What have we become! The fed now forces states to conduct the states own affairs. The founding fathers would revolt just as they did over 240 years ago.

What have we become!

A country that no longer tolerates gay bashing?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

What does gay bashing have to do with a man using the ladies room?

I'm not sure that pointing out that there is no problem to address will do anything. After all, voter fraud doesn't exist to any extent, abortions are already a safe procedure, etc. The GOP is able to get around this with pure fear mongering and it works extremely well in the bubble.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Stranger, there will be two unbreakable constants on this thread: 1) Republican supporters won't be able to produce any data whatsoever showing this is any kind of problem and 2) Republicans will ignore #1, replacing it with fear and horror stories that exist exclusively in their imaginations.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Wrong Stranger, that is exactly what they are asking for. If I, as a male, identify as a female, I would be allowed to use the women's bathroom.

Now in university we had coed dorms with coed bathrooms but you had to choose to be there. There were plenty of gender specific floors and bathrooms.

Now it seems that gender is something you can change and, even if you aren't physically changed, can use whatever bathroom you want. That's bizarre.

Quoted for truth.

Nope. It's a matter of using the bathroom for the gender which one identifies. I know many people have a major fear of science, but it's accepted medical fact that some people are born in one body, while their mind is another.

I saw a picture of a transgender man the other day, who had a pretty serious beard. Are you telling me that women should be comfortable with him in the bathroom simply because he was born with a vagina? Note that he is sexually attracted to women, so he may be trying to look at their private bits when he has the chance.

Bunch of dinosaurs who are living in the past here.

It is bizarre. But everyone so high (intoxicated) on political correctness, they would want you to believe its bizarre and that you're indeed a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

What would Hillary say about this. She wants to make america "whole again." So its simple: Men use the Men's room:females use the lady's room. Problem solved.

We all know what Trump would say . . . but then you'd be labeled as a "racist" for agreeing.

everyone so high (intoxicated) on political correctness

It has nothing to do with political correctness, and everything to do with treating people like human beings instead of animals.

I'm about as politically incorrect as anyone (in my private life). And yet, I still believe in treating people like humans. There is a major difference. These claims of 'everyone is so hung up on PC' that people are spouting these days are just attempts at justification of bigotry, discrimination, and hatred.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

It's not what you identify with, it is what you are. Nowhere in nature does a transgender exist. Nowhere in humans can a 1.8M tall person identify with being 2.8m tall. Just as the silly woman with blond hair and fair skin become a black woman.

Being a Biker and a Hiker it is not uncommon to see ladies use the gents, even for no.1 while standing. Not reveiling how they do it ....

As a central European nudity, shared facilities are not uncommon. At one place I trained us Guys had to chase the ladies to their side of the shower and close the separating Curtain.

Personally think Unisex toilets would reduce the queue to the Ladies Room, but than I go there to relieve myself and not to check out the other users.

Doesn't the US have wheelchair access toilets yet? Surely those are the solution to this non-issue?

If you were in a wheelchair, waiting to use the bathroom, and a perfectly abled person was using it, would you not be angry? Especially since I believe (though am not entirely sure) that some wheelchair people have a harder time controlling bodily functions, and may be in more of a rush to get to the bathroom.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Yes, of course, but it seems an easy solution to this problem.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

It would be good for a temporary solution.

A long term solution would be to add gender-neutral bathrooms.

What does gay bashing have to do with a man using the ladies room?

Screaming "your sort aren't welcome here!" isn't bashing? Just good ole NC banter?

@MarkG and Wc626:

If a (pre-op) man - who identifies as and dresses like a woman, and is sexually attracted to men - uses the gents' toilet, how comfortable will you be when she hitches up her little black number at the urinals?

Defenders of the law have argued that it is needed to safeguard people’s privacy and protect them being molested in bathrooms.

Hilarious!

After all, voter fraud doesn't exist to any extent, abortions are already a safe procedure, etc. The GOP is able to get around this with pure fear mongering and it works extremely well in the bubble.

BS! If voter fraud didn't exist, then the liberals wouldn't object at all to issuing voter ID to all American citizens. Denouncing that and defying that clearly confirms what people have been thinking all along that in issuing IDs, they wouldn't be able to allow illegal immigrants to vote in ANY elections, including the general presidential election.

Now it seems that gender is something you can change and, even if you aren't physically changed, can use whatever bathroom you want. That's bizarre.

As a father of two daughters, I could care less if a transgender uses the woman's restroom, I just have a beef with a guy making up any stupid excuse to use the woman's restroom and I shouldn't to worry about my kids going in and some perv walks in and starts stalking or trying to take pictures or any lewd act, so that means I have to wait outside the door?? Bizarre is a complete understatement.

Will a trans now be in the female part of athletic competitions?

Anything goes these days it seems. I suppose I can just say one day that I feel like a woman and the next day a man and have the option of any bathroom.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I think male trans (woman>man) will have no problem using OUR toilets. You're welcome lads.

Different story for female trans though. Am sure the legit ones would be ok, thing is a substantial number of us blokes have urinating in a ladies restrooms in their top 10 fantasies. So the question should be how to prevent pervs from entering women's restrooms, same question we have had for centuries haha. In other words trans should be able to go wherever they feel most comfortable.

Ignoring the absolute failure in logic of your comment, it doesn't change the fact that voter fraud is not an issue is the US. Not that that stops the Republicans from trying to pretend it is one.

Of course it is and all the more reason as to why liberals are afraid of Trump, if he pushes for it and hopefully it goes through congress to make it mandatory just like with a drivers license, we can put this aside. If Dems are so confident that there is NO voter fraud, then it shouldn't be a problem, regardless how they want to verbally spin it, NO one buys it or believes it.

Then the issue should be with people pretending to be transgendered when they are not, and/or stalking/taking pictures in the bathroom. These issues should be dealt with severely. Transgendered people should not be punished when they have not done anything wrong.

No, they shouldn't, but I don't want the law to be simple that ANY guy can make an excuse to use the woman's restroom.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

If Dems are so confident that there is NO voter fraud, then it shouldn't be a problem

It would be nice if there wasn't a problem. But there is. Republicans are pushing for stronger ID checks claiming its to prevent voter fraud, when we all know the real goal is to suppress the votes of democrats who can't get the required ID. That's the real voter fraud - the republicans attempt to prevent democrats from voting.

Pretty much.

Pretty much.

If by 'pretty much' you mean 'not at all', I agree.

You don't need an ID to vote in the US? What? How do they stop tourists turning up to vote? Or people voting multiple times?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

A primary school in England had a transgender awareness day recently........a primary school! Why is this issue being pushed so much? What percentage of the population is transgender that it warrants being an issue for everyone, even our primary school kids?

I was too busy thinking about Lego at that age to even care if you're gender confused and I still don't.

This potty fixation says volumes about where the minds of Republicans are focused. Pretty sick and perverted.

You don't need an ID to vote in the US? What? How do they stop tourists turning up to vote? Or people voting multiple times?

That was my whole point, but according to Democrats, it's ok....under the table. They believe if they say differently, you the American voter will believe it...sooner or later.

A primary school in England had a transgender awareness day recently........a primary school!

The way it's going, they'll start teaching children about sex education in day care. It's way too much.

Why is this issue being pushed so much? What percentage of the population is transgender that it warrants being an issue for everyone, even our primary school kids?

Canadians are already starting to push back on this because they have already had too many problems with this.

Same here, miss the good old days.

I think the trans should be allowed to use the toliet in the mens, or their own facility. If they insist on using the ladies, then they must get permission from that facility.

Still no evidence presented by the right showing this has ever been a problem

Still no evidence presented by the right showing this has ever been a problem

No evidence need be submitted. If you have a penis, dress like a man & use a men's restroom when ur in public. In the privacy of ur own home, dress however you want.

What if a tranny was at a job interview dressed in female business attire, and used the lady's room? . . . but other females inside were aware & disgusted about the tranny?

Now what? Is the tranny going to file a civil suit for not being hired on grounds for "discrimination?" It's nonsense.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Still no evidence presented by the right showing this has ever been a problem.

With as many pedophiles and rapists that are out there in the world, you have to be a complete lunatic thinking that these people wouldn't jump on the opportunity to take advantage of this kind of law. It already happened in progressive liberally open Canada and now the Canadians are overwhelmingly saying NO now!
