    "The motive...should be interesting."

    Jeff, one of the four female victims was allegedly his former girlfriend; another victim was the young woman's grandmother, who worked at Macy's cosmetics counter.

    @D. Harmadan: Not nonsensical at all; to the contrary, 'NA' is standard nomenclature for an normally-aspirated engine which lacks a turbocharger. The Move Canbus does not appear to be a performance-oriented model, and Daihatsu marketing are aiming at a broader market segment.

    "I wonder if she was feeding him through the window..."

    The park worker was in fact feeding the bears by throwing food from the car, as is standard practice at Gunma Safari Park. The bear, a 5-year old male weighing 160 kilograms, may have smelled the food inside the car (TV news segment showed a partially-eaten cucumber on the front seat). The victim Saito reportedly had recently transferred from another animal area and was possibly unfamiliar with the Asian black bears...

    The suspect enjoyed fishing and spent a lot of his free time near the river. The icepick in question was a so-called "fish pick" and is used by fisherman to quickly dispatch dying fish, and to chop up frozen bait.

    The wreckage of the vehicle was resting on its side, and the side facing upward had received a large impact. The force of the collision tore the fuel tank off the bike -- I suspect the car was turning onto the main road from a smaller side road; not coming from the opposite direction as reported. Highway 50 is dead straight along there, and it is highly possible the motorcycle was traveling too fast (i.e. over the speed limit).

    That was NOT a glider; that was a sailplane (now completely destroyed). The Japanese language is not able to differentiate, (similarly as between 'canoe' and 'kayak'). More to the point, a sailplane is designed to gain altitude, while a glider is able only to descend. dɪˈsɛnd/ verb verb: descend; 3rd person present: descends; past tense: descended; past participle: descended; gerund or present participle: descending

    1. move or fall downwards. "the aircraft began to descend" synonyms: go down, come down;
