The number of cybercrimes confirmed by police across Japan increased to a record 8,324, up 2.8% from the year before, while the number of cybercrime inquiries hit an all-time high of 131,518, up 2.7% from the previous year.

And how many are really investigated by the police and prosecuted ? That is what I want to know.....

why did they become involved with the Kagoikes?

because they want to promote the right-wing nationalism propaganda among the children , and this is exactly Abe's agenda, when will people wake-up and see they elected someone for fixing the economy and they only get , conspiracy bills, military expansion, tracking MyNumber, constitution attack and the alike...

Between bicycles speeding-up and being on the wrong side of the sidewalk, the "genius" street light system allowing cars and truck to cross over pedestrians who are crossing the street at red lights, virtual sidewalks, usually only a paint line on the road, I am surprised there is no more accident.

TEPCO should be shut-down and their assets sold to reimburse TAX PAYERS and use also to pay a house to people who had to flee because of TEPCO's greed and incompetence.

If TEPCO is shut down who should clean up the mess at Fukushima?

The nuclear village consortium should clean their own mess and not the TAX PAYER, btw as it looks, TEPCO is not cleaning up anything, at most rebuilding a building or 2, do a press release or 2 on a camera and robot that cannot do anything, and pumping cash pretending they are, there is no control on the progress of the cleaning anyway...

If TEPCO is shut down who should supply, transmit, and distribute power and also maintain and service the distribution equipment for the most populous region of Japan?

It is only because of TEPCO monopoly on distribution, open the market and there will be players willing to take the business out of TEPCO, also without TEPCO, the solar providers will have more opportunities to access the grid, at least it won't be worse.

Being seen with Hollande is not a positive. He has done an awful job in France over the term of his Presidency.

Same with ABE, they are sharing quite a lot actually... in the failure department, but to choose between a failure and another one, I will ever prefer the one that is not spreading right wing nationalism and hate of the others...

be ready for the next round then, "Hurry-up and die" and get your relative a discount on their taxes...., if they think the elderly are responsible and a problem, then put an age limit on driving license, but no... this must be too common sense so let's rather offer a discount on their funerals...

The fact that this makes the news in a country of 126 million people reminds us all how safe a country we have the privilege of living in.

"Man beats stranger to death in order to get arrested"

A country so safe that anybody can be beaten to death so one can get arrested, most of the crimes are either not reported or dismissed by the police so please can we stop with this "fairytale" of Japan being safe, it is safe only until you step on some weirdos and japan has a lot of them...

Farmers have 3 times more voting power, the government wants to leave it out to stay in power

Yes, Japan has this peculiar democracy based on square meters and geo-location and not based on citizen voting.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled it illegal for police to collect global positioning data without a warrant during an investigation of a man over theft cases in western Japan, raising questions about what policing methods are appropriate.

It is ruled "illegal" by the supreme court but only raised questions ? Police should abide the laws and stop the illegal practices, there is no need to question anything.

They can't fix a camera, hold compensations (only 6% paid so far) and they want to make us believe they can retrieve a melted core...a task never done before ? When will TEPCO stop lie and stop divert public money for dead remote controlled toy project with Toshiba ? As a tax payer, I want the govt to be out of this company and let TEPCO alone pays for their running operation.

Poor kids, facing that situation, and later on thyroid cancers, so some fat cats can cash more money...

“Those thyroid cases have been found because we conducted the survey, not because of the radiation,”

The typical deniers's attitude here, there is certainly no connection between a survey and the determination of the factor responsible of those Thyroid cancers ... we can just notice that it does not stop him to claim the survey is the reason.

Thyroid cancer is among the most curable cancers, though some patients who have their thyroid removed need lifelong medication and regular checks.

So we should accept our children to develop some so the nuclear industry can economically develop ?

Ohtsuru did acknowledge there are still unknowns about the radiation impact on human health, citing the need for a long-term survey.

That is awesome, well then his bias toward the nuclear lobby is the only thing we can be sure about, maybe he should read studies on chernobyl if that doctor feels there are still "unknown" on what he is talking about. There is the Linear no-threshold model which is, obviously, challenged only by the nuclear village and the people in their payroll because they want to keep the money flowing...

“The ministry expects all contractors involved in decontamination to comply with the law,” Sorry but in Japan it is the law that does comply with all those black contractors, not the other way around, a quick check at the crime section in JT is speaking volume about corporate crime (or rather the absence of it).

According to the ruling, around 10 people including Yoshida gathered as a flash mob at the walkway over Ebina Station in February last year and stood still for several minutes while holding a board which said “we do not tolerate (Prime Minister Shinzo) Abe’s politics.”

The following month, the city banned Yoshida from engaging in the practice known as a mannequin flash mob.

Is it what became Japan under Abe ? You can't stand still holding a board to say that you do not like your PM without being banned ? What is next ...being jailed ?

Successive governments have said Tokyo has the right to attack enemy bases overseas when the enemy’s intention to attack Japan is evident, the threat is imminent and there are no other defense options.

Just in that case it sounds pure propaganda and a ploy to armed the country which is Abe's plan from the beginning btw ! NK missile can badly leave the ground, there is zero evidence the country has the atomic bomb actually and there are other defense options to shutdown any incoming missile, the first strike is not necessary unless Japan does want to declare a war, kill people and launch a surprise attack...
