Pretty crude and cruel, if the allegations of shouting 'Jump!' are true. Don't know anything about German law, but I somehow doubt anyone will be charged with an offense. Sad.

Tragic event, to be sure. But this is the kind of thing that happens when policymakers make critical policies that directly affect local communities -- with zero consultation with those communities. This is where the populist politicians make their move.

Germans have never been known for their sense of humour I guess.

(PS that's my own feeble attempt at humour. Tragic situation).

Anyone who would goad another human being to end their life is so barbaric and cruel that their opinion isn't worth hearing and their support doesn't matter. Learn to act like a human being, and then the rest of us humans will listen to your voice.

"Anyone who would goad another human being to end their life..."

You don't understand the herd mentality phenomenon. None would have been doing that as single individuals, apart from sociopaths, who are extremely rare in any given population.

Herd mentality is universal, although the Germans have a particularly bad track record in that regard. That's why Germany today needs better quality policymakers than the ones they have now.

You don't understand the herd mentality phenomenon

Deindividuation is the term I've heard used to describe this.

the Germans have a particularly bad track record in that regard.

Did the article mention the ethnicity of the onlookers?

What was also upsetting to read is people took photos of the event. No doubt many pictures and even videos of this tragedy will show up on various social media. Instead of an individual being physically with a group and influenced by that 'herd's' mentality, it'll be an individual alone together with a virtual 'herd'.

Fair enough pukey, probably a bad judgement call on my part.

Everything these immigrants receive is off the back of my taxes, so forgive me when I say that one less is welcome news to me. If you want them, you pay for them, you house them but do not speak for me and do not use my money for their benefit.

If they find out who was shouting jump (I'm sure social media could provide the evidence, given what moron's post these days), they should be charged with something, perhaps even assault resulting in death, or something like that. I'm sorry, but it is outright criminal that people would do such a thing.
