show Trump that many Muslims are also Americans that will fight and give their lives for their country. Many Muslims have sacrificed and are prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice in defence of America. Trump's so-called sacrifice is that he works hard to make himself richer. Then he gives himself an honorary purple heart to make himself look like a hero. LMFAO a Hollywood script writer couldn't make this up, its riveting entertainment. Now just sit back and wait for the next Trump gaffe , it just around the corner.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

The fact is that Trumph is unfit to be my neighbor let alone the President. I would probably punch him (or at least have some heated words) for the things he said of the Khan family if he lived next door to me. I wouldn't want Trumph any where near my children.

Trumph is so full of BS and lies, it isn't even funny. It is just scary. Yes, the people who support him are scary too. Who could believe that pack of lies. Maybe the people who buy his steaks....

Obama has been one of the best Presidents and is certainly the coolest President. I can generally trust what he says.

The only problem with his Presidency, white America kept electing Republicans to the legislature to protest having a black man as a President. The establishment Republicans couldn't defeat Obama, so they make every effort to attack him or block him.

Republican's just have nothing good to say about a rival and resort to open political warfare that hurts the nation. Now they are even suggesting feelings matter as opposed to facts, "American's feels. . . "there are more murders." FBI statistics refute that, unless you believe Republican's cherry picked facts and supposed feelings.

I am just waiting for the Republican party to self-implode. It has already begun. Not that I don't like Republicans, I just don't like the current brand. They are ugly as losers and self-righteous as winners.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Contrary to some comments here, I think President Obama will be remembered as one of the US’s greatest Presidents. Perhaps his greatest achievement was being elected – and those who now so viciously criticize him, I would just suggest they look into their hearts – because while they may deny it, he has endured a lot of hate only due to the color of his skin.

He brought back the US economy from the precipice of a depression, caused by previous Republican administration. He has reduced US troops fighting in areas where we have no vital US interest. He has helped millions of low income families receive health insurance for the first time. And, in contrast to one of the current nominees, he has represented the US in a dignified manner both at home and abroad.

On the other hand, one current candidate says that Japan and SKorea should arm themselves with nuclear weapons, that NATO should be reviewed for relevancy, and that Russia won’t invade Ukraine – then he insults a family that lost a son defending the nation.

How this race could still be so close is beyond me.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

To: Trump lovers. If you think that Trump would be a great president because he is - well - a businessman (a poor one at that) wouldn't you rather have a real successful businessman such as Bill Gates. You have to admit that Bill Gates would be a much better president than Trump. Why vote for a businessman who has screwed over so many investors. Would you put your money in the Trump name? No? Then why vote for him? Wouldn't you rather vote for Bill Gates? And Trump relied on big daddy's money. Bill Gates didn't (that much).

Bill Gates for president. What say you Trump lovers (and Hillary haters)? Bill Gates would be a much better president that Trump.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

and obama says this while he protects a criminal. obviously comey laid out the evidence and refused to recommend indictment of hilary under the statute that requires "intent", he says nothing about the statutes that do not require intent. obviously he was ordered not recommend and was covering his ass.

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/international-news/north_america/2016-u-s-presidential-election/why-comey-would-not-present-the-case-against-hillary-to-a-grand-jury/

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

This is a master stroke and I am surprised that nobody above has mentioned it. Obama is a chess player, and in the long run, the GOP is digging a deeper and deeper hole commensurate with their contempt for America and democratic processes.

Listen to this. The GOP voted for Trump in huge numbers. They have been given numerous chances by OTHER GOP candidates to repudiate the choice of Trump as their candidate. They never did it. Paul Ryan has had to swallow his pride once before to insist that he is going to support Trump, even after Trump double-downed on the racist wall and anti-Islamic rhetoric.

What Obama has now done is force the GOP to TRIPLE down. He frankly explained in answering a question from a reporter why Donald Trump is not good enough for the GOP, not just as president. What GOP stalwart is going to repudiate Trump now that Obama has suggested that they do that? None will do it. That would be admitting that they were wrong and that Obama and Hillary are right.

The trap has been sprung. Trump reigns supreme. Even the Koch brothers will not actively denounce him. Trump can say and do whatever he wants and nobody will stand up to him. The GOP will have to rely on the Dems to end the Trump threat once and for all. With his speech today, Obama won the election for Hillary. The GOP does not like him, but they cannot get rid of him. They won't fund him. They won't vote for him. And they will go down with him because they are too proud to admit they are wrong.

My prediction for the next 3 months is ceaseless tag-teaming on Trump. He will be baited, trolled, exposed, teased, and humiliated by Hillary's team and anyone planning to make a name for themselves, and most of it will be Trump's own doing. And most of the GOP leadership will shrug publicly and laugh privately. The name of the game now is to get Trump to take down as many Senators as he can. He is already supporting the guy running against Paul Ryan, so .... awaaaaay ... we.... gooooo.

This is a GOP debacle. Trump has lost the hispanic vote and women's votes. Pence destroys any chance of LGBT support. He is losing military support. He is losing funding. He is tired, flailing, and alone. If he stays true to form, he will wreck everything, blame someone else, and move on.

Trump’s a privileged class brat who’s been a bully his entire life, making it hard for me to have any sympathy for him at all. But he’s 70, and given the things he’s saying and his repetitive use of a limited set of words, I have to wonder if dementia is setting in. This is worrisome on so many levels.

Reagan, who was 69 when elected, dealt with declining mental abilities, especially in the latter years of his presidency. His right wing politics (dismantling mental health programs, the Iran-Contra affair, US and French troops slaughtered in Beirut, getting humiliated by Saddam Hussein, etc. etc.) and of those in his cabinet and administration enraged me. However, at least when his reasoning skills were declining, the people he surrounded himself with, those who did the actual work and made decisions while he was golfing and riding horses, were highly qualified and understood institutional procedures well enough that they were able to keep the country running.

Who will Trump surround himself with? My sense is they’ll all be yes men, people he doesn’t perceive as threats to his ego, people deemed lesser lights in comparison to the shiny star he sees in the mirror. And if dementia has set in and someone has to run the country for him, do Americans really want Joe the plumber and Judy from Accounting making decisions? Is he really fit for office?

Lawlessness of people wanting to shoot cops,

Hmm, this sounds like the Republicans. They don't want to support education that creates higher paid jobs.

bring the deficit down,

Clinton balanced the budget, but Republicans (Bush) thought it would be a good idea to start a war and created a deficit to do so. The most lauded Republican, Reagan, created trillions of dollars in debt and is the originator of the deficit you are attributing to Democrats. No to big government? Defense contractors are not the government?

1.3 GDP

+1.4%/year GDP annualized percentage change (Q1 2016), +3.3%/year GDP year over year percentage change (Q1 2016)

racism out of control

Are you attributing white racists who back Trumph to Democrats?

Or, does two or three angry black men qualify as a movement worth getting scared about?

Or, are peaceful demonstrations by Black Lives Matters scary?

The racism is the same racism the U.S. has been dealing with for centuries, white on black.

No, get your facts straight. This is more Republican lies. Now, the Republicans dismiss the faulty intelligence and say the world is better off without Hussein and then blame Obama for the mess in the middle east, which Republicans created. That takes some stones to make and even believe those lies.

The trumped up intelligence used to support the Iraq war was provided by Rumsfeld and Cheney through their friend "Curveball" and Rumsfeld's DOD intelligence group. They knew it was a pack of lies an used it to support a war. Even Powell was mad about being duped by these people. Cheney wouldn't let the CIA or anyone else challenge Curveball's information.

I respect Powell and bought their sales pitch too.

The so-called Clinton era intelligence came mostly from UN inspectors, which turned out to be Iraqi bluster to make themselves look strong so Iraq wouldn't fall apart from within.

The sad but inescapable fact is that America is facing a choice of two evils. BOTH the next potential POTUS are appalling options but your ridiculous political system has created this mess and now you - and the rest of the world - will have to live with the results for the next four years. You will absolutely be getting the president you all deserve.

Trump is about as far from a Presidential personality as it's possible to get. It's AMAZING to me and most of the world that so many Americans are so willing so support this utter buffoon. If he becomes your next President, know that the entire world will be laughing at you.

Hillary, although a vastly more experienced politician and with an understanding of global issues that leaves the toupee-topped clown far behind, is almost certainly dishonest and self serving... like 99% of most politicians of course.

So go for it America... let this farce masquerading as an election play itself out and then live with the outcome. You totally deserve it.

Hillary, although a vastly more experienced politician and with an understanding of global issues that leaves the toupee-topped clown far behind, is almost certainly dishonest and self serving... like 99% of most politicians of course.

Bob, we're electing a president here, not a pope. It is NOT a choice of two evils - it is a choice between a woman who would continue the gradualist introduction of liberal policies a la Obama and man with no pretense of an interest in governing, unless his presidency includes unlimited power and a chestful of phony medals like some tinpot dictator. As I wrote above this morning, you may not agree with Hillary's policies, but to put her in the same category as Trump is rediculous - and that is also why so many Republicans are coming around to her (Meg Whitman just pledged support today - can't wait to see how Trump reacts - "Must be 'cause she's a woman" theme likely).

She's also NOT dishonest - quite the opposite: most political fact checkers find her statements far more accurate than other politicians (including Sanders). And this is for a reason: she is smart - really smart, too smart to lie because only fools lie when they know they'll be called on it, which all public people eventually are. (Trump has yet to learn this lesson.) What she is is calculating and guarded, which her long history in the public eye (all of it under incessant GOP attack) makes understandable but not quite endearing.

I like Hillary. I don't agree with all of her policies, but I think she will make a very solid president - she might even surprise us, now that she's on the final platform of her career. She will be stable and reliable, as was Obama. So again, you may disagree with her policies, but by terming her an "evil," you've really eliminated every other possible choice. That's politics.

Many of those saying how unfit Hillary Clinton is are the same ones trying to claim that Trump is fit to be president. By so doing, they have shown their own judgment to be unfit.

How much further down the tubes are the Trump supporters going to take the country?

Trump has just attacked several top GOP leaders up for re-election, including Speaker Paul Ryan. Reports are emanating from the GOP that the party is forming contingency plans in case Trump suddenly drops out. From 2012, the area in which the factory is located fell under ISIS control. Faced with the choice of paying taxes to ISIS or abandoning its factory and local work force, it chose the former, but only for two years - it withdrew in 2014 as ISIS atrocities were clarified.

Serrano, is that all you've got?

So according to Obama millions of people who support Trump are unfit? Only Hillary is healthy?

That's not what he said and you know it. Surely you can do better than that! He said Trump is unfit to be President. Are millions of Trump supporters trying to be President? No.

On the democratic side cheating positioned Clinton. It was a close race if no internal dirty play was involved.

Polls say that Clinton had enough of a lead over Sanders even without the DNC shenanigans. While the race would have been closer had the DNC kept their finger off the scales, Clinton would still have been nominated in all likelihood.

Obama was unfit and we had to deal with him for almost 8 years. So the anointed one can dictate who can or who should be president. This guy was one of the worst and he thinks he can decide for the people?

Obama didn't just now decide for me that Trump is unfit to be the leader of a sovereign nation. TRUMP decided that for me months ago. Obama's just stating what the majority of intelligent people have already determined.

Trump's actions are so outrageous that I STILL believe he's actually a Democratic mole inserted into the Republican party in order to sabotage them. On his latest "sacrifice..."

Mr Trump was handed a Purple Heart - a medal given to wounded members of the US military - at a campaign rally in Virginia. "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart," Mr Trump said. "This was much easier." The comments have drawn criticism from veterans' groups online.

This person thinks he deserves to be handed something else he hasn't earned - the presidency.

@mukashiyokatta - Trump is unfit for office - not because he is a businessman - because he lacks the self control to be the President of the U.S. Career politicians have put the U.S. (and Japan) into dire straits financially. I would like to see someone with some real business experience get into office.

@Fadamor - I do not always agree with your posts, however the last 2 you made on this thready strike a chord with me. I also (as crazy as it sounds) think there is a shred of possibility that Trump may have been put in place to secure a Clinton presidency. I actually heard Trump speak in person (years ago) and was listening within a group when he was in conversation with a group of businessmen in New Jersey. I was not a participant in the conversation however it was obvious Trump is not a stupid man. He is however unfit for the Presidency.

There is plenty of ammunition to demonstrate Trump is an unfit candidate. People on this website (and in other places) do not need to stoop down to calling him or his supporters "stupid", "racist", etc.

As a registered independent I will probably be casting a ballot for one of the other candidates. I just cannot stomach either one of the 2 "mainstream" candidates.

Seems the D.T. train is now completely derailing... long predicted, finally happening. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person!

I'm not much of a polls man myself, but it seems some Trump fans love the polls. So here are the latest developments...

It's not done yet. This hate train isn't derailed until fools like Paul Ryan and Chris Christie come out and openly and completely reject Trump as the GOP candidate. GOP leadership still has yet to take one for Team America and write off this general election, which is what it's going to take if they value their careers or the future of the party.

The GOP is, as was suggested recently at ABC News, facing an existential crisis, and one just has to ask, what the hell were Paul Ryan and other prominent GOP leaders thinking when they believed they could ride the tiger that is Donald "I Don't Know When to Shut Up" Trump?

Trump supporters are quick to blame mass social media or Clinton maneuvering or inter-party disloyalty for Trump's meteoric plunge, but at he end of the day, when some of these supporters are staring with a wild-eyed desperation at their news feeds trying to figure out where it all went wrong, the answer is clear: Trump did this to entirely to himself by being an immature, grossly unprepared douchebag throughout the entirety of this campaign.

I too have long harbored a half-serious suspicion that Trump's candidacy is a ruse designed specifically to expose the ugly underbelly of the GOP to the light of average Americans and give it an opportunity to die, albeit not so gracefully. It would be something of legend it that were actually true. But then again, no, I think this is Trump, pure and unfiltered. This is who he is.

LFRagain:

" The GOP is, as was suggested recently at ABC News, facing an existential crisis, "

That is quite correct. The current GOP establishment had found its way as an eternal loser and comfortable pet pro-forma opponent of the DNC and their media sycophants.

Trump is the first candidate in a very long time who actually wants to upset this comfortable pork scheme. So it is actually now Trump not only against the DNC and their mainsteam media, but also his own party establisment and big capital --- basically, this is a revolt against the corrupt globalist establishment.

What is truly astounding is how many ordinary people are still buying into the globalist talking points fed to them by the corrupt mainstream media, presenting Clinton as the champion of the people and Trump as evil incarnate. Amazing!

It's astounding that you or any other Trump supporter still believe that A) Trump is really in this race for such a noble cause, or 2) such a noble intent excuses all the other anxious baggage that comes with Trump. He's racist. Period. He's emotionally immature. Period. He's glaringly uneducated on matters that are pertinent to the job. Period.

No matter how much he wants to allegedly "change" the system, his abundant and frankly terrifying shortcomings extinguish any benefits his "change" might bring. Essentially, his change would involve burning the house to the ground.

I give him the rest of the month before he turns his infantile venom on Mike Pence. Mark my words.

Laguna:

" About 95% of Americans have absolutely no idea what Sharia is "

I have no problem believing that, alas.

"

much less the difference between it and Sharia law - "

Do explain the difference. Ignorant me was thinking Shariah = Shariah law.

" but that doesn't prevent many of them from forming an opinion nonetheless. (Hint: opinion not favorable.) "

If they learned about its content, their opinion would be even less favourable. I would strongly hope they do. A good start would be to read the various articles written by Khisi Khan who specialized in Shariah law while studying in Saudi Arabia.

"Serrano, is that all you've got?"

No, that's not all I've got, but apparently you refuse to acknowledge the fact that Hillary was a director of and recieved over $100,000 from Lafarge, which paid taxes to operate their cement plant in Syria to ISIS, and bought ISIS oil for years.

And you can look foward to the next batch of Hillary-damning Wikileaks emails coming soon, lol

But are the low-information voters going to read them?

The mainstream press with their DNC affiliation is certainly not.

That's pretty much word for word what Laguna wrote, so accusations of refusal to acknowledge facts seem just a bit odd. So where's the rest of what you've got?

And you can look foward to the next batch of Hillary-damning Wikileaks emails coming soon, lol

Yes, hilarious. Ha. Ha. Ha. Well, you should hope they dig up something as any damage will have to be self-inflicted. Trump's too busy wrecking his own campaign to cause Hillary Clinton much trouble.

Interesting. By your reasoning, I worked for General Electric 24 years ago (true statement), therefore I'm complicit in any mistake GE conducts today? The logic escapes me... unless, of course, you're grasping for ANY straw in an attempt to discredit me. In baseball terms, this would classify as a colossal "whiff".

Trump's overwhelming inadequacy for the job of President is the 800 pound gorilla in the room; everyone knows its there, but no one wants to do anything about it.

As an American, I know there will come a time when we can no longer ignore the 800 pound gorilla, and that moment will be on election day. Until then, I just hope that the monster doesn't do too much damage.

But are the low-information voters going to read them? The mainstream press with their DNC affiliation is certainly not.

You keep using this word' "mainstream," as if it were something negative and damning. It's not.

___.main·stream -- ˈmānˌstrēm/.

noun: mainstream.

1) the ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional; the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts.

Ex.: "companies that are bringing computers to the mainstream of American life" ___.

Mainstream media serves mainstream America, i.e., the dominant portion of the population, the largest group, the majority.

Mainstream America doesn't buy into the highly convoluted B.S. that invariably comes from fringe news sources and highly politicized Wikileaks releases because they are just that: B.S. and highly politicized.

Mainstream America wants common sense to prevail, not radical, white-knuckled, wild-eyed proclamations from terrified, insecure children warped by wholly effed-up interpretations of Christian dogma. The GOP played this hand of fear mongering for the better part of 5 election cycles, appealing to the absolute **lowest common denominator in an effort to win at all costs, and ultimately lost. Now it's a hollow shell of its former self some 30 years ago with an immature man-child as its standard bearer.

Mainstream America doesn't want any part of the nuthouse you guys have carefully nurtured for yourselves.

The USA needs a president who's willing to lead by sacrificing something dear to himself. That person is Libertarian Gary Johnson. I understand that he said he'd give up pot if elected. THAT is some sacrifice. Gary will prove his fitness!

Obama calling Trump unfit, now there is the pot calling the kettle black.

It seems the only people deemed fit are lifetime politicians who have never earned a dime on their own, never worked in a factory or office, never run a shop or store, never signed someone else's paychecks. Obama is the last person who can criticize Trump for being "unfit.". Obama has never worked at a real job, never worn a military uniform, never practiced law in a courtroom. The thing about professors of law, economics, or accounting is that these people usually become teachers because they are unfit to practice these profession in the real world.

is Hillary "fit" to be president? By the common definition, she certainly is. She has spent the past more than two decades telling the people what they want to hear (which is seldom the truth), spending other people's money (which is why people become politicians). Hillary was one of the architects of the Iraq war, more so that Bush. Listen to her speeches on the senate floor as she tried to convince other senators to vote in support of giving Bush a mandate to invade Iraq. The Iraq war was Bill and Hillary's war more than it was Bush's. But when Bush was proved wrong on WMD (which was based on the intelligence given to him by Clinton), Bush got all of the blame, and the Clintons walked away unscathed. But Bush was a moron, truly "unfit" to be the people's president, but absolutely fit to be a party puppet.

The GOP and democrat party hate Trump not because he is fit or unfit, but because he is not one of them. And this hate is not limited to America, the entrenched political elite around the world also see Trump as an outsider, not one of the "elite." They are afraid that if he wins the US election, people like him will win in their countries as well.

I think that after decades of party politics, puppet presidents, and manipulation of the people by both parties, we need to get away from this nonsense. It is possible that Trump could do more harm than good, but that would be par for the course for the last 16 years.

It is possible that Trump could do more harm than good, but that would be par for the course for the last 16 years.

The last 16 years have not involved stoking white supremacy, religious discrimination, and reintroducing institutionalized racism. Nor have they involved encouraging the proliferation of nuclear weapons, abandoning tried and true allies in favor of political, economic, and ideological rivals.

The vitriol Trump spews and the lies and rhetoric he spreads go way beyond par for the past 16 years. He most certainly would do more harm than good.
