Police in Japan are pretty good at catching rapists, murderers so lets hope they find this scumbag quickly.

sure, what a great idea to show a castleless Nagoya to the hordes of visitors coming for the Olympics

Because for some people Tokyo = Japan. smh

    Minority Report?

For example, if an officer is looking to bust some pickpockets, they simply type the crime and the time of day into the system and a map of the area will feature color-coded sectors.

    Hah, this smells like BS.

In Japan English is not seen as a necessity but more as a luxury. People are not willing to pay money for something they don't need every day. And if AEON is promoting English for the Olympics they ought to fire their marketing manager who obviously has no clue.

Don't blame kids for being kids. Make the streets safer.

Make parents watch/raise their kids better. Some parents here in Japan just let the kid walk 20 meter in front or behind them, while they use their smartphone, I see it almost every day.

Earlier this week, Google vowed to step up its efforts to block ads on “hateful, offensive and derogatory” videos.

Why not ban these videos in the first place, those seem more appropriate for Liveleak.

Hasegawa received 440,000 yen in revenue from YouTube after his went viral,

Let's hope there won't be any copycats. Revenue from a crime-video should be forbidden.

Would love to know how much the costs where involved in this procedure. Currently standard IVF is a whopping +300000 yen of which you can get only a little back from the insurance. For a country that wants to increase the birthrate they should make this procedure either very cheap or FREE.

Id even be willing to pay for it, IF the procedure works. Which in turn would make clinics work harder for a successful pregnancy.

Local police said he suffered severe chest injuries.

Not sure if a helmet would've helped.....

It's a well-known fact that a lot of illness, long term and short, is brought on by stress and poor lifestyle. If any of the above mentioned can help improve a person's life, and therefore their health, who are we to say it's nonsense?

The human mind is very powerful. If someone believes it will help, there's a 50/50 chance it will get better.

    Placebo effect?

Hmmm 2019 people out of 127.3 million means the result has to be taken with a grain of salt. I would like to see a breakdown of who they interviewed and where these people were living? In a big city? Or in the sticks. is the percentage of suicide rate higher in the city? What kind of employment they have. Have an ill family member to take of? Or even kids? Single mothers, fathers? These are all factors that way very heavy on the mental stability of a person.

You can try to prevent suicide all you want but if person sees no other option, it's a lost battle. Its obvious that Japan needs better MENTAL healthcare.

“Although artificial skin today is of high quality, it is still not as functional as human skin,” Hiroto Ikeda, associate professor in emergency medicine at Teikyo University, said.

I always thought the skin would come from the victims own body? butt-cheeks and feet? I could be wrong. It doesn't sound easy to donate skin like we do blood. It sounds very painful actually but not sure about the process.

Hafu is just a word that may or may not be derogatory depending on who says it,

I think this is the problem. Still, I'm trying to understand why many foreigners are so against the word haafu. I never saw it as a derogatory form. Im also half, so when I told people they usually respond in a WOW way than an EWW way. But again, not Japanese half, so perhaps its only something with Japanese half?

82, and still having duties. Why dont they jsut leave her alone and let her just relax her final years.
