Donald Trump has declared “we’re being foolish, we’re kidding ourselves” if law enforcement doesn’t keep close surveillance on mosques, and he expressed support for the idea of a database for tracking Muslims in the United States. Another GOP contender, Ben Carson, said mosques, schools, supermarkets, car repair shops and “any place where radicalization is going on” should be monitored.

Again the GOP Shia-Tea has shown its prejudice and ignorance. Neither Rump or Carson has any authority or power except to taunt bigots to reckless action.

As stated previously, these two Republicans are simply shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. Worst they are providing the roadmap for their ignorant band of fascists to assault and threaten innocent people. These two irresponsible losers are promoting a lawless vigilantism to act independently and with lethal force.

At some point these calculated threats are simply pouring gas on the fire of their racist followers. At some point they must be charged for inciting illegal and lethal action against innocent American citizens. This is no longer "freedom of speech". Rump the Great and Carson are promoting hate and violence and the Republican Party is their enabler.

There could be no better recruitment of radical extremists than these two bigots. But this is what the GOP Shia-Tea would have as the standard of behavior for their fans and ordinary citizens.

Rump should be arrested after Atlanta, Carson should be more intelligent in his hate speech, but neither have the right to threaten innocent Americans in their schools, homes, work or places of worship.

But, again, this is what their calls for prejudice and violence in the ears of their fans amounts to. Americans should be deeply ashamed or these bigots not attempting to send them to the Oval Office.

The neo nazi Democratic Party continues to erode freedoms just as in 1930's Germany. Books may be next. Trump is a democrat convert. Carson is a good man, a bit overly tied up in his faith. American Muslims have nothing to fear if they left their expectations at their homeland. Sharia is not welcome in USA, anywhere. Cartoons, comedy, and entertainment need not exclude Islam from anything form of entertainment just as any other religion is targeted.

We Americans need not coddle and American Muslims need an open mind or go back home where you will be happy.

We read the confirmation of the intellectual capability of the GOP Shia-Tea and hear the calls for racism as they ripple through the taunts of Republicans.

In the end, have they no shame?

Or are these few deranged bigots seeking validation for their hate?

This then is the real danger of Rump and Carson's play to the political base of racism.

Hopefully these are few but that isn't the real danger. Incensed by the racism of Rump and Carson, these few have fired on mosques in The States and one famously called for the slaughter of innocents in a utube rant that urged random slaughter.

These aren't Americans.

These are the bigots who hide behind the Bill of Rights in their persecution of innocent Americans. How different this from ISIS? Zero degrees of separation and the Republican Party thinks this is their pathway to power?

How shameful, how un-American. But, after AWOL Bush's war based on lies? There's no bottom to the rhetoric of hate. ISIS has proved that. Will the GOP Shia-Tea provide the next example? Perhaps they already have.

“It’s dangerous because we’ve been down this road before and ugly rhetoric matched with political power can really harm actual people, real lives.”

It's sickening that US citizens can use 'ugly rhetoric', and as harmful as it is and can be ugly rhetoric is a reality of free speech that most people in any country are willing to accept, albeit begrudgingly. However, when candidates for the US presidency use hate speech, which I know is also probably protected by the laws, the harm is magnified. Many of these candidates are saying the US is a divided country that needs to be unified, but their hate speech is dividing the country even further.

The US needs to cover up the Statue of Liberty. It's sad to see US extremists being led by candidates with anti-American values, at least the values the US has preached to the rest of the world it has.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

You seem to label the party as one when you find a comment or suggestion you disagree with. Imagine if we all done that. Trump is Trump, he is a big top business man with little opposition in his world. He is an entertainer and uses provocative comments to draw attentions do it works. Like him or not he is a brilliant man and he has reasons for what he is saying.

Like him or not he is a brilliant man and he has reasons for what he is saying. - comments

A brilliant man who hates Mexicans, Blacks, Women and Muslims? Brilliant? Love those American idiots. The backbone of any racist campaign of hate. Surprising how frequently they're willing to display such embarrassing beliefs.

Typical of the Republican base, repeat some falsehood often enough and at leaste a few will agree no matter how stupid the idea has proven to be. "A senior NYPD official testified in 2012 that the unit (Muslim surveillance) never generated leads or triggered a terrorism investigation,"

As shown in the article: “When you trample upon the rights that are entitled to all just because you have suspicions of a group, then you are trampling on the rights of all of the citizens,” - Wahy-ud Deen Shareef, president of the Council of Imams in New Jersey.

This is the program Rump the Great is pushing and Carson agrees with. History has shown both of these men are either too ignorant to learn from the past or too convinced that hatred is a viable social ethic. Worst, how many American faithfully agree with everything they parrot for their Rump.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

Like him or not he is a brilliant man and he has reasons for what he is saying.

Old age dementia? Not that I ever thought he was brilliant. I think with hard work and no scruples, lots of us could get filthy rich.

American Muslims have nothing to fear if they left their expectations at their homeland.

You began your sentence understanding that America is their homeland, and forgot by the end or your sentence!

Sharia is not welcome in USA, anywhere.

Really? I seem to remember that Shariah is based on the Ten Commandments. I also seem to remember that America's Christian politicians have a thing for pointing out that America's laws are based on them. They sure fought hard to keep the statue with the Ten Commandments in front of that court house.

I guess the problem is that people of much faith and little brain can't help themselves but to exaggerate and see things in the shadows that are not there. The majority of Muslims in the west are not even talking about having Shariah law for all. They would just like the option of Shariah in civil court cases when both parties agree to it. But I don't expect anyone from GOP Shia Tea to understand the difference between criminal and civil law. That is high school level knowledge and I know its too much to expect. I would also not expect them to realize that more choices equals more freedom. Its so philosophical it might be junior high level.

Raw hate for and fear of a minority though? Any elementary school kid could accomplish that. Right up the GOP Shia Tea's alley. That they can understand.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

They are worrying for nothing. The media just reports soundbites and focuses on calling everyone racist if they arent left wing nuts and dont think America is a free for all country. There is a large percentage of Americans that don`t agree with the current open border, refugee inviting policies and their voice is no less important than anyone elses.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

You seem to read into him more than his actions show. Firstly never has he said he hates anyone. You can absorb the mainstream media fodder and paint home and everyone else he may associate with as racists and feminists! Rather silly I must say.

Other than Carsons extreem spirituality he is a good man, he has done more for good for humanity than most politicians.

-11 ( +6 / -17 )

@PTownsend,

Describe American values. So if an individual disagrees with left wing free for all lovers they are anti American? I think you just solidified the argument about double standards in the media and that only left wingers are the only ones that have legitimate points.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

It's weird. I've practically almost near zero issues with "Muslim" women, but the majority of issues I've had have been with the men. There are a few Muslim women that have shown extremist leanings, but the majority has been by the men. If there were less men in the ME, we'd probably see some very drastic changes in reforming Islam faster than one can blink. If women were more in control and influential in Islam... we wouldn't be hearing of this today.

A long time ago someone said, "Men are more focused on death, while the women are more focused on life. Which is why you have men starting wars, and women working towards peace. "

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The Republican party must be destroyed.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

These comments by Trump wouldn't be out of place at a Nazi rally in the 30s. Pity there are still mindless sheep today that feed on it..

5 ( +9 / -4 )

USA has never forced Muslim Immigrants to change their ways. However Saudi Arabia flag is a Sword. In the seventh century during waring period, there was only one option for Infidels. It was someone should convert to Islam or lose his or her head. Everything will be fixed by sword. There are many immigrants in US with seventh century ideology.

In fact USA has been losing freedom of speech, expression and liberty. If the candidate of President has no rights to speak what he or she think, USA is nothing different from Saudi Arabia. Everyone has to tremble and obey for critics. Trump and Carson are US citizens. They have rights to express what they feel whether it is right or wrong.

The land of free, proud and brave does not need the political correctness.

-1 ( +9 / -10 )

So if an individual disagrees with left wing free for all lovers they are anti American?

Your inability to grasp or remember the arguments point forth goes a long way to explaining your stance on the subject. No, it was not remotely as simple as condemning those with a different opinion. I think even Forrest Gump could have figured that out.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

@pointedview So if an individual disagrees with left wing free for all lovers they are anti American? I think you just solidified the argument about double standards in the media and that only left wingers are the only ones that have legitimate points.

Please read again what I wrote about freedom of speech. Please refer to whatever source you choose to read about US laws related to discriminating against a group of people because of their religion, country of origin or any other reason.

The main freedom I've heard US Americans on this web page want to defend is their right to own guns and their perceived freedom to discriminate against those who are culturally different. I thought the US prided itself on accepting all cultures. Obviously not, according to many posters.

Republican campaign rhetoric has Muslim-Americans on edge

I am not Muslim-American, and the GOP rhetoric has me on edge, too.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Trump and Carson are US citizens. They have rights to express what they feel whether it is right or wrong. - comments

The comment is correct and accurate.

In every utterance of Rump the Great and Carson, in their own words, and in the twisted beliefs of their racist fans, the public can see the danger of candidates who openly promote racial, sexual and religious hatred.

This is the teachable lesson of Rump the Great and Carson.

By their own words they illustrate the craving ignorance and prejudice of their fan base.

How embarrassing a reality for a commenter who praises and urges prejudice and uses the words of Rump and Carson as their justification for hate and violence.

This then, again, is the danger. Their words endorse hate and violence through the promotion of fear and ignorance.

That's the wonder and celebration of having the "rights to express what they feel whether it is right or wrong".

Their own words prove at every occasion how wrong they are and how willing some are to use these words to harm innocent Americans and propose an American Stasi that will serve the goals of the GOP Shia-Tea. This is the country the GOP Shia-Tea craves. A nation of bigots, driven by fear, to hate anything Rump the Great or Carson tells them to.

That's not freedom. That's the definition of fascism. A dictatorship of Rumps.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"Read above! Black Sabath would like to see 1/2 the US population exterminated. But from the left, that's okay."

He didn't say that. Also, about half of the adult population of the US don't bother voting.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

“It’s dangerous (Rump's rhetoric) because we’ve been down this road before and ugly rhetoric matched with political power can really harm actual people, real lives.” - Baher Azmy, the Center for Constitutional Rights.

Americans who cheer the prejudice of Rump and take his bombast as their shield are likely too ignorant to appreciate Mr. Azmy's quote above.

International readers may understand more of the phenomena of a Rump the Great in American political radio programs and FOXNews. (Since FOX has sponsored Rump's rise from entrepreneur gong shows to political commentary.)

What Americans should take note of is Azmy's warning: "ugly rhetoric matched with political power can really harm actual people, real lives"

Any reader here can appreciate the destruction AWOL Bush created with his lies. The confusion arises when another liar mixes power with prejudice on American soil, and potentially in the Office of the President. How can it be Americans would gladly welcome Rump's blatant racism modeled on Bush's lies?

The power of Rump's rhetoric is tested in the polls that show the GOP Shia-Tea needs this type of prejudice. Worst, they have no care for the harm they will create. How can so many be so willing to support a repetition of the global disaster of AWOL Bush in the caricature of a Rump the Great?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

@PTownsend,

What hate speech? Another overly sensitive individual are we? Having control of endless immigration and scrutinizing refugees from terror torn regions is not racist or hate. That is just the default excuse leftys use when someone else doesnt agree with the endless handouts or when life gets a little tough.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

@Pointedview What hate speech? Another overly sensitive individual are we?

Here's a link from a business mag that you can refer to. I call what Trump's says hate speech; if you think it's not, then modus vivendi. If you think based on what I've written that I'm a sensitive individual (which I might be, but that's not the point I want to make), I suggest you look the word apophenia up in the dictionary.

Republican campaign rhetoric has Muslim-Americans on edge

And oboma allowing for the tens of thousands islamic refugees (some even shouting, "God is Great") as the contemporary events in Europ and ME unfold, has me on on edge.

Has got many americans on edge. Just cause the muslim-americans are on edge too doesn't make them more special.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

kcjapan take a trip to the ME and see how long you can keep your head on your shoulders - comments

Somehow this epithet supports Rump's prejudice and racism?

Maybe the States should shoot for a higher standard of examination of ideas than the Middle East's cultural standards. Some wish the States emulated the Middle East. Some look at the rhetoric of hate and see devils, others angels. That's what civil discourse gets ya, you bet cha.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

And oboma allowing for the tens of thousands islamic refugees (some even shouting, "God is Great")

Why is this worse than "praise be to god", as uttered by thousands (millions?) of Christians every Sunday?

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

The neo nazi Democratic Party continues to erode freedoms just as in 1930's Germany. Books may be next. Trump is a democrat convert. Carson is a good man, a bit overly tied up in his faith. American Muslims have nothing to fear if they left their expectations at their homeland. Sharia is not welcome in USA, anywhere. Cartoons, comedy, and entertainment need not exclude Islam from anything form of entertainment just as any other religion is targeted.

We Americans need not coddle and American Muslims need an open mind or go back home where you will be happy.

Wow. One of those "as long as it's those Others who aren't like me, I'm for any kind of government intervention/spying/intrusion. In fact, I'll go to great lengths in my attempts to justify it. But as soon as they start in on us white people and trying to regulate our guns, THEN I'm gonna start railing and calling everyone Nazis" people.

Hey, what about those American Muslims who were born in the US? Where are they going to go when they're the ones who have to carry ID cards or register in a database? What if they wanted to register all the Mark Gs in a database? What home will you go back to?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Hmmm. Tough one. If we lived in a world without violence and racism, then racial profiling wouldn't exist. But that's not the case. Violence gets reported in the media, especially if they are caused by Muslim extremists. Who can really be at fault if if a Muslim-looking man sits next to you on a plane causing all sorts of anxiety around him?

Here's an idea. After Pearl Harbor and the subsequent imprisoning of Japanese-Americans, some Japanese-Americans joined the military to show their loyalty to the U.S. Well, time for Muslim men AND women to step up as American/French soldiers and fight ISIS and any other radical Islamic group. This will make people think, "Huh, I guess they're alright."

I will say Muslims who seclude themselves and refuse to mingle with people outside of their religion should start mingling, or guess what? People are going to misunderstand, be fearful, and just not like them.

Thomas Jefferson owned a copy of the Qur'an, which was the second edition of a 1734 translation by George Sale, a two-volume set published in London in 1764.

source: https://www.monticello.org/site/research-and-collections/quran

Will these GOP Shia-Tea bigots ever get over themselves and their prejudice? Will the world ever be rid of religious extremists who use the holy books to justify any destruction they find fashionable at the moment? Will the world ever get tired of the man in the sky who smotes and threats destruction over every contrivance of man's insufferable ego?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Well, time for Muslim men AND women to step up as American/French soldiers and fight ISIS and any other radical Islamic group.

Nothing like a little war to show your dedication to peace.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Why is this worse than "praise be to god", as uttered by thousands (millions?) of Christians every Sunday?

But I'm not making any such a comparison between "praise the lord" and "God is Great." What is alarming is that the "God is Great", shouted in arabic acts as their "battle cry."

Like how the Turks were shouting it as they shot at (with ak47's) the Russian pilots who were parachuting from their downed aircraft.

Further . . . if their "god" is so damn "great", then they should go to Riyadh, Mecca or Medina. Apply for political asylum there. Not in the United States of America.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

kcjapan

Well done.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

What is alarming is that the "God is Great", shouted in arabic acts as their "battle cry."

That's about as accurate as calling all Muslims terrorists because a scattering of them are.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

That's about as accurate as calling all Muslims terrorists because a scattering of them are.

Who cares how accurate it is. Are you an american citizen? Probably not: I am. So I say, If their "God is so go-damn Great", they need not come onto US soil with that nonsense.

Btw (and you don not have to answer this) how many refugees have been invited by whichever nation you're a citizen of?

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Again the GOP Shia-Tea has shown its prejudice and ignorance.

I had no idea that based on the history of the peopl that are trying to kill us to take special precautions and with good reason amounted to being prejudiced.

Neither Rump or Carson has any authority or power except to taunt bigots to reckless action.

Liberals invented the word bigot, literally and because they want to keep America safe, they are now labeled as bigots? Then so be it.

As stated previously, these two Republicans are simply shouting "fire" in a crowded theater.

Better than a president that would let the building burn down including the people inside the building.

Worst they are providing the roadmap for their ignorant band of fascists to assault and threaten innocent people. These two irresponsible losers are promoting a lawless vigilantism to act independently and with lethal force.

What about the innocent majority of Americans that don't want these refugees, I guess, the loving unicorn pails Democrats could care less about how they feel.

At some point these calculated threats are simply pouring gas on the fire of their racist followers.

Hmmmm, I'm a conservative and I'm not racist, in fact, I could care less what you are or how you look or what God you worship, but I am totally against allowing these refugees in, in one giant slump. That to me is negligent and totally carelessly irresponsible on the part of the left.

At some point they must be charged for inciting illegal and lethal action against innocent American citizens.

So then why let these people in. Build a refugee community out in the desert and take your time vetting them and when they check out, then let them in.

This is no longer "freedom of speech". Rump the Great and Carson are promoting hate and violence and the Republican Party is their enabler.

Oh, well, the progressive left smothered that like gravy on a turkey since Obama came into office. I'm surprised you didn't...or failed to willingly acknowledge that.

There could be no better recruitment of radical extremists than these two bigots.

Sorry, Obama is waaaaaaaaaay ahead in that dept. in fact, he might be one of their best friends and instigator.

But this is what the GOP Shia-Tea would have as the standard of behavior for their fans and ordinary citizens.

What?

Rump should be arrested after Atlanta, Carson should be more intelligent in his hate speech, but neither have the right to threaten innocent Americans in their schools, homes, work or places of worship.

If that's the case, Obama, Hillary should all be San Quentin serving a life sentence in the general population.

But, again, this is what their calls for prejudice and violence in the ears of their fans amounts to. Americans should be deeply ashamed or these bigots not attempting to send them to the Oval Office.

I think they are more ashamed of Obama at this point and time.

We read the confirmation of the intellectual capability of the GOP Shia-Tea and hear the calls for racism as they ripple through the taunts of Republicans.

But the Democratic Party keeping minorities depended on the government is not racist, but teaching self-reliance is? Wow!

In the end, have they no shame?

If anyone should be blamed for having ZERO shame, it's Barack!

Or are these few deranged bigots seeking validation for their hate?

Isn't Obama the man that seeks acceptance and love from everyone, that's the everything for this guy. Inferiority complex, methinks.

This then is the real danger of Rump and Carson's play to the political base of racism.

So what's Hillary's and Obama's excuse?

Hopefully these are few but that isn't the real danger. Incensed by the racism of Rump and Carson, these few have fired on mosques in The States and one famously called for the slaughter of innocents in a utube rant that urged random slaughter.

The jihadists have been slaughtering people for thousands of years, to make a stupid argument that Trump or Carson put more fuel on the fire is Just absolutely laughable.

These aren't Americans.

But Obama is??? Don't go there.....just don't.....

These are the bigots who hide behind the Bill of Rights in their persecution of innocent Americans. How different this from ISIS? Zero degrees of separation and the Republican Party thinks this is their pathway to power?

Isn't Obama supposed to be an adjunct professor who supposedly knows the constitution and how it works.

How shameful, how un-American.

I agree!! 7 long painful years and one more to go!

But, after AWOL Bush's war based on lies? There's no bottom to the rhetoric of hate. ISIS has proved that. Will the GOP Shia-Tea provide the next example? Perhaps they already have.

The lies that Obama and his minions have spent telling the people over the last 7 years is making even the most loyal Democratic in his cabinet cringe with the way he has been faltering around with his disastrous and bungling foreign policy. Again, when you have hardcore Democrats like Diane Feinstein complaining about Obama's handling of foreign policy, you know it's time to seriously panic!

To be fair, both sides are guilty of this.

The US needs to cover up the Statue of Liberty. It's sad to see US extremists being led by candidates with anti-American values, at least the values the US has preached to the rest of the world it has.

If you take Trump and Hillary out, there shouldn't be any problems.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Wc626: And oboma allowing for the tens of thousands islamic refugees (some even shouting, "God is Great") as the contemporary events in Europ and ME unfold, has me on on edge.

Ah, I see the problem. It's not "tens of thousands." And naturally you didn't see those people chanting "god is great" since you don't know anything about them.

You might want to think about exiting the bubble. It appears to be too stressful of a place for you.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Who cares how accurate it is

Non-bigots.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

They strike out of the blue. They will kill you without hesitation or remorse. They used to kill hundreds of innocent Americans every year, but through vigilance and social changes, we have gotten the number of innocent victims down to 25 per year. They could you just about anywhere, anytime. Extremists? Immigrants? Refugees? No. Lightning bolts!

If TeaRUMP and Carson really cared about American lives, they would promise to build lightning rods over every half mile radius of America, each at least 100 yards tall. They would seek to ensure that every American man, woman and child has cheap and easy access to boots with one-inch thick rubber soles! Instead they want a Soviet style surveillance system on Americans based on their faith, even though I am sure lighting bolts still kill more innocent Americans on their own home turf with the exception of a fluke back in 2001.

Ok, so what were you really trying to say about Trump or Carson?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Great article (as usual) from Jamelle Bouie:

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2015/11/donald_trump_is_a_conservative_media_creation_right_wing_media_has_engaged.html

"The real estate mogul’s racist and xenophobic message is a product of years of race-baiting from right-wing media."

Jemelle lists event after event of structured race-baiting by the GOP. The problem isn't that they created control of GOP followers, it's that Trump jumped in the driver's seat and snagged control away from them. Now they're stuck chasing this bus heading for the cliff.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

As soon as you quoted "Slate" the debate was over. Why not just quote Mother Jones or the Daily Kos if that's not the case. Now, I will say, Trump does take the bait and for some reason can't resist or tries to refrain from sticking his foot in his mouth. But the man like Obama can never say or admit the truth if he is caught red-handed in a lie and told to walk it back. These guys are not like that.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Ok, so what were you really trying to say about Trump or Carson?

That Hillary has absolutely screwed up more than anyone in the history of people ROFL LOL!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Easy Solution: Muslims should monitor their own and show the public that they are.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

shonanbb - do you "monitor" your neighbours for suspicious activity? No? Well why expect one section of the community to be able to do that effectively, either?

Ridiculous.

When we turn to bigotry, mistrust and division, we are, in a way, surrendering to the barbarians of ISIS. We must not blame innocent people because of their faith. I despair of some of the views here - you are doing the terrorists' job for them if you adopt these opinions.

Use your brains and think !

As soon as you quoted "Slate" the debate was over.

Oh, Bassyboy, is only the DRUGE report and RED(fascist)state news good enough for your sources? SLATE is just too progressive? Too factual for you? READ the flipping article will you! But you Rightwingers (code) fascists will hide your heads in the sand and NOT learn the ugly truth behind your ilk just like the true-blue (red) Soviet man used to do. Your groupthink and loyalty compares with their own. Race-baiting by the GOP is the whole attraction to the party.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What a simple, and very incorrect assessment of the situation.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@RabidGaijin. But, but... that's crazy talk! :p Islam (the religion), can be criticized and scrutinized without being prejudiced against Muslims in general who are choosing (and in some cases being indoctrinated) into following a religious ideal.

I've never heard of a French-Muslim, or an American Muslim or Canadian Muslim. Why? Because Islam is not an ethnicity. Excuse those of us that aren't so stupid as to cheer on an ideological teaching (and a religious one at that) that runs completely counter to what democracy and human rights that those who have preceded us fought long and hard to get into place.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Are most mass killers white males? I saw two of them on the streets talking, one with a bag. Next time I'll call the cops if I see that again.

Oh, and I have a prepared list of serial killers so don't even try to paint me as some nut job bigot. I'm just an outsider who makes people think.

@RabidGaijin

I completely agree that Islamic extremists have committed many horrible acts and the world needs to stop them from committing more. I think there are Muslims who are truly frightening.

But there are roughly 1.5 billion Muslims; they make up 20% of the world's population. That's 1 in 5 people. I object to people who deny that Muslims have nationalities and come from different cultures. I object to the broad brush painting of all Muslims as evil. I object to the blind, ignorant bigotry espoused by the world's hard of thinking, the easily manipulated people who know next to nothing about Islam other than the horrific acts committed by Islamic terrorists.

I do not support nor believe in the teachings of any religion, but do believe strongly in an individual's rights as a human to believe whatever they want. The extremists within the reactionary world scare me as much as the Islamic extremists. I think cultural and religious extremism are forms of mental illness.

I have lots to say about your list, but will only cherrypick one item and that's "Buddhists living with Hindus = No Problem". I suggest you read about Sri Lankan history on that one.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@RabidGaijin Well said my friend! Islam causes problems wherever it is.

To be fair, I think you meant radical Islam. I don't believe the vast majority of Muslims are bad, however, not enough of the moderates speak out loudly enough and you do have a large segment that believes in radical jihadism. Having said that, everything that you listed does show without a doubt that all these past crimes were perpetrated by Muslims and then the left get into a hissy fit when the public feels uncomfortable with a mostly Muslim refugee group that the president wants to let in blindly and won't even properly have these people vetted. And because of his own stupid policies that don't make a bean of sense, he wants to sit and lecture people, the media, the GOP instead of having a real debate or a townhall meeting with the people. But he won't and we all know why.

All the delusional liberals on here are just having a big competition with eachother to see who can leave the most ridiculous extreme-leftwing comment possible.

Without a doubt.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

You are OK about refugees coming through DC.

PT Townsend:

" I have lots to say about your list, but will only cherrypick one item and that's "Buddhists living with Hindus = No Problem". I suggest you read about Sri Lankan history on that one. "

That is a local political issue, caused by British importation of Hindus as cheap labor. It is not driven by religion, and not preached in temples and shrines. In other places, Hindus and Buddhists live together, and you will not find quotations in Buddhist and Hindu literature calling for violence against the others.

I think you just illustrated the point which you tried to refute.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

"or a townhall meeting with the people. " No, they have these. Remember when they had this when Texas Conservatives were afraid that Obama was going to invade Texas (which is part of the United States). A military officer came tried to assure these fine Texas conservatives they are just doing drills on American soil (which Texas is part of). But they could not be convinced as the officer just shook his head and got back to work. Why are conservatives worried that Obama will invade his own country. This goes all the way up to to Texas gov. Abbott. He even deployed the national guard spending tax money doing so. The case was presented at a town meeting but it was a big waste of time. Do you conservatives really think Obama will invade the USA?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

@WilliB Good point re religion and culture. Which is cart and which is horse is based on an individual's beliefs and perspectives, and of course context. I was over-simplistically trying to point out an example of the poster's oversimplifications.

bass: Muslim refugee group that the president wants to let in blindly and won't even properly have these people vetted

Despite having evidence to the contrary put right in front of you on this message board on more than one occasion, you still repeat the lie.

Bill Maher calls these "Zombie lies" because they just won't die. And it's obvious why Trump refuses to back down from saying thousands and thousands of Muslims were cheering in Jersey. He simply doesn't have to acknowledge the truth of the situation with the audience he is speaking to. They want to believe it.

let in blindly

You apply through the United Nations High Commission of Refugees, which collects documents and performs interviews. Less than one percent of refugees worldwide end up being recommended for resettlement If you’re one of them, you may then be referred to the State Department to begin the vetting process At this point, more information is collected, and you’ll be put through security screenings by the National Counterterrorism Center, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security If you’re a Syrian refugee, you’ll get an additional layer of screening called the Syria Enhanced Review, which may include a further check by a special part of Homeland Security—the USCIS [United States Citizenship and Immigration Services] fraud detection and national security directorate. Then, you finally get an interview with USCIS officers and you’ll also be fingerprinted so your prints can be run through the biometric databases of the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Defense. If you make it through all that, you’ll also have health screenings which, If everything comes back clear, you’ll be enrolled in cultural orientation classes—all while your information continues to be checked recurrently against terrorist databases to make sure that no new information comes in that wasn’t caught before.” This process typically takes 18 to 24 months once you’ve been referred to the U.N. by the United States. This is the most rigorous vetting anyone has to face before entering this country.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

As it's been said before, getting in via refugee status is the hardest way to enter the country. Anyone who could pass that screenning would easily pass a check to buy a plane ticket and fly right to New York.

I just wanted to remind some people that that was true yesterday and will be true tomorrow.

Muslims are most complaining citizens in Western countries. If the Muslims do not want to live the condition they were living America and then they should go back to their country or the country their parent came from. Muslims should be migrated and living in Islamic country because they do not like Westernized culture and other religions. I have no idea why Muslims like to migrate to Westernized Country like UK, Germany, Canada, Australia and Scandinavian Countries? The Muslim refugees and migrants demand to the host country should learn Muslim culture, Islam religion and practice Sheria Law instead of learning local culture and integrate into local society. Why Muslims trying to migrate and seek asylum in Westernized countries if they do not like host nation’s culture and religion?

Japan never should bring Muslim migrants and refugees into Japan if Japanese Government does not want same problems what US, UK, Netherlands, Australia and other European nations. Peoples are divided for Muslims’ problems in those countries. Some Politicians are openly lying by telling to peoples “Islam is religion of peace” and some Politicians were accusing as Nazi and racist by left wing journalists and right activists because they pointing out about inciting hatred and murder against nonbelievers in Quran.

Obviously, United State was not united anymore and divided because of the problems brought by Muslims.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

These appear stupid to me with their diatribes. Has trump forgotten that the 9/11 attackers didn't scheme and plot at a mosque; they did it at a flight school.

Even then, there were a lot of suspensions about that, the way they were meticulous about the mechanics of the plane, a bit unusual than the average flight student. That was the first red flag,

The Paris attackers were inbred, just like timothy mcveigh. Look at half the squad of IS; they're from Europe, Australia, and America. These guys know this; the media knows this.

All the more reason to infiltrate the No go Muslim areas, break up these cells, interrogate and use any tactics that the police need to use to combat the radicals and all the more reason to take our time with letting these people in.

The only people who suffer from their "attempts to make us safer" are the common joes and janes. All this is to keep us afraid, on edge, and at each other's throats so the world puppeteers can further their control by eliminating more civil liberties in the holy name of safety. I'm not buying it.

What a bunch of crap. I'll say this, you don't have to be afraid, No one is saying this, but you need to be vigilant and the people that become complacent are the ones that become often the victims.

Do you conservatives really think Obama will invade the USA?

That would depend if the man is a US citizen or not.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The problem is not just rhetoric by politicians and candidates.

It is the entire Muslim population within the USA that has NOT sounded out enough to support the effort to stop ISIS/ISIL which gives the "impression" to the already emotional and "racially" influenced US population, that the Muslims in the USA are indeed silently supporting the ISIS/ISIL movement. To make matters worse there are too may educational institutions that even encourage the Islamification of the USA.

Interestingly, that is exactly the image and impression the entire world is seeing from the total silence and inaction by the Muslim population in the entire world. If anything, they should be out in front trying to clean up their image.

We as on the side observers, can only see and feel the negative impact of it all. We cannot see or feel the "positive" side of the current religious and racial war.

Who is benefiting from it all?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

kazetsukai:

" Who is benefiting from it all? "

Political islam is. It is a multi-.generational conquest project, and with the modern PC movement and our collective historical amnesia, it is phenomenally successful today. Basically, our combination of political correctness and complete ignorance about the content of islam has opened the floodgates for weapons conquest.

And thanks to politically correct speech control we may not even talk about the issue.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

There is talk among conservatives that the president (who conservatives believe is a Kenyan Born Muslim to infiltrate the American system) is going to create an American Teleban. This would include stuff like female circumcision, the ability to beat wives and mercy killings via stoning. The works. Also, they will go around and legitimately destroy anything that represents America as we know it. Landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, Smithsonian. Are conservatives really this paranoid.

Mr. Noidall

" Has trump forgotten that the 9/11 attackers didn't scheme and plot at a mosque; they did it at a flight school. "

How do you come up with stuff like that? They PRECISELY "schemed and plot at a mosque". In fact, the Hamburg mosque where Mohammed Atta, their leader, was indotrinated, has since been shut down ... and that is in super-liberal Germany. Radical islam is the only common demoninator for the terrorist of 9/11, of Madrid, London, Paris, Bombay, Nairobi, Beslan, Bali... continue at will.

The purpose of the flight is,,,, learning how to fly. Nobody ever claimed any "plotting" going on there.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

You guys are the ones who believe stuff like this.

Just as you believe Obama is the best president the US has ever had. Give me a break, but it does make for a great joke.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

I presented facts (like deportations are way up and taxes have stayed low) . I have also complimented some Republicans. For example Nixon was a genius for inventing ObamaCare. George 1st foreign policy was genius.

But you say Obama was born in Kenya. You also say he is Muslim. You also say he is going to invade all of the USA and make it into an American teleban. You also say he faked is Harvard degree. Really! How can I debate against that? When you say he wants to change the USA from the Christian center of the world to that of Islam.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

“I think it has a deeper scar, a psychological scar, on the Muslim community, which is a consequence of these types of surveillance programs,”

Oh, but the administration persisting on allowing tens of thousands of islamic refugees, with no way to to verify their true identities, will not psychologically affect ordinary americans?

Please don't allow these refugees. They will never adapt american cultures and values.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

"will not psychologically affect ordinary americans?" No worse than Scientologists, evangelicals, or Jehovah's. Nothing to worry about unless you are weak minded.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

weak minded.

Whaa . . . . "weak minded?" -Son, I've been to the ME a few times. I saw the good, the bad & the ugly.

On that note . . . please! Obama/Kerry don't let them in. They cannot grasp the american way, period.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

You are afraid all Americans will become Muslim. OK, if you want to think that.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Muslims should migrate to Muslim countries.

Afterall they have their own many unique state-religious laws, incompatible with 21st century secular laws. A simple example is praying 5 times a day in work, while other colleagues have to work. Chopping off hands for stealing.

The rest of world will be more peaceful.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@nishikak.

Not at all. The regiment of a muslim conflicts with the freedoms of ordinary americans. U.S. Women don't cover up. Both men & women drink beer. Celebrate Christmas, Halloween, 4th of July. BBq PORK Ribs. Pulled Pork BBq sandwiches. Bacon & eggs for breakfast. And rising to the national anthem before a sporting event.

You are afraid all Americans will become Muslim. OK, if you want to think that.

I think that they will have a hard time adjusting to the United States of America. It's not me who worries, it is them- the foreigners- who will be afraid to adapt . . . I am okay thinking like that. Aren't you?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Muslims should migrate to Muslim countries.

there is an advantage of having muslims in western countries to give them the opportunity to things that they cannot do in their own countries, like renouncing their faith or converting to new ideas without the threat of being murdered.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

"Oh, but the administration persisting on allowing tens of thousands of islamic refugees, with no way to to verify their true identities, will not psychologically affect ordinary americans?" Unless this question mark is a typo you are afraid these new Muslim will influence millions upon millions of Americas to become Muslims (on top of the 5 million or so who are). Can you clarify?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

But diversity enriches the fabric of our society...Allahu Akbar!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

But diversity enriches the fabric of our society...Allahu Akbar!

Yeah, and don't forget about the diversity in US politics enriching the lives of ordinary americans by opening the floodgates to islamic refugees. . . . "YES WE CAN."

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Can you please clarify about how these Muslims are going to "psychologically affect ordinary americans"? How are they going to damage the American mind other than have a slight impact on the pork business which would make proprietors of BBQ restaurants slightly concerned (I guess that would be psychological)? Do you also agree with Bass that Obama is not American? And that Obama was planted by the Muslims in order to create the American Teleban?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

"Sorry. But when they get to the US, they will secretly scorn it and will not be loyal to it. " So?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"Sorry. But when they get to the US, they will secretly scorn it and will not be loyal to it. " So?

So it ain't right. They shouldn't come. Who benefits from their arrival onto american soil? Not americans. Why come to a land of "INFIDELS"? If their "God is so friggn' Great", they should seek refuge in places like Riyadh, Mecca and Medina.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

There are millions in the USA already.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

There are millions in the USA already.

Thank you for illustrating the point. And most of the muslims already here are pretty decent people. But that's enough!

The other ones coming from syria shouting "God is Great" (which seems to be radical islam's battle cry) can't all be trusted. What if there are sleeper cells or ISIS sympathizers in those tens of thousands of refugees? Why risk it?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"And most of the muslims already here are pretty decent people." They are taking over and they will try to force the USA to conform to their ways of life.

Just read the title Immigration to Swell U.S. Muslim Population to 6.2 Million

The American way of life is finished.

These are not refugees. Soon there will be no more beer and American pulled BBQ.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The American way of life is finished. These are not refugees. Soon there will be no more beer and American pulled BBQ

You're a funny guy. . . . and soon portraits of "Islamic" Prophets will be featured on US Currency. Instead of "In God We Trust", will be replaced with "God is Great". RofL . . .

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Why are you worried about refugees when (1) they are much more screened than regular immigrants and (2) there are not millions of them like immigrants.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Oh, tell me about it. Those damn lightening bolts - they shout Allahu Akhbar and before you know it 150 innocent citizens are dead and 200 more wounded and some messed up for life. But never mind!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@Wc626 - It s obvious you have never meet a Muslim American (or any other immigrant it seems) For the most part, they do not cover their hair, they drink beer, and celebrate our holidays, I'll be it with double the food. (that's american and their home countries if you are too dense to understand.)

Read a little about history, for example, in my hometown we had many Muslims from Iran. They fled a political revolution, and were very grateful to the U.S. and their freedom. Their children were born in the U.S. and went to school where they learned to be proud Americans. They are very kind neighbors, and love to feed friends that their kids invite over to play. They are Americans, and perhaps appreciate that more than you. They believe our founding fathers words of 'all men are created equal'

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The discussion has taken an interesting turn.

The current massive and quick growth of ISIS/ISIL does indicate a well planned, organized, coordinated, world-wide scenario with the most powerful person in the world, as the key coordinator and indeed deserving the Nobel Prize as the most dangerous world leader.

Then WHO or what group/s is/are BEHIND it all?

Who is ultimately to BENEFIT from it all?

It certainly is NOT current mankind as we know it.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I know it's terribly un-PC to say so, but why have we swallowed this "diversity" scam? it's like a friggin mantra - " diversity enriches the fabric of our society". Total bs!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The refugee - actually you are completely wrong abt my upbringing and experiences. In fact my blood is mixed abt 5 different ways and I grew up with a variety of ethnicities. You sound like an episode of The Waltons. Spare me the sanctimonious garbage - it gets old real fast.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I actually agree with a lot of what you are saying, but it is not really accurate to say that these people were Muslim. I'm guessing by your words you are possibly from Southern California, where the largest Iranian immigrant population in the country is located? The vast majority of these people were not actually Muslim, but Jewish, other religions, or in some cases very moderate Muslim who were fleeing religious persecution for that very reason - not being Muslim. So it's a little inaccurate to say that they can be considered Muslim.

That said, I was talking to a Muslim woman here in California just the other day in full hijab, who keeps to strict Islamic laws. And she said to me they love America, they love the freedom to practice their beliefs peacefully, and if the government want to monitor them, put them in a database, watch them, visit them, she is happy to be given the opportunity to prove what a good American citizen she is and to demonstrate how Muslims can live peacefully with both western and Islamic ideologies.

Honestly - I don't see a vast difference between monitoring Muslims in the US, and the furor that happened when Japan started fingerprinting all non-Japanese at the entry points to the country, and making us all carry the "gaijin cards". Really - what's the difference? Religious grounds? But why is that so terrible compared to racial (non-Japanese) grounds? Especially given that there is a proven issue with religious extremism, unlike gaijin crime that was largely fabricated. Like many other foreigners in Japan at the time, I accepted it because I had nothing to hide. The issue comes with the potential abuse of the data - THAT is what America needs to prove it can handle if it wants to implement something like this. Right now I am a foreign national resident in America and I can tell you, they are monitoring us pretty strictly! They know exactly where we are, what dates we have left on our visas currently, who is in the house etc. Doesnt bother me at all. In fact if anything, makes me feel safer.

NatalieB - I hear what you are saying, but my friends identified as Muslim, who am I to judge if they are 'real' Muslims? They must of been more moderate, but I think a lot of beliefs have a wide range of believers. Like Christmas and Easter Christians. Anyway, you seem like an objective person, my post was aimed at those who were trying to say all Muslims are the same and couldn't fit into America.
