"Meanwhile, intensifying fighting around Mariupol, on the Avoz Sea, heightened concerns the pro-Russian rebels might be preparing a new offensive after storming the key town of Debaltseve in defiance of a week-old ceasefire."

You can be sure that this new offensive will happen at some point. Does anyone think the Russians would put a halt to it? Putin will just say he can't control the rebel's actions.

“We are furious that Europe let this happen,” he told AFP. “Thousands of people have been killed and Europe hasn’t stopped the war.”

They should be furious that Putin and the Russians enabled the troublemakers to wage war and take over Ukranian territory.

Senator John McCain just said he's ashamed of America, the president, and himself for letting this happen.

In my imagination, he then launched into a tap dance rendition of a medley of tunes from The Sound of Music.

Aides had to usher him away before he broke something.

Europe hasn’t stopped the war

Ironic, considering the fact that Europe's support of the overthrow of a democratically elected government started the war.

There's no reason not to use 3rd-party UN peacekeepers. Can't trust both sides to follow the ceasefire.

What about the Chinese? Aren't they ashamed for not doing twiddly about the situation?

Burning Bush Should've left well enough alone. Had Maiden never happened, Ukraine would be due for regular elections right about now.

Most funny thing. And Crimea and Donbass would be inside Ukraine. Nobody was killed in civil war. Homes are not destroyed...

By the way in times of bad Yanukovich the average salary was about 400 Euro .

Today less than 100 dollars.

This is Europe. Or may be Africa ??

@Olegek You forget that for the survival of the US the extention of NATO into the the Ukraine is important... or so Mr Peace Nobelprize Winner has decided. And who is this Putin anyway... a Russian! A former boss of the russian secret service. We all know that these russians always lie, right? Only the CIA tells us the truth:

"West sounds warnings over Ukraine truce as new flashpoint ignites"

Aaah, yes... Great information. Who would have thought that in a war each side would tell the rest of the world that the others are the crooks!

That's why don't believe propaganda from either side - one side calls the other fascists; the other side calls them communists - neither side is as bad as the other thinks - it's just propaganda to propagate the hate and inflame the will to fight. Happens everytime in war.
